Be glad you can find him to begin with. At first EBay had banned all auctions with MP Megatron because he was a realistic looking toy gun (even if oversized), which is against US laws. Plus, imported ones have to have the orange cap at the end of the barrel (laws again) which ruins the collector's value, so unaltered ones can be very high in demand.

My bro's one is unaltered, and ships end of December.

Prices'll vary like always. If you think the price is right, leap on it. It all comes down to how much you're willing to pay for him.

Some people want it now instead of waiting until December/January.

Some people want an unmodified version without taking a chance with customs. (in the USA)

Some people don't like losing on Ebay!

Right now someone has him on ebay for $129.95. It has the plug but I'm willing to remove it. I just had the question becuase I was looking and I see some bids as high as $200 on there and than I see a BIN for 129.95. Are people scared of the rust too?

Check the shipping. Sometimes lower But It Nows have a high shipping price.

I placed a preorder with BBTS a couple of weeks ago and mine has already arrived and shipped, it should arrive here tomorrow. Not sure where they came up with it, but I glad I didn't get him on Ebay like I was planning. Just hope this isn't some kind of error and they shipped me the wrong item. The preorder stated it would not arrive until December. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Yeah, I agree, the prices have been a bit screwy lately. My theory is that people are reacting to Megatron as if it's the stock market. Buyers know how expensive he will be once supplies run out but they are trying to get him as cheaply as possible.

So there are spikes of highs and lows in price as people see a lot of Megatron auctions, or few.

Were you one of the people that placed a preorder on, or before October 1st? If so, that's why you got him so early. BBTS said in one of their emails that "anyone who preordered Megatron on on or before October 1st, will receive him in our next shipment which is due any day now. Anyone who preorders after that will receive him in December when the next shipment comes through."

That's my guess as to why you're getting it now.

I couldn't bring myself to buy him. Maybe if he was somewhat moderately priced like $70 I would have. Like MP Starscream will be in the US soon.

That's the first time I've heard of someone actually getting their MP-05 held up at customs in the USA. What country did he buy it from? Did he end up loosing his money on it, or did they send it back to the sender? When did this happen?

ask sanmunkey although he hasen't been on lately, but I'll check back and let ya know. He said he got his $ back though
