That's What I think too. Also, that's the script, not what's on screen. Same as with the Galvatron/ship-Cyclonus example, not everything on the page makes it to the screen. And it's the final product that counts as the most credible, correct? All other forms/versions are inferior in consideration.Percepter wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Let us consult a copy of the film's script, shall we?Emphasis mine.DISSOLVE TO:

THE SURFACE OF UNICRON
littering the otherwise beautiful technological expanse.
Those are coordinate adjectives describing a plural. As long as there is a dented Con, a dinged Con, and a dead Con amongst the group, that statement is true. However, that doesn't state that all of them are dead or even which ones are.

Beast Wars Megatron was my first transformer when I was about 6 or 7. I will be very pleased to add Kingdom Megatron to my ranks. He does look like he's got a lot going on in the back, because they changed how the legs transform a bit, and I doubt those leg covers fold very flat, but I can live with it. Cyclonus will also be an excellent replacement for my Battle in Space one, and of course the SS86 Hot Rod will be the long overdue replacement for the same set's Rodimus.
Cheetor looks serviceable and Rattrap looks a bit pudgy in alt mode but it's not like I'll be keeping him there.
Bring on Blackarachnia, Primal, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Paleotrex, and the rest! Here's to Saturday.

It may have already been adressed in the thread but I have to ask.
HOW ABOUT THE SCALE?
Because in this WFC fiction, G1 interact and cross over with BW. But in BW, the beast-bots are way, way smaller than the G1-bots. But in Kingdom, they are the "same size". So is it just two universes running in parallel, or is the BW scale reajusted to the G1 scale in fiction because of universe merging or something?

Basically the only place where bw bots were smaller then their ancestors was the original Beast Wars cartoon. Everywhere else has them being the same size now, and have done so for years following Takara's Robotmasters line.

Well, I hate to say it, folks, but this is what the 'Selects/Exclusives' culture has been paving the way for. They've been charging more for figures that have no discernable improvements over the retail lines, and we've been lapping it up. Repaint bundled with accessories that should have been with the main toys? Sold out in minutes. Two voyagers in a set with a 20% markup over two times the same mold at retail? Again, sold out in a flash.
We've no-one to blame for these rises but ourselves.

Um, what are you talking about? The selects releases have all been at regular retail price. Even most of the exclusives are at or pretty close to regular retail price. The Centurion Drone set is a bit of an outlier in that it technically isn't selects and does have the extras that you mention at a $30 price instead of $20 for a deluxe, but I'm not recalling any others quite like him.
I'm completely lost on the 2 voyagers you are talking about. All the Target and Amazon exclusives so far have been at the regular prices, aside from the Target clones set which doesn't really fit any of the retail slots for comparison.
Edit: Should have specified that my comments above are based on pricing in the US.

Hasbros still got plenty of room to mark up retail yet
from what us idjits have been willing to pay and that's not even factoring in small deluxes like cliff.
The only exclusive which were cheaper than retail size classes was the Rainmakers (and that only applies within the States) and it looks like takaras release is the full price of three voyagers.
Might vary per country but every single selects and exclusive has cost more from as little as £2 over over to nearly twice the price of an equivalent retail size class. If Kingdoms retail has gone up, it will likely be noticable on the selects and exclusives too
Selects leader galaxy shockwave >£60 retail shockwave <£50
Exclusvie leader Dead Prime >£70
Exclusive voyager GB Ecto >£45
Selects voyager Sandstorm £35 voyager retail £23
Selects voyager Megatron g2 >£30
Selects voyager redwing >£25
Selects Voyager and deluxe two packs (shattered glass) £50 versus retail of a voyager and deluxe.
Exclusive deluxe BTFuture £35
Selects deluxes >£20 Retail deluxes <£18
Selects deluxes two packs (diaclones) £50
I've not included galactic ods exclusives as we have not had a price for them over here yet.

If someones got the time and effort to make a price comparison thread be it over the years or just current, great stuff. Great time to collect and also a great time to not collect

Uh... Is this in the wrong thread or something? This is the Kingdom thread, talking about the new Megatron, Cyclonus, Cheetor, and Rattrap reveals. Nothing here about exclusives or anything selling out.Toizarus wrote:Well, I hate to say it, folks, but this is what the 'Selects/Exclusives' culture has been paving the way for. I think its connected to what Will newsed the other day talking about Walmarts listings and the class pricing, where Deluxes had gone up in cost.

Pricing seems to be a lot more flexible and wonky outside of the United States for some reason. Everyone buying Transformers from outside of the U.S., I can understand the frustration with inflated prices, especially due to importing foreign goods, but for us, the only thing that has changed has been $3.00 US for Deluxes. All of our Voyager, Leader, and exclusives prices have remained exactly the same, and there's no mark-up through Hasbro Pulse for any of the Selects releases so far. It might behoove you to have a separate discussion about pricing in another thread.

I'm calling it now. Next years SDCC set will be Hot Rod, Kup, Cyclonus, and Scourge with tweaked TV decos and their Targetmasters. Hopefully recast in regular plastic in the case of HR, Kup, and Scourge.

Alas, too true.
I am curious how they will approach Scourge in this line. We've had individual seekers alongside double and triple packed figures. What would be most likely for WFC Scourge and the [potential] Sweeps?

Nope. The only character I believe that is being double dipped on in both Kingdom and SS86 is Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime. Scourge was part of the SS86 rumors, while Cyclonus and Galvatron were part of Kingdom's, but because those three are part of the Movie Decepticon crew, they get talked about together a lot

I think when the listings got newsed, someone accidentally said his listing was for Kingdom instead for SS86, and that might be what you're remembering, but all of the leaks otherwise have always had him in SS886.
In other news, Kremzeek uploaded his own review of Warpath, and he actually has the shield/buckler piece TonTon was missing:
