My question for those of you going to Botcon is this...

Are you excited yet? I am to a degree but for some reason it being so early this yuer and having to dig out of having been a little broke this winter I think I was a lot more hyped being around a month away last year. Your thoughts?

I can't wait either and i'll also be waiting in line to get my set too! This is my first Botcon so i'm really pumped! I wanted to go last year but did'nt make it so this year is something i've been looking forward to for a long time! Hopefully i'll see some of you fellow seibertronians there!

I'm only modestly excited. In all honesty if it wasn't an easy 4hr drive for me I wasn't going to go. This may be my last BotCon and I've been to 10 straight including this one. I'm much more a G1 collector and beyond that just O.Prime figs from each line. Dealers have less and less genuine G1 stuff(especially the pieces I want) each of the last few years. I'm not concerend with rerelease vol5(Encore snooze pieces) of the G1 stuff either. Armada,Energon,Rid,Cybertron don't interest me with the exception of a few pieces outside Prime. Beast stuff I have just about all of and the Movie line doesn't overly thrill me. I did buy a few pieces but even then it was during buy 1 get 1 sales. Unless the new animated line/cartoon really hooks me I can see this as my last con for awhile. The base price to register is crazy compared to other cons!
I'm more jazzed to hang out with my friend from Philly who I only see twice a year than I am the actual show at this point.

I'm actually from the Philly burbs, do you have ties to that area?

I really hope to meet a few Seibetronians this year as well.

I don't have ties to the area. The friend I'm referring to lives there and I met him at my first BotCon in 1999 although we didn't become good friends till later after running into each other for a few years. We are also doing San Diego Comic Con in July.

I am starting to get excited as it gets closer, it just seems so odd to have it at this time of the year.

I'm in Blue group, also. I can't wait to trade some of my stuff at Botcon this year, itil 's a major reason for me wanting to make the trip.

I don't think I'm gonna trade off my Shattered Glass boxset but will be bringing up some of my own stuff if anyone wants to trade off any of the Descent into Evil figures, especially Chromia, Fallback and Ironhide.

You must be going to that other convention or something...

Actually i know you are kidding but I wouldn't mind meeting a couple Sibetronians in or around registration time, it makes things go much faster.

The 2 groups (both on Thursday) are green and blue. Green is 6-8 and Blue is 8-10. There is also late registration over the next few days.

I had to come Friday morning last year and it was funny because there were a bunch of confused old ladies who just stared blankly at me and the other late rgeistrants when we told them what we were there for.

Eventually they got it.

My registrations blue 8-10pm. I also will be bringing some stuff and hope to do some trading. By the way how is the trading? This is my first botcon so i'm excited and hope to get some cool stuff! My main thing is G1!

I was there last year and they mentioned something about "room-to-room trading" although if that happened I missed it. Lats year was my first con so I was feeling out a lot of stuff yet. I'll be staying at the Millenium hotel and plan on going to any group meeting that we set up via this site so I figure we can swing some deals then.

I'm actually scaling down my G1 in favor of classics and the like.

We're staying at the Hyatt and were lucky to get a room. I'm thinking of making a Seibertron shirt with my screen name on it that way it will be easier to meet people from Seibertron. I also heard about the room to room trading. I plan on bringing some G1s and newer Tfs Classics, Movie ect. Believe it or not i'm going to bring a MOC Cy-Kill Gobot! :lol:

I got it when i worked security at K-Mart a few years back hidden in the layaway dept.! It had to be there for about 20yrs.+! And the funny thing was they could'nt of course find a price on the register so they charged me the sticker price of $1.98! :lol:

I have an interesting Cy-Kill story, also. I was a little kid, it was 1986 or early 1987 and I saw that the KB store in the mall had Cy-Kill pretty cheap, this was the normal sized original version.

I bought him, opened up the package and that day part of him broke off. So my mom got me to write the company and include the receipt and low and behold, they sent me a new one, the Black version this time.

If I understand correctly the Millenium and Hyatt are pretty close, right?

I thought about doing the classes but I just don't think I'm handy enough, figured it would be better to leave room for someone who would get more out of it.

Plus, my wife is even less handy.

I'm thinking of getting Reds tickets for Thursday, actually.

I think the hotels are basically right next to each other or across the street.

Lavender! That's pretty cool to pick up on Wednesday. That's cool about the class too! Wish i could go but did'nt really fit it in with everything when we planned and made reservations. :-(

But i can't wait to get there on Thursday and pick up at 8-10p.m.!

We are just at 3 weeks out. I'm locking my rental car in this weekend. My friend flys in on the 23rd and we are making the 4hr drive up on the 24th.

Hope to find some good stuff again, this may be my last BotCon for awhile.

To be honest, it's wayyyyy too early this year. I hope that it will have warmed up by then. Really would have been happier if it was at the end of March instead. Give me more time to save up cash, finish assembling some stuff and just overall get everything in order. Now because it's so early I have to wait for the single warm day a week to work out in the garage.... On..... Stuff.

The early start was kicking me a bit too but as time rolls by I am getting where I need to be.

Way to early this year: April 24
Yet you say you'd like it to have been in March? That's even earlier, your statement makes no sense.

I agree that April is early and I to wish it were in June but your confusing me with your statement.
