Alright Alright, Its their eyes. TFA is the first in over a decade to re-establish the classic G1 convention of blue eyes for Autobots and red eyes for Decepticons.
I didnt understand your question because you didnt specify that you were talking about the cartoons of each serries and not the toylines.
Your right in the cartoon of G1 and TFA all the good guys have blue eyes and the bad guys have red eyes but the same cant be said about the toylines.
I cant speek for TFA's toys but the Autobots of G1's toyline do not always have blue eyes and the Decepticons of G1's toyline do not always have red eyes.
It was a good question by the way.....I just wish you would have said you were looking for a
"cartoon only" answer.

No Problem

Crickets?! Oh God NO , I hope everyone didn't think that. Sheesh.
Well to answer your Question.... All of Dinobots appeared in the '86 Movie however Snarl was missing sometimes from the Group in certain scenes
but he did infact appear in other scenes like shown here
And for some reason when ever
"Snarl" was in the scene
"Swoop" would be missing......which always made me wonder.
