Picking the best is tricky, everything I've gotten lately has been pretty good with 1 exception...

Worst: Animated leader Megatron. At first he was awesome, until I noticed the paint on the cockpit was gooey and came right off. Then his right shoulder got loose and would wobble, which makes the intkes on his alt mode misalign horribly.

Best- Onslaught... though Nemesis Prime impressed me as well.

Worst- Legends Hound (I figured he'd be to scale with the deluxe Seekers and bought him rather impulsively)

WORST:
Alternators Prime. I only bought him cos I found him in a shop at half price. He's so s**t. Just a big lump of kibble.

BEST:
Binaltech Prowl. After changing the legs around (I posted a thread about it) he's poss my favourite of the line.

I've not bought TFs for a couple of months now, but that is because I've had no money.

Best -

G1 Ramjet, all accessories, C8.5 condition, 100% white - £9

G1 Mirage, no accessories, torso glued to legs (but had spoiler\feet and good chrome), junker, no yellowing - £1 (I combined this with another 50p G1 Mirage that had poor chrome and no feet\spoilers to make an acceptable C7 with Citaines logo still intact) this may be the first time the accessories will cost more than the actual transformer.

Worst -

G1 Prime, no accessories, C7 condition, no yellowing - £4. I had two already, so is "worst" due to the impulsiveness of the pur
chase.

Like another poster, I haven't bought a lot lately so will go by the year so far.

Best:

Revoltech Rodimus. looks so nice with reissues Prowl and Jazz. Makes me wish Classics Rodimus was a basic.

Encore Ironhide and custom head. Can't put him down.

G1 Thrust. Waited years but now have all original seekers.

G1 Metroplex. Looks great with my WSTF collection including all the KO gestalts.

G1 Scourge.

Henkei Megatron.

Death Star Darth Vader.

Worst:

Activator Bumblebee. Like the car but the smiley, cartoony head just bugs me. Like to see him with a G1 BB head.

Universe Tankor. Want to like him but like Astrotrain, I feel he's too small. Truck mode reminds me of WW Motormaster's alt mode. This reinforces my opinion because a larger version repainted as WW Motormaster would be cool.

G1 Clampdown. Want to like him but I already have Red Alert. Just too similar and I just can't accept a countach as a cop car. Too sporty.

Best:

Encore Starscream(He arrives tomorrow!!!!)

Universe Galvatron. I have to disagree about him. Yea, he falls apart during transformation and he's poorly constructed. However, like another poster said, he's really starting to grow on me. He'sa really great looking robot.

Worst:

Universe Galvatron. Should be taller, transformation is a nightmare.

The best bet with Galvatron is to get him to Robot mode and leave him there. All in all, still way better looking than the actual G1 original.

I love my omega supreme and acid storm. I also love the animated line.....jazz is a boss. I hate tankor. hate it.

Best:

BT Convoy. The articulation is lacking due to the design, but I feel the heft granted by the die-cast makes up for it. Having it actually made me swap my alt figures for BTs on my shelf. Next up is the silver Jazz.

Worst:

Haven't made one this fall, but the universe ultras don't seem to be doing it for me anymore. They feel lacking compared to the voyagers and deluxes.

blurrz mentioned how great the off-road Ironhide is, and i have to agree. i bought that figure just to mess with, and i ended up getting the premium series Ironhide because i liked it so much. that is one of the best robot modes in the entire movie line. also, the alt mode is really accurate. good toy.

First, I will state for the record it is a GREAT time to be a trans fan!

I'm digging all the universe and animated stuff. Even the stuff I don't really love is pretty good.

Top spot goes to Animated Ultra Magnus. Hands down, no question about it.

I just opened him and I'm blown away! One of the best TFs I own. This has me all the more excited for my City Commander. Just, wow. Looks good in both modes, has a lot of playability with all the guns & stuff. Could stand more articulation, especially in the arms, and the shoulder transform is a bit wonky, but that is nit picking one one of my new fav figures.

Also in the win column for me are Animated Blitzwing & Swoop. I like 'em both. Also a big fan of Sunstreaker & Sideswipe. It's a great mold that looks distinct in both transforms. A 5 second leg mod to Sideswipe helps distinguish them even more.

I could go on and on with the love. I'm quite a happy collector at the moment.

In the BAD column is the stand out loser for me, Universe Galvatron. To be fair, I kind of knew I was not going to relish him going in. I do like his alt mode quite a bit, and that's how he's sitting. Oddly I may spring for another as an army builder for my "Heralds of Unicron" if I can get one cheap.

Other mentions for the low end are Prowl & Bluestreak. Two of my fav G1 bots, and I love the alternators incarnations too, but these are just not doing it for me. I think it is the weird neck. It kind of has a giraffe effect with the plate it sits on. It stands out a bit more on Prowl because of his color scheme. But again, while I'm not in love with these, they are still decent figures.

I only recently started collecting. My purchases thus fat and my rating of 1-5:

Music Label Soundblaster- 5. Good toy, decent MP3 player.
Masterpiece Megatron- 5
Universe Prowl- 3. Okay mold, but could have been better. gave it away.
Crossoevrs Venom- 4. Some problems, but decent for what it's meant to be
Universe Fracture- 5
Movie Starscream:
tan original: 4
Thudnercracker: 4
G1 Starscream: 5
Deep Space: 4. The scratch & nick prone silver paint is a minus point
Universe Onslaught: 5. Would be a 10 if he combined
Animated Blackarachnia: 4. Could be a tough better
Animated deluxe Cybertron Optimus Prime: 4. Very good but not perfect
Animated voyager Optimus Prime: 5. Bulky and solid, the axe is a bit lame though.

I'd go with Masterpiece Megatron as best, Universe Prowl as worst.
