Couple of facts for you.

A black man in the U.S. has an estimated 1 in 1,000 chance of being killed by police during his lifetime, according to a paper out today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. That’s 2.5 times the odds for a non-Hispanic white man, the authors find.

Black women are 1.4 times more likely than white women to be killed by police. Men overall are 20 times more likely than women to be killed by police, according to the paper.

Young adults are generally more likely than older people to be killed violently – something called the age-victimization curve – and that holds true when it comes to police use of deadly force. Across race and gender, very few people over age 60 are killed by police, the paper finds. The odds for everyone spike from age 20 to 35. For black people, the odds stay higher longer.

“40-year-old black men are at about the same risk as 25-year-old white men,” says Frank Edwards, an assistant professor at Rutgers University’s School of Criminal Justice and one of the paper’s authors. “So the risk for African Americans is following a really different pattern. The risk that black men and women face persist, and they’re comparable to the highest rates of risk for white people at a younger age.”

Victims were majority white (52%) but disproportionately black (32%) with a fatality rate 2.8 times higher among blacks than whites. Most victims were reported to be armed (83%); however, black victims were more likely to be unarmed (14.8%) than white (9.4%) or Hispanic (5.8%) victims.

That's why Black Lives Matter focuses on:

SYSTEMIC RACISM
MASS INCARCERATION
DEFUNDING THE POLICE

And more! It's never been about Black vs. White - that's just what your corner of the alt right internet chooses to focus on in order to discredit the movement and this moment. The only person here talking about Black vs. White is you.

The whole point is focusing on larger issues. But you have to contort yourself into pretzels to ignore that fact. The only folks trying to foment a race war are the white supremacists with whom you guzzle red pills.

It's not a race war.

It's literally stopping a few from being targeted for trouble. If those statistics didn't make it clear that we have a racism problem, one that's long standing, I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah those are some disturbing stats. It would be useful if there was a way to determine who was actually responsible for each and every one of those incidences. I'm 100% behind reforming police culture, but I have a hard time believing that every single 1 of those was the fault of the police.

As for "systemic racism," I believe it exists in the legal system and every participant is culpable of it, from the perps to the judges to the people running the prisons. It's all a big money-making scam, much like wars are for the military-industrial complex.

So I see we've come to the anti abortion part of ALM movement.

If you believe all lives matter and are anti abortion are you in favor of (a list in no particular order):

Expanding welfare? (poor people with kiddos need to be fed)

Paid maternity/paternity leave? (the first 6 months to a year are key time in a childs development)

Free Healthcare? (someone's gotta help mama pop all them babies out)

LGBTQ adoption? (Unwanted kids need love too)

Big Brother/Big Sister volunteering? (If you got time to argue on the internet, you got time to support a kid)

Sex Education in schools? (People would have less if they didn't think they came from storks and a sky god)

Free State University Education? (Those kids are going to need jobs when they get older)

Expanding current k-12 education? (Getting them kids to school and helping them be smarter than us, no matter if they're in the city or come from a 10m$ mansion)

Expanding mental health care in schools? (Moar counselors)

Better pay for teachers? (Teachers get paid less and then have to use their own money for school supplies for their classes)

Better funding for k-12 schools? (Teachers should not have to use their own money to pay for supplies for their classes)

Gun control (#1 cause of death from suicide, if you honestly cared about all lives, you would be for this)

Higher federal minimum wages? (We could help people on welfare if jobs paid better)

Capping executive pay to 25% company profits, with 65% going to workers? (Again, better pay to help take care of people and the children they're popping out)

Expanding and enhancing social programs, such as AA? (Have you dealt with kids, sometimes mamma just needs to knock back a few fifths with some zantacs, wait, that's not the point of this one... shyte... uh... Drugs are bad, m'kay, and this will help people kick habits and keep them out of prisons and keep families together)

Capping rent? (Nothing like having a pay raise, then having your rent go up and swallow that up)

I had more to add to this list, but I don't want to hit the character limit, and lets face it. You're about as likely to read (and understand) it as I am of winning a million dollars.

Oh, and for someone who's all about using the internet for knowledge, you should know defund the police doesn't mean get rid of the police. It means cutting back their funding and using it for things that will cut back on the need to have police called in the first place, like giving kids in high school more after school programs to participate in so they don't get wrapped up in gang violence.

I call those distractions from the point which is plain and simple. Black people do not deserve to be slaughtered in the streets by agents of the state. I said that BLM the movement and many of the protestors do not seem to care about black lives.
