Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, Kev! It looks cool now, so I can't wait to see what it'll be like with another Titan in the mix.

Voyager talk? I think I ranked the Voyagers molds a while back but I didn't quite have every base mold at that point (I was missing Prime/Octone) so I may as well have another crack at it now. Brace yourselves, this is gonna get long - as if it could end up any other way with me at the wheel.
My least favorite is, in all honesty, Alpha Trion. I know, crucify me now D-Max. His robot mode is lovely and the deco work is
beautiful (probably the best of the line!) but neither of his alternate modes do it for me and he just doesn't feel very... fun, to me. Not a
bad figure I suppose, but he's still the one I enjoy messing with the least, only narrowly beaten out by...
Broadside. I guess these share-buddies just don't have the best luck. Much like A3 I looove Broady's robot mode (though IMO it works way better when thought of as a super-huge Deluxe than as a proper Voyager), and unlike Alpha I also quite like one of his alternate modes. I shouldn't need to say which one, I'm sure. His jet mode is absolutely worse than either of A3's alt-modes, but one good and one awful mode just slightly outdoes two 'meh' modes in my books. I might also think differently if I hadn't swapped his tail-fins over to point the "right" way, but hey, my list my rules or whatever.
[Here's where Galvatron would have been if I wasn't an incompetent airhead incapable of keeping track of which toys I even own

. For my specific opinions on the figure just see Zelda's post below; he pretty summarizes my exact thoughts with his own, and does so in a more accurate manner than I could have done, honestly.]
Astrotrain. He's good! ...And there's not really much else I have to say on him. Shuttle and train modes both work well and the conservation of kibble between modes is also really impressive, but something about his robot mode especially just doesn't feel very... dynamic? I always end up just standing him up straight because he doesn't seem to call out for anything more interesting, and that's a shame for such an otherwise competent figure. And now as we enter the top three, things get a
lot closer...
Megatron. I
love this guy. He is the definitive Megatron for my collection (I like my leaders to be Voyagers, somewhat ironically) and is just an all-round fun toy! There are only two reasons that he's at number three instead of higher up: one is that his deco is (while character-accurate) a little less interesting than #1 and 2, and the fact that I didn't want to have two of the same mold taking
both of the top spots. (His cannon isn't
fantastic either, but I don't mind it much myself. I think the grand total of Megatron - and Galvatron - toys whose cannons haven't been janky in some way is... like, two, maybe? And that's probably being generous.) Of course that second reason gives away the rankings of the last two, but shh let's pretend we don't know yet.
Octone, of course, takes the number two spot - though honestly you could absolutely switch him with Megs and I wouldn't complain. He's fun and dynamic in robot mode, adequate in truck mode (if a little small-feeling thanks to the integrated trailer) and his plane mode is
so much better than the one on the Optimus version of this mold. Admittedly I don't
have that version, but I don't think I need to in order to make that particular judgement. The larger wings do sooo much for plane and robot mode alike, the huge rifle is insanely fun to have him hold (even if it has nowhere to go in either alt-mode

), and the honestly incredible boost in general 'good-ness' since his last Generations-style toy is just the icing on the cake.
And #1 of course, no drumroll because everyone already knows, is Blitzwing! I can hardly quantify how much I love this guy. The colors are... mwah! The transformation is... mwah! Every mode (with the possible exception of the tank depending on your tastes, though I love it myself) is... mwah! I would be remiss not to mention the QC issues this guy seems to experience (not least the legs not quite tabbing in at first), but they don't bother me somehow and - in what must be a very rare case - the issues seem to
improve greatly over time. And the purple face does obscure a lot of that well-sculpted facial detail, but like Broadside earlier, I'm more considering the silver-faced one I Sharpied up myself since it's such a simple change to make. Everything Megatron does right, Blitz does
better, with the possible exception of coherent deco in tank mode (though again I'd say that's a trade-off for the beautiful colors this guy sports) - even the placement of those terrible-awful-bad-quality foil stickers means they don't peel quite as badly on this one! The possibilities to differentiate him from Megatron are amazingly varied, and putting Blitz in the classic "Spread wings tank-barrel-backpack tailfin-feet" configuration works
wonders. Did I mention you can even fold away the feet entirely and have him just stand on his tailfins like the G1 toy? Because you totally can, if that's your thing. I'm sure I've gone on enough about this guy now, but I will say that I honestly can't recommend him enough, even if you already have Megatron. Unless you're one of those killjoys who hated the Megatron mold, but then you're objectively wrong anyway so.
And man, that'll do it I guess. Sure was long, wasn't it? I did warn you. Hopefully there's some interesting information or thoughts buried in there somewhere; I honestly can't even remember what I wrote at this point so I just hope it's all coherent
