I don't understand. It's like you're making a sentence, but the words don't fit together in a way that makes sense. Everything after that comma just makes the whole sentence confusing.

I have read the trilogy. I had to force myself to read the first book because it jumped into too much detail at the expense of getting to the point. Really, whie I don't mind details, I think Tolkien could have worded his descriptions better to cut down on pages. Again that is my main criticism. The story really did not pick up for me until Return of the King where everything was fast-paced compared to the other two.

Personally, I loved the books from a very early age and re-read them every few years - The films were utterly perfect for a long-time fan like me. I don't know how I'd feel about them going in cold.
