Well, now we have here the Final and Probably the Most anticipated thread in the Transformers Unicron trilogy..Transformers Cybertron!!! This series hands down has some of the Best Robot representations of any of the Two previous Transformers series, Armada, and Energon. Specifically Optimus prime!

Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus Prime:

So here we have the Crown Jewel of the Unicron Trilogy. This is probably one of the best renditions of Optimus Prime since Robots In Disguise.
Image

This optimus Prime is a Leader class figure, this form is the one used in the Cybertron television series.
Image
Image

In addition to his standard robot mode, he can combine with his rear 'trailer' section to form a heavily armed super mode.

Image
Image
Image

There is some difference of opinion on how the super mode of Leader Class Optimus Prime is supposed to be assembled.... Takara toys and the television series portrayed with the wings up and his two large guns underslung...
Image
Image
Image

On the other hand..Hasbro sold the toy with pictures and instructions having the wings down and the guns over the shoulders....

Image
Image
Image
Commercials and repainted models by Hasbro went back to the way Takara assembled the super mode.

That trailer section can also form an independent weapons platform, useable by anyone.
Image

In 2006 a Costco exclusive of Optimus Prime packaged with Wingsaber and a DVD (with Armada Supercon Optimus Prime printed on it!) of the episode United was sold, again with the wings-under gun-over super mode.
Image
There was also a Japanese Exclusive Toys R Us version sold as well.
Image

The combined form is called Sonic Wing Saber mode!! I want to take a second and point out that this Optimus prime is like a convergence on everything that has come before it in Generation One..
Image
its like they took G-1 prime and combined him with Victory Saber!!
This Image of him in Sonic Wing Saber Mode, is a direct throw Back to the over the shoulder gunned and straight winged Victory Saber..which is the Victory Leo and Star Saber combined form from Transformers Victory circa Generation One, Japan canon..
Image
See the similarity??
Image

He Can also combine with Leobreaker (or Nemesis Breaker)
Image
Image
Image

Though an interesting concept, I still prefer the Sonic Wing Saber mode..
Image
Image

He can use Metroplex's axe or Vector Prime's sword.

At first, Optimus Prime's (Galaxy Convoy in the Japanese version) alt-mode is a futuristic fire-truck, although some believe it to be some sort of mobile weapons platform (the show itself treats it as a fire-truck).
Image
Image
Image
Image

This can also transform into a wing mode, with wings and cannons on each side of the truck.
Image

He came with a Cyber Key:
Image

His face, designed in the classic Prime style, merges the two mouth-plate elements - a slitted version to expose his mouth, like Beast Wars Optimus Primal did on the television series and a full mouth-plate which can rise to cover it. What a nice touch that was!! It really makes you feel as if they combined elements of the Generation one Optimus prime with his colors, and such, and aspects of Beast Wars Optimus primal, and lastly elements of Fire Convoy from RID...
Image

He has great articulation and slightly complex transformations..
Image

I have also compiled some size comparison pics with the previous Armada and Energon incarnations..
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

A cool team up!!
Image
Image
Image
Image

Overall I'd say that if your going to purchase any Cybertron Toys, it's a Must have to get the Cybertron or Galaxy Force Optimus Prime, I vote him the best Leader Class Transformers Cartoon Optimus Prime ever!!
Image

The Facts are undeniable..this Optimus prime has the looks and feel of the Original and the Classics Voyager, has a G-1 Type Matrix in his chest, , is a good homage to Starconvoy, Has the Fire Truck weapons thing like RID Optimus Prime, the similar faceplate aspects and characterization as Optimus Primal from Beast Wars..
Image
the look of Victory Saber when combined with Jetfire..Superb articulation!!! Honestly this is the Best Prime Toy ever made!!!

This is the Every Man.. or Every Generation prime!!
Image
Cheers!

That's a little harsh. Skywarp-2 put together some pretty good topics to discuss.

And Yup, Skywarp-2, you're right as rain. GF/C Prime is one of the best Prime's ever made. I have the Cybertron and KO GF versions.

and whoever was making a snide comment, I think Skywarp's reviews are pretty cool. I hope he does more with the cybertron line.

Thanks for the compliment!! I was actually gonna do the Black and Red version next as a review, seeing as how there were some very interesting changes made to that toy..

zodconvoy wrote:Wow. Congradulations. You have the same access to Ryan and Remy's galleries as the rest of us. Good job.

Honestly, I am not a good pic taker, and I don't have a digital camera, also some of these figures I don't actually own, but in all of my searches on the Web there are only 3 Websites that give us such great and wondeful full color and high rez images of these toys..

So why should I take crappy images of these toys for others to see, when there are so many great ones already out there for us to enjoy.. :???:

I tend to think of myself as advertising those galleries and
those peoples talents versus just rehashing their images.. we all know where to look, this thread isn't about that, it's about placing them here so that we all can discuss, Gawk, and maybe even help ourselves make up our minds on wether to finally buy one or not..

You can look at a gallery all day, but in a thread where fans can relate and discuss the toy with images to go along, it really makes you more likely to understand what your getting yourself, especially with the inflation in the market, and Counterpunch's aptly put.."Pay now or Pay later"..;)^

Thanks for the support and yeah, I completely agree with you.. I had that same problem, only I passed on everything part way through Armada..doing these threads and having the fan feedback really helped open my eyes about the Unicron trilogy and the merchandise..

I'm glad I could help!

I recently bought the Galaxy Force Optimus Prime on eBay, it was 35.00 plus 12.00 Shipping.. I wanted the US release, but it was too expensive..and the only other version left was the red and Black ones, and I really wanted the red and Blue..Show accuracy and all.. /:)

Huh?? that image of the Key is actually from the Galaxy version, the one released in Japan.. Remy's images are of the same one I just bought on eBay.. the Galaxy version.. the Seibertron verison is the US release that Ryan took images of..

I think it's only the Galaxy Red/Black version that had the Golden Keys, and the Golden Matrix, with Blue in the center as well..

EDIT: Oh I see what you mean, the gold around the key... sorry I misunderstood what you wrote.. 8-} Silly me..

I have been secretly covetting Cybertron from a far for the last 7 Months, but with the Movie and all, I was too distracted.. since things have calmed down a bit.. I'm totally about hooking myself up some Cybertron figures..

You guys are great, and it makes me happy to know there are people out there who get what I've been doing.. and the main reason to place all these images in here is not to be a jerk or anything, but why not have fan discussions and records of cool robots that you can reread after you have printed them out..

read it on the subway, on a long train ride, or an Airline flight..in the Bathroom.. anywhere you want and if you have to share the Computer at home.. it makes for a good read waiting the time for you to get back on and join in the discussion..

it's like a magazine article that you can keep coming back to over and over and over again with some thing new each time..plus you can hand out your thread magazine to your friends who have no internet access, or as an advertisement to join the fandom, and they can see where the fandom is ..and what's Hot and What's Not!!

I do this for you guys.. :PEACE:

Wow there is indeed a knockoff out there of Cybertron Optimus Prime..

Well because I suck at taking Pics, I had my brother whose got a Digital camera take some shots since My Business is in his city, I figured I'd drop by.....and at the risk of Spousal complaint.. I might add...HMMMMM. Maybe I shoulda called her???

Anyways....

My newly bought Galaxy Prime!! He's freaking Huge!! The Hasbro Box is considerably thinner, but just as tall.. but the Takara Version is massive and Very colorful.. with lots of Bot images all over the box!! Nice..
Image

Here are those Movie Leader Prime comparisons.. Ryan does it better.... though, my brother Jon did the best he could on short notice..

Image
Image
Image
Image
I love the side by side shot.. it's very military and cinematic..Nice!!!
Image
Image

In my opinion, though Leader Optimus Prime is cool.. Cybertron/Galaxy just buries him on size and all around hotness!!! I would have thought that Prime's autobot symbols were smaller on Galaxy Prime's shoulders but their actually quite large.. and Movie Prime only has one, which is on his foot.. I always thought he should atleast have one somewhere else.. but oh well....

Because I don't live there anymore, I had to place him MIB.... and put in secure storage, I. E. Attic in Plastic sealed Bin.. One day I shall have my personal office slash art studio... one day...

Wow I'm very impressed by Cybertron Prime... although I think he literally has too many guns on him, that's the way the Cybertron series worked, and to that end, he does it 10/10. In many ways 2007 Prime looks almost more 'biomechanical' than like a super mecha robot, which Cybertron Prime does really well.

and I agree with the autobot symbol, Leader Prime deserved something better.

Wow!!! that crystal version looks pretty tight!! I liike the all gold version too.. I seem to remember reading that there are golden or semi golden molded parts that are under the chromium Gold plastic.. like think of them as Gundam joints ect.. is that the case for the Lucky Draw??

Also between the US Cybertron Prime and the Galaxy Force Takara Prime, do you see any noticable differences? I didn't really see a difference between My acquisition and the seibertron images in the gallery..

great thread as always Skywarp-2 :APPLAUSE:

These reviews are wonderful reads and it is great to have some of the new people here on the boards contributing something positive instead of the usual "I hate my local (name) store because they don't have any TF movie figures in stock" threads.

Cyb OP is my favorite version of Prime so far. It embodies everything I think a Prime should be. He's not a fat runt that needs power limbs (Energon Prime) nor is he reliant on his trailer for strength (Armada Prime). His trailer just gives him added firepower and flight but his normal mode has the strength and power needed to defeat the bad guys (in my eyes at least). This figure also has a removable matrix (finally) and I love the moving face shield. The only thing I don't like about my figure (and there was no way of seeing this while in its box) was some silver paint got smeared on his face.

So who is the next on your review list? Wingsaber?

Yeah, I don't normally comment, but I do enjoy your threads, Skywarp-2. Good reviews of figures with great compilations of beautiful photos make for a very nice read. Plus, it's nice to see some positive threads here that are about something other than complaining. :) And for beginners, it's a great resource that could help them decide whether to buy a figure or not. 8)

Getter, which version is that metallic-colored one, Crystal? :HALUC: It's rather wonderful.

The gold one is a Lucky Draw, I think there are like 5 in the world. The Red Metallic one is the the one that came in the Japanese TRU Exclusive, Prime/Wing Saber/Coby's Ramble three-pack. The Prime is Crystal with metallic accesories, though the cab part is not crystal.

I like the metallic colors on the Crystal version, it looks very nice. Often chrome can be a bit too much, but not in this instance.

First off, thanks for the compliments..

Actually I was thinking of doing a Decepticon this time... let me get settled in here at the house and i'll get the necessary thing togehter to show off one of my most desired Decepticons ever!!!!

Yeah, I agree with you.. Until I received My Galaxy Force Optimus prime i was sckeptical of his coolness.. but after having this figure and doing the reviews, i will say, that in my opinion, he is the best Prime ever!! Masterpiece optimus is in a class all by himself.. but Leader Class Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus prime is the hands down best transfoirmer from any mass released line, that I have evr owned.. He even beat out RID Optimus Prime!! That I thought was impossible, until I saw Galaxy Force

kirbenvost wrote:Yeah, I don't normally comment, but I do enjoy your threads, Skywarp-2. Good reviews of figures with great compilations of beautiful photos make for a very nice read. Plus, it's nice to see some positive threads here that are about something other than complaining. :) And for beginners, it's a great resource that could help them decide whether to buy a figure or not. 8)

Yeah, It's nice to help out the new comers as well as myself in the process.. I don't own all these figures, But I am interested in picking them up.. but even with such a lavish and wonderful gallery here on seibertron, it is hard to decide what you want or should buy.. mainly because you have to go into each and every seperate image gallery to look at those figures..

I decied to do a 3 way thread that links to themselves to provide the maximum exposure for those characters and toys to help people decide what they may want to buy.. Old timers like me who passed over the Unicron Trilogy and other series from either ignorance or just plain stupidity feel lost.. especially having not seen the cartoon..

So here we have a chaqnce to cview what we misswed, make an informed decision with Fandom help, and buy those figures that we missed..later on DVD we can recap those episodes that we missed..

Unfortunately This has to be my last pictures thread..Not to say that any of my later posts will be entirely devoid of images, it's just that I have been warned by the MODS that if I continue sdoing this, that they may delete my thread.. so I have to make this last one count..it's all about bandwith..

I'm not mad at that..even though i save most of the images to my desk top and then upload to photobucket.. that is really the only links I'm using..still I want to play byt he rules and make this forum easily accessible for everyone..But I will finish this cybertron Thread with small additions to the others as I go..

Eventually I'm gonna save those pages to disk and offer it as a newsletter for those who PM me..

you could still do your threads and limit the pics you post to one or two per figure and just post the links to the corresponding gallery. That way you get to keep doing great threads like this and you keep the mods happy by reducing the images in it. If the viewer wants to see more pics, they can click on the links.

Yeah I suppose...but then I wouldn't be able to do this!!

the Decepticon I was speaking of..

Sideways:

Sideways (Noisemaze in Japan) adhearing to his faction-swapping, confusion-sewing ways, performing many baffling actions that served only to cause trouble for both Autobots and Decepticons...

Eventually, he chose to back Starscream in his attempt to overthrow Megatron, piloting the starship Atlantis for him as they headed for Gigantion, the Giant Planet, location of the final Cyber Planet Key needed to close the black hole and save the universe. It was there, at last, that Sideways's true story was finally revealed...

Cybertron incarnation of Sideways is an orange and black spacecraft.
Image
Sideways was an inhabitant of the mysterious world known as Planet X, a planet of warmongering conquerors who crushed all worlds that stood in their way. Their reign of terror in the galaxy came to an end eons ago when they crossed paths with the people of Gigantion, whose Cyber Planet Key powers made their world a formidable opponent by enlarging the planet and it;s inhabitants to giant size, therefore being able to fend off the massive Planet X armies. The inhabitants of Planet X saw no option but to unleash their most powerful weapon, but in do so, they destroyed their own world, as well.
Image

The survivors were scattered across the galaxy, until the time came that only Sideways and one other, Soundwave, were the only known survivors of the race. Seeking revenge against Gigantion for its role in the destruction of their home, Sideways and Soundwave had allied themselves with Unicron - hence, Sideways's role in the war over the Mini-Cons, Transformers Armada...

Now, with Unicron destroyed, Sideways had turned his attention to enacting revenge once more, and sought the power of the Cyber Planet Keys to accomplish it.
Image

When inserted into the shield on his arm, his Cyber Key causes his Autobot symbol to switch to a Decepticon one, and triggers the release of four translucent blades. His vehicle mode wings can store on his legs, or can be removed and wielded in his hands, either as a single or double-bladed weapon. The figure was later packaged with a DVD of the episode Hidden when first released, and in a two-figure "Critical Path" pack with Red Alert as a Target Exclusive.

Image
Besides a set of similar horns, the lack of resemblance to Sideways's Armada incarnation is not unintentional - Cybertron's Japanese counterpart, Transformers: Galaxy Force, is not a continuation of the Armada and Energon universe. The original intention for the series was for it to co-exist with its two predecessors, but the Japanese production staff opted not to follow this path, hence this Sideways (there called "Noisemaze"), is not the same individual as the Armada character.....

In Japan, the original Sideways was simply an aspect of Unicron, but the character's continued existence into the Cybertron series has seen the American production use comic books, bios, tech specs and other media to fill in the gaps and plot holes that result, crafting a story the story related in the main body of this article to tie together the two incarnations of the character
Image
Soundwave, meanwhile, had been seeing to the resurrection of Unicron (as chronicled in the comic strip available exclusively through the Official Transformers Collectors Club), and with that goal accomplished, joined with Sideways on Gigantion. When Starscream and Megatron - now Galvatron - engaged in their final duel for control of the Omega Lock and Cyber Planet Keys, Sideways and Soundwave attempted to intervene, but the resultant energies released sundered reality and blasted them both, along with Starscream, into another dimension.

In the closing credits of the final episode of the series, a montage sequence shows Sideways and Soundwave on Planet X once more. Presumably, in the dimension they had been sent to, they were able to find that universe's version of Planet X and install themselves there.

Note: In the Japanese versions of Micron Legend (Armada) and Galaxy Force (Cybertron), Doubleface and Noisemaze share no connection, as the two shows are not considered part of the same universe.

And its this information and images of one of the baddest Evil Bots ever!!! This Is the sole reason I'm on a huge hunt to find him!!! He is just a freaking sweet character, and his story just makes him even more loveable!!
