Have to hand it to Bay for this one. Just noticed this.

When the Autobots confront Sector 7 for the first time and reinforcements arrive, as the 'Bots transform Jazz does a transformation very much like the G1 cartoon, whereby he jumps in the air and lands on his hands. Keep an eye out for it.

Basically, this:

DUDE I know, that was awesome. I noticed that the first time I saw it and kept re-watching it on youtube.. lol.

And when he attacks brawl, he somewhat does the transformation sequence he does in the g1 openings, (i believe he gets thrown by someone, transformers to car mode, speeds and turns around and jumps/transformers, diving at the con). Not as noticible as what you mentioned, or "nod" like, but still cool.

Yea I noticed that but I thought they were just trying to make him do some breakdancing sh*t!!

Nope it's in following with Jazz's more fashy transformaions.

Basically, this:

Don't give Bay the credit though. Give the animators at ILM the props. They're the ones with desks covered in Transformers and an understanding of the G1 lore. You can, however, credit Bay for Jon Voight's stupid slow mo getting out of the helicopter.
