I wanted to start this thread to list transformers that can hold universe nightstick in his cannon mode. I removed it from the package for that very reason and thought this may be helpful to others , I'll start post a pic if possible.

Isn't any TF with a standard-sized fist hole (5mm?) going to be able to hold Nightstick?

Universe Dinobot is able to hold Nightstick quite securely with his claws configuration. Just wedge his fingers between Nightstick's would-be arms and hips. Unfortunately, I can't provide a picture.

Most of them? Hence "standard sized." Not trying to be a dick, but it would be easier to list the figures Nightstick ISN'T compatible with.

Pretty much any figure created with in the last 10 or 12 years or so that has a fist with a hole will be able to hold nightstick. That's the concept of inter-line compatibility and the standard fist hole.

Heck even movie figures such as Ironhide can hold him.
Beast Wars Optimus Primal has a fist hole that I'm pretty certain can hold him as well.

Basically figures that have claws or open palm hands such as Movie figures like Optimus Prime or Barricade and the New universe figures with open palms such as Ironhide are ruled out.

Everything else is sure to be able to hold him in gun mode.

As for minicons, well if I'm not mistaken Nightstick's peg is just a solid piece, no minicon pin inside it. So it can't attach to minicon ports, but it can attach to peg holes that minicons with pegs can attach to.

This threat makes me wish I had kept all of the targetmaster figures from all of the G1's I ever had/bought/sold/seen etc.

All of my unarmed Classics and Universe figures would become Targetmasters.

Anyone got 10 or so Firebolts, Nightsticks, or Recoils they want to sell

Several things involving the standard peg/hole size came up while I was messing with Nightstick. First of all, despite the current fist hole size being around for some time, it hadn't exactly been an overall standard until the Unicron trilogy toys were made. That's not to say toys like BW Primal and RID Prime can't hold them, but the major standard wasn't introduced until the Armada toy line.

Secondly I found out Classics Grimlock and Universe Onslaught have the same sized fist holes, and therefore Onslaught can hold Grimlock's weapons.

Thirdly, Mini-con Prowl + Nightstick = DOUBLE TARGETMASTERS!

I don't have Cyclonus handy right now.

But try plugging Nightstick into a Minicon's minicon port.

Such as Firebot:

I'm pretty sure he can plug into either port on Firebot there.

Can i sum up what other people have been trying to tell you

Every transformer (in a main line) made after armada will fit standard size 5mm peg holes.
In the 'unicron triology' it was a concious decision to make all weapons and unifying gimmicks usable across the line

that includes engergon, cybertron, universe and armada.
(there are rare exceptions - mostly TFs that lack 'hands')

Any Transformer produced before this time was not subject to this conscious design decision to have a standard size weapon peg hole (other than the head and target masters produced for the same line)

There for any G1, Beast era or RiD transformer will most likely not have a 5mm peg hole
(tho again there are some rare unintentional exceptions, like targetmasters, G1 soundwave or Transmetal megatron)

Does this make any sense?
