dude, MAXIMAL forever. dinobot is one of the most complex transformers ever to see animation time. and Optimus Primal (season 1) is a GREAT take on the OP continuity - the best prime after G1, flawed, commanding, yet kind and with a good sense of humor.

i also have the whole season 1 on DVD.

anyways, since this is the toys forum, i also won a 10th anniversary primal + megs on eBay, can't wait to finally lay my hands on them...have to pay for it though yet. darn credit card limits. LOLz.

Maximals are indeed awesome, my friend. They are always kicking ass and taking names of all the Predacons. After seeing Code of a Hero, I love Dinobot. I also love Silverbolt...and Primal of course...and Rattrap...and Rhinox...ok so I love pretty much all the Maximals.

Season 1 Primal is the most awesome looking bot mode of all the BW TFs. I hate his transmetal mode with a passion. His original so awesome. And your right, Primal is such a great character too. You can litterally watch him evolve into a great leader throughout the seasons.

I'm going to hit up Best Buy tomorrow and get either season 1 or season 2. I'd much rather watch them on DVD than on Youtube. Do the seasons have any good extras?

Congrats on the eBay win. That 2-pack is fantastic looking, especially the black Primal. How much did that run ya?

I ordered the Takara 20th Primal last night from toywiz for $30. Should be here soon and I'm psyched.

They seriously need to bring back Beast Wars.

true dat on BW primal. he is, and the ONLY, true primal to me. i really dislike his other transmetals/BM incarnations because they seem out of context.

i won the 2-pack for $45 + $13 shipping, the kicker is, it comes with the deluxe optimus primal & megatron, complete but out of the box. seller says mint/near mint and his feedback score is good too, so i'm trusting in my purchase.

still have to pay for it though, good thing the seller has a 10-day payment plan. still anxious 'cause it's not actually my card, but my dad's, who is letting me use it for my eBay purchases provided i pay him back during my payday. don't want to ruin my feedback status hehe.

and true, man - they REALLY need to bring back Beast Wars.

Yeah you can easily tell that the transmetal and other incarnations of Primal were just made to sell toys. Shame on you Hasbro for ruining a great look to sell more toys. His transmetal form is the only one I really depise. I mean, come on, a surfboard? Was that really necessary?

$58 is not a bad price at all for those two, even out of the box. The only place I've found that two-pack in stock is at toywiz who wants $90 for me w/o shipping. I hope all goes well and keep me updated with pics.

I've warmed up to transmetal Megatron quite a bit. He's not as bad ass as season 1 Megatron, but IMO still more bad ass than TF Megatron.

i like TM meg's robot mode, though the t-rex could do better with other colors rather than bronze-metallic violet combo. sheesh...

will update you wether i get the items or not. hopefully my dad's credit card will be paid by in 2 days. time is ticking for me and i hate being left with a neutral, most especially a NEGATIVE feedback. i never got to having credit cards myself (even though i have a job already) because monthly bills are a PITA to handle. hahaha.

oh and on the primes? the only other primal i am even THINKING of liking is optimal optimus - man, he's huge. but still BW primal's top in my list.

Agreed about Megatron's colors. I don't think they could have picked a worse group of colors to go together. But alas, I still love him so.

Some, no, all of the transmetals have very strange color schemes. Did they really have to make them overly shiny? Not really a complaint so much as an inquiry.

I really hope you are able to get those 20th figs. They are very good sculpts and modes and colors of Prime and Megatron. And be glad you don't have any personal credit cards. They aren't worth it at all. Just too much trouble.

Ebay, Amazon, and BBTS have been really helpful when it comes to BW TFs. Except I've found too many that I want, lol. I'm now adding Optmius Minor to my must have list despite his ugly transmetals colors. I just love his character, especially in the Gathering. I also found a Takara Silverbolt vs. Ramage 2-pack on BBTS I might get, just for the better SB mold.

Also am watching the Agenda right now on Youtube. Does anyone know if Ravage came out in the BW line, Jap or US? His voice on the show is bad ass.

Maximal here.... even though I thought waspinator was super funny!....But I have the entire series on dvd. I don't know about the 10th ann. figs, I felt my old cheetor and new cheetor and it fewlt different, like the new one is like cheaper plastic.

Yeah, I'm glad they chose to kill off Terrosaur instead of Waspinator in the second season. Beast Wars wouldn't e BW without him. He cracks me up everytime

Hmmm...thats sucks about the plastic. That's why I'm starting off with the Takara re-issues because are they supposed to be more durable and made with better plastic. I sincerely hopes that the case. I'll judge my Primal when it comes and see whether or not I stick with the more costly Takara 20ths.

I'm afraid you'll have to get most of them hehe. Yeah the Takara reissues are the way to go I think. They're molds and sculpts are better and their look is more show accurate. Primal should be here early next week and after that I will not be able to contain my excitement about my BW collection, lol.

I think I'm going to skip Airrazor. Not a big fan of her and I haven't really seen any episodes where she actually does anything. If you are gonna be in Beast Wars and not do anything, at least be as cool as Tigatron. He gets a pass for being cool.

Silverbolt, Megatron, and Magmatron are going to be my next purchases I believe. We should go halfsies on a Takara Vs. 2-pack of Silverbolt and Rampage. That way we both get what we really want. I think it's only $40 for both.

Yeah, money is a big issue when it comes to TFs, but even more so when the line you want to collect you can only buy online. So not only do I have to shell out a lot of money for the TF and shipping, but then wait at least a week for it get here. Not fun.

So I think so far my BW team is the core characters of the BW show (its sad, but man their bad asses). With reverses being B'Boom, Optimus Minor, Depth Charge and maybe Tigatron (once again the cool factor).

I have to say that Metal Optimus is actually my favorite version of the character; it just seems the most unique. Although I do like his S1 form, his head is too much like G1 Prime(I know they didn't decide that Primal WOULDN'T actually be Prime until after the show began.), and I don't favor the "Prime Lips" at all.) His Metal form's head is distinct(and has small lips). Plus I think a flying gorilla is hilariously awesome.

Additionally, his toy is very solid and a lot of fun; easily my favorite figure from the line.

Metal Megs is pretty sweet too.

As for Maximal Deluxe figures, I think the only one I have left that I havent shown is this guy.





His alt mode makes me angry! His legs and wings are nice but the rest is kinda bad. After all these years though, I finally figured out to put his wings over the shoulders which make him look not so horrible. I don't think he's got any weapons either which I'll never lose them but on the other hand hes got nothing cool to play with.

I should go dig up those happy meal ones, the panther one was my favorite out of the group. I'd post Razorbeast/Rattrap/Armadillo(I don't know his name?) But they are all missing their weapons. For Razorbeast that means his mane and for the Armadillo its his back legs. They aren't anything to write home about either. I think.

nice prowl pix, Trelve. i was wondering if i'd get him too, but his owl mode is dreadful. ugh. and to think he was drawn nicely in The Gathering. he's got a nice head sculpt though.

i think Tripredacus Agent (recolor of TM2 cheetor) is the toyline's ravage offering. he a pretty slick repaint of TM2 cheetor to boot.

hey slumble, i'm a big fan of minor also haha. he has very kick-ass in The Gathering and was instrumental in helping depose of Magmatron. man, i gotta get all the BW monkeys: Primal, B'Boom, Minor...

though technically, Primal ISN'T a monkey, he's an ape, which completely rebuffs the whole "MUNKY NOT TRUKK" argument. LOL.

...oh, and i completely forgot to add bantor, though i'm not sure if he appeared in the comics...and he is a hybrid, a fuzor between a baboon and a tiger, so he also ISN'T technically a monkey per se.

I love 3/4 of the transmetals. Cheetor, Rattrap, Tarantulas and especially Megatron are all awesome. Blackarachnia and Primal...eh, not so much. I don't think BA really needed a transmetal change, I liked her the way she was except the originals.

Wow, who is that? Their bot mode is pretty awesome, but DAMN does that beast mode look ugly as sin. What the hell happened there? Very cool except for the lack of accesorries. And like you said - nothing to get excited over.

I think the Armadillo's name is Armor. I would like to have a Razorback cause I liked him in the Gathering. Maybe they will release one in Universe.

It seems rather difficult to find a good version of the S1 Rattrap. I like the transmetal one (he's one of TM faves) and all, but I'd still like to have the S1 version too.

lol, dude I think that whole slogan (trunk not monkey) is one of the most stupid things I've ever heard. Beast Wars IMO open and expanded the TF world and even more than just being the most successful TF cartoon, it brought a whole new generation (mine) into TFs. So all who say that need to shut it, before I give them two Primal fists to the mouth

I'll tell ya what tho, the third season gets kind of ridiculous from what I've seen. Optimal Optimus beast mode is a ship and Megatron is a Dragon? That kinda destroys the iconicness of their characters in my opinon.

I only just started watching Beast Wars after having seen Beast Machines. I used to think that robots into animals was stupid but now that I have seen the show, Im hooked.

I only own Transmetal Blackaracnia and Primal is on his way in the post to me.

If you want Beast Wars figures go to BBTS as they have a set of 8 figures in the sale for $108. I was about to order a set but they charge way too much for shipping to the UK and once you factor in customs its just not worth it. But if you are in the US or Canada you will probably get a better price.

heck yeah, that's Prowl alright, made sense to make him an owl (prowl - pr = owl, get it? LOL that was lame ). he was in the Gathering comics too. looked far better drawn than in reality heh heh. i'm digging the robot mode head though.

ravage? i think there is a version of him in Energon called Battle Ravage i think, just search for him, not BW mind you, but one of the closest we can get to the real Ravage.

as for Bantor, i was wrong...he is a baboon/lion hybrid, not tiger. check out this pic:

How is TM Blackarachnia? I haven't seem enough of her TM version through Beast Wars to form an opinion. I am however in love with her orginial version.

I have Takara re-issue Primal coming in the mail soon. I cannot wait till it gets here. It'll be like my birthday and christmas all rolled into one.

BTW, hit up Best Buy this morning and picked up Season 2 on DVD. They didn't have Season 1, but 2 will suffice for right now. I'm planning on finishing it up by the end of the week and going back to pick up Season 3. I think Beast Wars has overtaken my TF obession, lol.

haha, us BW fans need to unite and get our show back on the air! I feel a march dressed up as our BW characters is completely necessary. COMPLETELY necessary.

I believe we are just as passionate as the G1 collectors because of the fact that our lines aren't being produced anymore. Oh my god I might get shot on here for mentioning beast wars and G1 in the same sentence lol jk.
