There have been gazzodles of updates of characters/figures over the years and some are really good.

However, some are just plain horrible.

What are your personal worsts?

I know I will get some flack from this but I absolutely hate Classics Mirage. Don't get me wrong,the figure isn't a bad one in either mode.

But it isn't Mirage. The head is all wrong and the body is...gangly.

I actually like his repaints, especially Fracture.

Also high on the crap list is Goldbug. Cool head, but one of the worst bot modes ever (even with the rolling thing)

I have been really, really happy with the line. If I had to choose a few, I would say Silverbolt and Octane.

Silverbolt because of the US colorscheme, and the fact that it is so simple to transform with his chicken legs.

Octane just because I think they could have done a lot more with it had it been a larger figure. The tanker mode has a lot of work that is needed, and something just feels wrong about him as a whole.

That being said, they are still both buys in my mind, but so are most Deluxe and above transformers out there right now for me.

Besides, the worst update has to be Universe Tankor/Octane. Utter piece of crap. Two vehicle modes that both rely on a lump of kibble with no use in robot mode, and a shortass robot mode with a passing resemblance to the original. Shockingly bad.

i agree with this. the mirage update pretty much kicks a lot of azz.

I was disappointed that Galvatron wasn't a Voyager sized, especially now that we know about the walker tank 3rd mode.

Him and Tankor/Octane are the least desirable IMO. However I still liked them enough to purchase them.

There's a few I'm really disappointed in...

First, Powerglide...
Yes, I think he's too big.
If they would've made him deluxe class fine.
In addition to that, I would've then liked to have seen Galvatron Voyager class.
But also, I don't like the look of him in general.
So, for me, it's a double dose of letdown.

Next, Blaster...
Give this guy a new mold. Period.

Next, Dump Load...
Just looks like a terrible terrible figure.
And similar to Powerglide, taking a spot in a larger class size.

Other than these, I'm not going to complain.

heavy load and blaster are certainly crap.

i do disagree on powerglide though. even though he is too big, he still is a good figure. i like him quite a lot to be honest. i do think hasbro could have used a different character to fill his slot in the Ultra Class however (i.e. galvatron).

1. Universe Blaster. Aside from being a repaint of a figure that was a terrible bother to transform, this just simply is not Blaster.

2. Galvatron. This is my least favorite of the deluxes. I want Galvatron to be a laser cannon. Voyager class would be nice. I don't understand why he was made into a tank. But I could have reluctantly accepted the tank, if only the figure and transformation had been designed better.

Yup, they should have made Galvatron a voyager class, and made Powerglide a deluxe. The universe has now equaled itself again.

I think Grimlock could have been better. Especially now that I have TFA Grimlock and we seen the MP version. I still like the figure, but I wish he would have been a Voyager and they had did something different with the legs.

Also have to agree on Galvatron, should have been Voyager and kept his third mode. Would like for Blaster to have gotten a new mold rather than being a clown colored sleath bomber.

Silverbolt for me. Sure there are other that are just as crappy as he is (like Galvatron), but at least they were fun to transform, this guy was not. He fails in both aesthetics and transformation.

Universe Ironhide. The head thing bothers me way more than it should. I don't see why they couldn't have just stuck his head on a ball joint though, because that way at least he could look straight ahead even if the pieces didn't line up right.

Also I'm aware of the head fix and I'm still in the process of doing it, but still.

Powerglide is just wrong. Wrong size, wrong color. Actually, now that I think about it, the only Ultra class one I chose to spend money on was Onslaught (which was great btw). I just thought they weren't good. Same goes with the Voyager class recently. Blaster looked like crap, Heavy Load looked like a heavy load of something else, Dropshot(?)- i don't even know what was going on there. Blades/Springer- eh.

I personally am not a fan of taking an old mold from a different line, repainting it, and calling it a new character. It doesn't fit in. The Lamborghini brothers, Ratchet/Ironhide, Prowl/Sideswipe/Silverstreak-ok, but do something other than paint to differentiate them (different head sculpt, transformation).

That is just me, shooting off. Please don't get offended if you love repaints.

Octane was a HUGE disappointment for me. (and it seems other as well)

Also Cybertron Soundwave. Really looked forward to him and he was a waste of time and money.

Yeah, initially I was excited bout the Springer/Ratbat 2 pk...
I've passed on it a few times now.
For me, looking at that figure, it just doesn't look enough like Springer to me.
So then I think, why not save $10 and go for Blades?
Then I see that figure, and it's just too much red for me...
I'm hoping at some point one of them goes on sale.

I did forget another big one for me, Classics Megatron. The head is decent and the fusion cannon is cool but other than that, he's way too colorful and skinny to be a Megs figure.

I agree and disagree on Grimlock. When compared to G1 Grimlock, Henkei is just as tall in robot mode..............but he was remade into a leaner muscled runner and not a hulking caveman type. So if he were compared in human terms, Hekei Grimlock is like Spiderman while G1 Grimlock more like the Hulk.

As for Galvatron, he should have been a Voyager or Leader, around the size of powerglide or something.

I have to disagree with Cybertron Soundwave......wellGalaxyforce Soundwave wayyyyyy kicks it's robotic @ss.
