At present, I'm after the last of the Autobot HM Jrs. There are a couple in ebay but the price and condition isn't that good (not to mention the custom fees being offered)

Call me weird, but one of my grail is the TF Movie '07 voyager Starscream, Toshiba HD-DVD edition. I really LOVE that mold and I love that shiny pinkish red. Plus, it's a very rare exclusive. I just don't want to pay 350$ shipped to import one from Japan.



Another Starscream I avoided at the time but regret dearly is the ORIGINAL greenish MP-03. Now, the prices are just INSANE.

This may sound lame and I don't care...

MP Soundwave, and all of the combiner teams I've wanted updates of for years now...
I can't ask for too much more past these.
Not sure what else I'll really want if/when we get Abominus, Predaking, and Piranacon.

The Vardia Starscream is a great one.
It was a limited edition promo release for the debut of a TV.
Almost grabbed one for 75, years ago; thought it would go down after a bit, been regretting it since.

Looking it up, it appears to use an SDmini card, which was never very popular (superseded very quickly by SDmicro) but a quick search on Amazon shows you can get an adapter to use micro cards in devices that were made for mini cards, and they're not expensive.

Been remembering what my holy grail was and thinking I've really had no major replacements for it.

The original G1 Megatron toy was basically my holy grail, old picture of it when I was living at my dad's here before I got my housing, made my move, and bought a lot more of Megatron. The gun mode being controversial and all made it almost out of the realm of possibilities for me for the longest time and I couldn't really ever find one complete, good joints, and all that decently priced. People were pushing it for over 200-300 or so. Then I got lucky and found one decently priced (about 100), good joints, and complete at a local vintage toy store. It just was missing stickers being applied to it, which was like an 10-12 dollar additional purchase for it with shipping. I was very happy to find it for that price as I had always wanted the original toy to come into my collection. From there it did inspire me to start collecting more and getting other ones too.

I am reluctant to make the MP-05 my "next holy grail" due to the high price and issues involved with it being a KO from sellers on eBay. Mostly that and the Quality Control on it. Though if the new MP Megatron rumors are true, that could theoretically be my next holy grail.

Except that's so incomplete it'd have to be a quarter of that price for me to care Not to mention the complete lack of Mini-cons. I'm sure my $125 offer will get rejected, but honestly, I think it's fair.

Oh my god I would kill to have Spacewarp. I hope she gets an actual full retail release toy at some point

Huh. A fair price indeed. Maybe just for the sake of rarity, I could see it going for 200, but that's top end. The damage and missing accessories really hurt it.

It's pointless to customise a standard figure to make it look like a unique and rare item. Because it would be just a run-of-the mill custom. Not the thing.

Unless, of course, you just want a representation of the character.

And she's a pretty frickin' great character.

I know nothing about Spacewarp beyond she's a female Decepticon space hauler, but that's enough for me to want one. If she did get a new toy though I'd want it to either be an original mold or retooled enough from a theoretical Armada Jetfire remake that she just looked like a chunky, cuddly fembot and not just a redeco of Jetfire with a new head. Cuddly is fine though- me likey the cuddly fembots.

In terms of holy grails, I have a few.

RID Sky-Byte (the original): Ever since I saw him on the cross-sell for my Megatron I wanted him. Mum searched high and low but never found him. Never seen RID in my life but I just love that toy design.

RID Galvatron/Devil Gigatron: My own Megatron is in absolutely shambolic state, but I love the mold so much I'd kill for a replacement. I kinda fancy the Galvatron deco because as neat as the original is, there is something pretty badass about the white, black and gold of Galvatron/Devil Gigatron. Devil Gigatron would be especially awesome as he has the updated engineering (allowing for all 10 modes) and the much cooler lance designs.

Beast Wars Rampage: This guy was AWESOME in Beast Wars and the toy looks awesome too. A pity he's so expensive complete on the aftermarket.

Cryotek: I know the mold has its flaws (I wish the dragon tail was attached properly) but come on. Big scary cyborg ice dragon.

Yeah I can maybe see that as reasonable. Quite honestly, if this were either complete with no Mini-cons, or as is with even just the partner and not the Requiem Blaster repaint, the price on it would feel right. Any other toy would be considered a junker in the state this one's in!

Beast Wars Depth Charge and Rampage. They were both great in the show and there toys aren't that bad. The gimmick on Depth Charge does bother me a lot though. They are probably some of the worst toys to buy these days. The cheaper ones are always missing parts, loose complete ones are around $50(and uncommon), and sealed versions sometimes get close to $100. I'd really love some updates.

I was looking for a G1-reissue Optimus Prime last week with little success, but my Transformers funds have been depleted for a reasonable quantity of time.

A grail is different for everyone, what matters is that its what you want most.

For a long time as a teenager my grail was BW Big Convoy but he was just so damn expensive. I didnt have much funds and the thought of paying 100$ for a toy or near that was insane. Turns out I never needed to since Korea had found a ton of him and I got him for a good price when I returned to collecting.

G1 Fort Max was also something I wanted and I finally got him. For now all I am really looking for is Battle Unicorn, Cybertron Croswise and ROTF Lockdown. I dont want to pay the e-bay prices (the shipping fees are very high to go to canada) so my search continues.

Congrats Shortround, those Predacons are the best G1 toys out there!

I played the first version to death and its become such an inside joke among me and my freinds that my best friend had Always by Erasure be the song played over their first dans at their wedding.

And yeah, Battle Unicorn is awesome and I would like to own it one day for what it sold at retail.

Just to close the loop all the way back to Transformers: Robot Unicorn Attack 2 features Stan Bush's "The Touch" as music you can have playing during the game.

There's no feeling quite like missing something that eventually became your holy grail due to you not getting back into collecting until it was no longer available. Generations Meteoplex is something that will drive me insane. I got back into collecting riiiiight after he became old enough to have a price increase online. I'll give an arm and a leg for one, and since the DNA Design Metrocannon hands are coming out soon, I've got to get one quick. HURRY!
