Even though he's not really a Prime

I think the original Leader (or whatever it was) Armada Prime was terrible too. Bought, opened it, transformed it once and decided to give it to my nephew.
Armada Is sucky too

I can't think of many I dislike that much. Armada Optimus Prime's Super mode maybe. Alternator Optimus Prime is pretty garbage. He looks nice but he's a floppy wad of trash. Classics 2 pack Optimus Prime, same deal as the Alternator. Looks nice, is crap. Of course, I'm a bit biased. Prime and Convoys are my collecting focus.

I only have experience with G1, classics, movie and cybertron lines. Total newb here, FYI.
I'll say ... with my limited knowledge. Classics Deluxe Prime. Terrible alt mode!
Bot mode looks half decent, but there's no way to lock down that stupid spin punch gimmick ... AFAIK.

But... I wuv him? Combine Wing Saber with him and he becomes much better instantly. As a child's plaything he's fantastic. Based on his basic mode sure, he isn't pretty. Otherwise he's neat.

I love Energon Prime, probably the most playable Prime ever with Powermasters Optimus Prime. I love Machine Wars Prime as well, unique look and transformation.
No, the worst is Classics DLX Optimus Prime. Alternate mode is 0/10 and it has the stupidest gimmick ever (although Armada DLX Optimus Prime's Parkinson gimmick was equally retarded).

Yup yup...and even if you pull back on that black pin, that changes only WHERE he spins around rather than stopping it...so instead of just the windows spinning wildly, now the whole cab will turn around in place. This thing is f'ing terrible.

Powermaster Prime. I've hated it since my childhood days, when I missed out on the original Prime, and Powermaster was all you could get. I'm not saying its the suckiest, but it does suck. He's big, fat, wears a nappy, not hugely posable, and you also miss out on the extra stuff that came with the Japanese Ginrai version. Of course the 2 parts I had to lose were the powermaster and the big head, and with those out of the way it becomes even more crappy.
Actionmaster Prime also sucked, but it was an actionmaster, so it was supposed to.
I eventually did get a real Optimus. Unfortunately it was the bloody-eyed Mexican made variant, which also sucked.

The black tab should lock the whole upper body in place. It will then just ratchet instead of spinning uncontrollably. so you can actually pose it. And only the top part of his Torso actually spins. his waist doesn't really move so i fail to see what exactly you are complaining about.
Anyway, yes his truck mode is awful. but he looks really nice in Robot mode. And mine can very much stay in place if i pull the black tab all the way out.

Prime with sore eyes. Maybe due to the Mexican heat.

In alt mode, his waist moves, making the truck completely worthless, IMO. It's supposed to be kept in place by his scrotum (for lack of a better term) but unlike AC/DC, he doesn't have balls big enough for the job.

As I said yeah his alt mode sucks deeply, his legs are too heavy for the waist connector, so yeah thats really bad. But since he's usually not in vehicle mode, It doesn't really matter to me. Besides hes got a very cool looking gun.
I thinking that with a few alterations, the mould wouldn't be half bad. Still his robot mode does look really cool.
I'm thinking of getting another one juts to repaint him black, and call him Scourge.

Hmm ... thanks for informing me about pulling that black pin. Once I lock him down, he will never get transformed again, EVER!!!
If I didn't immediately want to throw him against the wall after opening him, I may have spent the time to figure this out.
Actually, his gun is probably cooler than he is.
His gimmick isn't really a spin punch either ... it's actually the perfect axis of rotation needed to properly accept the inevitable b*tch slap from megs. Just think classic Tom & Jerry. The episode when they are fighting each other via RC robot versions of themselves. The fight at the end kinda reminds me of primes rotation, but it's Tom's head that does it. IIRC.

Right, but this is a thread about the worst prime ever, and if a Prime (really, any TF, not just Prime) doesn't have at least a reasonable alt mode, it's a failure. If I wanted an action figure that doesn't transform or can't be transformed (or shouldn't be transformed, in this case), I'm not interested. I didn't do my research into the fig first, and I only have myself to blame for having him in my collection.
