Whick figures should have (more) repaints/remolds?

Postby woosh » Fri Mar 14, 2008 2:43 pm

There is a thread about figures that shouldn't so why not a thread about those that should?

I think Cyb Armorhide. Such a cool mold and just that bland black repaint. Oh, and Botcon huffer.
This not badass. It's so BAD, it's ASS!

Easy, Cybertron Voyager Starscream should definitely have more repaints at least into Skywarp and Thundercracker.

If they did a remold of Cybertron Override I'm sure they could make a nice Classics Arcee.

Titaniums Optimal Optimus as Primal Prime would be a nice repaint, a remold if they got rid of his mouth.

Energon Bulkhead deserves a repaint.

Cybertron Defense Hot Shot sure needs a repaint.

None they should spend the time making new molds and figures. But since that won't happen classics starscream into sunstorm and classics bumblebee into goldbug with metalic gold paint and a new head sculpt.

He did get one, however, the line was canceled before the new color scheme could be released.

Energon Bulkhead deserves a repaint. It got one in the form of Energon QuickstrikeImage

Cybertron Defense Hot Shot sure needs a repaint.

I guess he warrants one that is not an exclusive:

Repaints don’t really take away from the new molds you get, I’ve said this time and time again, repaints make money for what they are and easy as pie to make and that’s why you see so many of them.

Anyway, I think there are a ton of molds that need some repaints, some were great figures with horrible paint schemes. I really wish more Transmetals and beast machines figures got some more repaints without that awful chrome paint. I prefer my TFs without unintentional battle damage thank you.

I second that notion. Make the seekers (etc) look the same but tranform different! Realistic...no, but that would be ideal!

I'd love it if they did repaints/remolds of the Transmetals. There were some good figures in there. I'd LOVE to see the Energon Terrorcons all repainted and retooled a bit along with the Cybertron Scrapmetal molds. Would make for great troop building.

an American release of Classics Megs in silver and red.

I'm still getting used to the fact that the 1986 movie takes place 3 years in the past now.

I agree. Wasn't he kind of a rare figure—only sold as a two pack with Vector Prime? I would definately buy him if I had the chance.

I wouldn't mind a Nemesis Prime figure made from the Movie Leader Class Optimus.

Yup, that's correct. Though to this day I have no idea why Hasbro decided that.

I mean the mold was very good, and the size as a Voyager definitely worth a solo release, and yet they decide to super size him instead and give him some electronics.
Definitely one of Hasbro's worst ideas IMHO.

Hasbro is full of bad ideas. Giving Energon Prime a mouth for no reason is a prime example.

QFT! I'd love to ad a voyager Starscream to my Cybertron collection. I had an opportunity to buy a Supreme Cyb SS collecting dust at a Kmart just last summer. But man, he just didn't seem worth $60, just a big, bulky figure with little articulation. Pass.

good call on the Omega Supreme G1 repaint. B-) i'm actually interested in having Hasbro release EOS in gray, red and yellow.

another option (though ugly as hell) would be to release EOS in Omega Spreem colors (yuck).

can't agree much on Titanium Optimal Optimus. mold's too small for an epic figure, even though its going to be molded in plastic.

No vote for C-Sideways yet? I'd take two or three good recolors of that one.

I agree with the Voyager C-Starscream mold, he needs his two brothers something terrible.

I'd also like to see repaints of:

Armada Wheeljack
Energon Sharkticon
E-Bruticus Maximus
E-Leader Prime
C-Scattorshot
C-Dirt Boss
C-Evac
C-CD Scattorshot
C-Menasor
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Rijie Seeking:

Botcon 2009--Souvenir Sweeps
Botcon 2010--Souvenirs Rapido, Scorch/Shattered Glass Ravage

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!

Here's another vote for Starscream. Would be nice to get him in actual G1 Starscream colors, not Thrusts.

Energon Sharkticon would be great repainted as G1 Sharkticon, or Depth Charge, or Cybershark.

I'd like to see CD Hot Shot as Rodimus Prime.

CD Scattorshot as Perceptor.

Animated Starscream as Cyclonus and E-Evac as Scourge, both with new heads, would be sweet.

C-Mudflap as Inferno, Grapple, and Hauler.

C-Thunderblast as Elita-1.

And don't forget Cybertron Unicron as Bludgeon.

Just to name a few.

I wouldn't mind if they made him a Voyager but I'd want him to be on scale with the Autobots, Maximals are like minicons compared to Autobots and as big Optimal Optimus was he was still less than half the size of Optimus Prime.
