Okay, That's the bit of info I didn't have; I did not know that Strongarm was a female character. Makes me wonder if she'll turn out to be a female counterpart to Prowl or something.

Anyway in my original statement, I was alluding to the fact that this has been a year rife with high-profile police brutality cases and a growing national outrage over it... I just thought that naming a Police vehicle "Strongarm" was a bad choice because it could be seen to support the overuse of force by police... but that's digging too deep and before I get severely flamed for this I'll retract the comment. I never meant to start anything... #-o

I am glad that there's a solid Female character and that the character is an authority figure. The toys for this line keep getting more and more interesting... :APPLAUSE:

Well, that was fast. At least for the Irish. Maybe they ARE lucky.
I'm still thinking that I'll only pick up these from Ross or TJ Maxx if I see them there. I don't think full price for these is gonna do it for me.

She's not the first police car to be named "Strongarm":

This Classics Mini-Con from 2006 had the same name, that's why she's named that: Hasbro likes to reuse names between similarly themed characters. :) It could be argued that the name is used figuratively ("The strong arm of the law"), not literally.

Seeing the preview clips and all, I have some concerns about the series premise. So far we've been given no indication that the Decepticons have any core leader. And none of the usual Decepticons seem to be represented in the series at all. It says there's a 'prison ship' full of cons, and Bumblebee's team is just there to round them up like dogcatchers or something.

Without Megatron, or Galvatron, or heck even Starscream to lead them, then the cons won't seem like a significant or organized threat. It could be just episodes where a new con pops up, they run out and catch him, then go home for a beer or something.

I don't know about anyone else, but I watch Tformer shows to see the Decepticons as much as anything else.

I have seen nothing about this line so far that is even tempting me to consider buying any.

I'm not trying to be overly critical but I feel absolutely no excitement or curiosity about these toys.

Prowl? Yanno, that actually makes sense. A law enforcer in a show with a bunch of escaped con-convicts? Might be like how Ultra Magnus was to TFPrime.

Considering how many toys Steeljaw seems to be getting, and the fact that only leaders (and Bumblebee) get that many figures, it's pretty likely that he'll be the big bad for this show.

That's the impression I get (the name also says strength, valor, etc), though I am half surprised there wasn't some last minute change. Y'know, postponing everything while they rerecord every line that mention's her name, stickers getting slapped on every package, etc.

Then again, this is just 'sorta kinda' hitting an issue. Nothing like "Spastic" or Exhaust or even the Batman movie shooting...

Well we know that Megatron has given up conquest after being tortured down to his spark by unicron. Galvatron could still be in the show as in the Prime universe he could be seperate from megs. Starscream could still be alive though I hope Predaking killed him.

Yeah, "R Strongarm" is what it seems to be called, and might possibly be based on some uber cop split-personality she might have that may or may not be named "Rip".

I dont think that toy line was any worse than any of the previous movie lines. I actually liked it even more simply because it had dinosaurs.

It's a real shame her toy looks to suck so hard because I like the Strongarm character design and I like the concept a lot. A bit of a shame she isn't going to be a female Judge Dredd but then this is a kid's show, so "GAZE INTO THE FIST OF STRONGARM" and "12 YEARS IN THE ISO-CUBES, SCUM" might not fly.

Am I the only one who finds that pretty cool? Now that I have a classics collection, I dont really need them to keep giving us the same characters in different styles. I can't think of any original character since Animated Bulkhead, so that's pretty refreshing.

If those are from rescue bots, I am sorry I dont watch it. Not that they dont count, its just that I wouldnt have known of them when I wrote my statement.

Also (sorry to derail again but I like how Sabreblade has all the answers), I was under the impression that most transformers series had about the same length of 3 seasons. Beast Wars, Animated and Prime had 3 seasons.

PS: So wait, if I understand correctly, the Flash villain Heatwave has been licensed to appear on a Transformers show? ;)

We're in complete agreement, you and I. The closest I've come to any interest of just watching a video review is Steeljaw. He looks to be the most complex of them all with every panel flipping this way and that. Even then, I'm sure he's ridiculously simple. Bumblebee looks alright, mainly due to his range of motion and his balanced transformation. The rest of them, though...*sighs*

Grimlock, you're on notice. You suck.
