The art for Grimlock's head looks more like Starscream's head than the art for Starscream's head.

I really like the character design for this line. Prime especially has a great design.
If I were somewhere between 8 and 12, I'd be psyched for these.

Here's the Warrior Class figure:
Still not the quality of a generations or RID deluxe/warrior. and it looks barely anything like his artwork on the packaging and promos.

Its not (referring to the quality). But its not intended to be. When RID came out, Hasbro stated that the warrior class should satisfy those looking for more traditional transforming toys. And they werent wrong. But there was not such mention this time. This line (and the bumblebee movie line) will not be marketed to collectors. Instead more collector oriented stuff will be relegated to other lines and be part of those.

I know, I was just mentioning that I want a better toy of him because I like his design. I know these toys are for a younger audience.

There's just a kiddie like quality that I don't generally enjoy with these newer lines. I realize of course that this is a toy line for children, but this one seems too gimmick heavy as well, I've seen too many times when a good figure is ruined for the sake of a gimmick. I hope Hasbro keeps going with two lines, as I've come to view the white boxed figs, (RID, etc.) as the more youth oriented lines, and the black carded boxes as more appealing to collectors.
I hope you know that by skipping the robots in the disguise warrior class, you missed out on more complex transformations than any deluxe from the combiner wars or power of the primes line.
Some weren't bad, but I just wasn't impressed with the build of most of them. My daughter got a few of the warrior class, but too many gimmicky features. The mini cons were pointless and the launcher figs like Drift had needless parts added or removed to accommodate the mini cons. There was also the huge white stickers on each figure for the mobile app. I just like the generations line better and feel like that's where they have the collectors more in mind.

Going to pass on the bigger figures. I can forgive not having knees since I just need my figures to stand on the shelf anyway. But no elbows on $30 figures the size of a Leader? Not happening. Grimlock looks like he has elbows so I might get him, but otherwise I'll be selective with the Warrior class and hope something better comes later.

I know I'm alone in this, but I'm kind of excited to see the return of individualized action-feature gimmicks. Last time we had those was Thrilling 30, and even then it was a bit sporadic. Usually if there's a gimmick these days, it's applied to the entire figure class, or even the entire toyline, and it's been that way since at least DotM. And some of the gimmicks in lines like Beast Wars and Animated actually did make the figures more fun for me.

As long that the gimmick is not spring loaded missiles that shoot off if you just breathes at them, I'm good.

I'm partial to motion gimmicks, personally, especially things that spin. Though "hidden weapon" gimmicks that flip out are also fun.
Spring-loaded missiles have been done a million times and can get annoying, so I hope they don't do those unless they give us something past a basic launcher (like rapid-fire, or the transforming beast projectiles from Polar Claw and BW Scorponok, that sort of thing.)
From what I can tell, Grimlock's gimmick is that he not only breathes fire, but is also on fire...

...So I think I know what's gonna be first on my shopping list.

I almost wish these didn't have such cool base designs because they're wasted on toys like that. I mean, sure there's the odd outliar (Shockwave actually looks cool) but for the most part these things look traaaaaaash with a capital Danny Devito.

Re: Transformers Cyberverse 2018 Toyline Thread
I'm really mixed on the Cyberverse design: on one hand they have a sleek, cartoony style to them which remind me of Animated put through a Generation 1 filter which looks nice enough. Unfortunately it seems all the designs are marred by their simplistic, gimmick-ridden toys. I'm sure a good, well-articulate deluxe or voyager with these designs would make for a damn good toy.

It's possible that some of these 'evergreen' designs, which I believe are also the new IDW designs, could see life in the Generations line after POTP is done.

They should have named Optimus "Jerry".

Anyway, this line is looking mostly skippable.

The idea for OP's gimmick is a neat one. Don't think we've had a Matrix toy in the US with this much open destructiveness in it.
So, basically Animated?

That Prime is obscuring his hands with truck kibble. I hate that. The head sculpts are terrible too especially Megatron's goofy face. The figures themselves are.. ok? They don't look great to me at all but at least a bit more detailed than usual simplified TF toys I suppose.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!
Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron
