I have heard from a friend that lives in my building and who knows that I am a big fan that the new movie was available for sale at local Chinatowns in Toronto.

This is rumour for now. I will be visiting a few on the weekend to confirm this.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Oh yeah...like most of the ones prior to a movies' release. Sure to be available on torrent sites in due course. Mixed feelings on this. I will still be going to see it at theatres irrespective.

I have no problem with bootlegs, as long as the person who buys it goes sees it on the big screen or buys the DVD.

That doesn't mean it's Transformers 2007. Sellers of bootlegs often sell older versions of films under the names and images of their updated versions, remakes, or sequels.

I wouldn't be surprised if the DVD actually contained the animated Transformers motion picture. If you get the wrong film, is someone going to complain about being ripped off with an illegal product?

Buyer beware.

True enough. That is why I will be going out to confirm this on the weekend.

They usually charge $20 for 4 movies. $5 is what? A Starbucks coffee. I won't sweat that. The quality is surprisingly good on some movies that friends of mine have shown me. I have never bought them myself since I don't really go into Chinatown for anything really.

I would like to take this time to remind everyone on Seibertron.com's policy of Piracy. (see posted Sticky for more info).

Anyone posting links or places/info on where people could purchase any illegal tappings of the film will be delt with in the appropriate fashion.

Don't look to far into this, none of ou have done anything rong (yet) but Just be careful. You're tredding a very fine line.

Thanks for the info Mod. Nothing more will come from me on this front. I would support taking the post off the forum as well.

You know, you just can't watch some movies on a cam shot, not matter how good the quality and sound might be. I love being wowed.. as i have already seen the movie (It rocks) even when it comes out on dvd it is not going to do it justice as it does on the big screen with dolby surround sound.. (the transformatio sound alone coming out of 6 to 8 speakers is enough to prove the point" I will have the screener eventualy as i usualy get those but i will have paid my part to support the movie.. and when it comes out on dvd, i will buy it. Now the couple of months inbetween when it leaves the theaters might cause me to go another direction until i get the dvd. maybe

i watched the movie in a decent theater with big screens and good sound (dolby digital ) but it was like 10 years old and it still sounded and looked amazing.

if you watch it on anythgng but the big screen first. you are cheating yourself of a great sci fi, transformers movie.

I'm with you on that. mpst of the movies I've seen this year I've seen on line before going to the theater. There's just something about the big screen that can't be beat.

Yah, 10 bucks and that humiliating feeling like you're a commercial-watching tool who just got burned.

I dunno... sometimes REALLY phenomenal copies pop up LONG before a movie hits... and in alot of cases, they're not cam shots but high-quality, full stereo rips of the upcoming data for DVD pressing.

Awfully inferior "cam shots" are not always the first thing to hit torrent sites, suprisingly.
That's just misinformation the MPAA likes people to believe.

Well, I don't think it's going to make a huge difference if this movie gets bootleged, in fact If I run across one, I will get it and I will also see it in the movie theater. Nothing beats surround sound.

The transformation sound and hearing prime speak really can't be done justice on a tv or home entertainment center.

ohh and i know about the screeners and such. "alot of movies end up online before they hit theater in excellent quality.) i have lets say "come across a good bit" but even with a pretty awesome sound system.. some are cams, some are really good..what you get to here in a movie theater can't be beat.. unless u got a good bit of money. I actualy rip most of my dvd's i own to my pc cause i hook it to my tv and love not having to put dvd's in and out, dlip through those stupid menus and such.. it is also easier to click on a file...

it depends also on how much you want to see the movie.. movies that have had good reviews have sucked hard.

i won't pass up a copy if i come by one even if i got it before the movie hit theaters and i hadn't seen it..already seeing what you are going to a theater for works i guess.. but even my lord of the rings screeners i had and 300 screener just didn't look or sound as good as watching 35 mm film or digital for that matter. the surround sound alone.. now there are certain movies that suck ass that sound really dosen't matter.

I might be out 8.50 (yes movies are pretty cheap in the carolinas,) but to support the movie and see it in the theater with a bunch of fans is just worth it..

the ads at the beginning suck but as i have learned working at movie theaters most of my life as i manage one now, i just get there when the previews hit... usualy though i have screened them a few days to a month before they come out so i don't get bothered with the ads much :)

oh welll.. point well taken :)

Big event films should be experienced on the biggest screen you can find and in the highest definition you can find and the best sound.

What's 8 bucks when most of us have invested probably months or years in following this thing.

EXACTLY. What were you going to do with that eight bucks anyway? Buy another scout class? If people want to call people consumer whores for watching this movie, they ought to get out of the hobby first.

If I saw the bootleg, I'd buy it.

Then destroy it and sue the man that sold it to me and claim that he said it was licensed.:BOT:

Personally, for me anyway, the theater experience is annoying, not even in regards to the price.
I guess if one likes sitting around loud little kids running around crying and unsupervised, howling geeks wearing autobot shirts (size XXXL) whose iron-ons are cracked, and the myriad of other creatures with cell phones, misplaced laughing, talking and within-earshot questions about what's going on... ...theater... away...?

Yeah but certain films are just big screen films and have to be experienced in their full glory. With comedies and alike it's not so much an issue, but epic films deserve epic treatment.

A small screen, no matter if it's a telesync, or DVD or watching it on a plane is just not the same thing.

I want Optimus to be looming over me, not me looming over some youtube quality image trying to make out what is what.
