Even when growing up one of my friends got the bulk of his games and systems from placing in those (local likely) SF tourney's and I never beat him. Ever. He did say I was pretty good, but he was probably holding back too. I looked pro in the local arcades during the vs series early days.

I hope Sagat is in there. He's technically not much older than Ryu. I'll have to break out the SFA series disk to warm up.

There are actually 5, count em, 5 Goukens in those pictures.

Battle Cry (screaming) Gouken
Shin Gouken
Spirit Gouken
Defeated Gouken (He actually has bruises, blood, and dirt on him, yes, he's the floored one.)



Only like 2 or 3 hundred of the Spirit and Shin Gouken exist.

I've not nearly ever produced figure thus far. Some minor exceptions aren't there either because I didn't like them, they were too close to another color swap, or they are too hard to find (black Ibuki).

Too little too late, should have came out 10 years ago when it mattered.

I saw this on another site and came here right away to alert Counterpunch...but it was already posted. I think this might be one of the most anticipated games of all time, SF2 was a legend that revolutionized gaming, and even though IMO SF3 wasn't really a major step forward, it looks like SF4 will be. I can't wait for it so I can play it every day and have a rematch with CP!

When DOESN'T it matter? Street Fighter is one of those games that never really got stale, no matter how many times they updated it. It's just one of those games where you can pick it up and play, no matter how old it may be, because it's frikken Street Fighter! It's the game that made fighting games cool!

Woo hoo! New SF. Twas playing 3 in the local arcade (which doesn't get many new games) the other day and was wondering if they ever make SF4. Looking forward to this one.

That's very true. After reading this thread I went back and played SF2 on the SNES. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though I confess I don't remember it being as slow as it was.

After playing modern beat em ups for so long I find it hard to believe I used to struggle against Vega, Sagat, and Bison when they moved so slowly.

I will very much look forward to the latest incarnation of the series. It will be a blast to say the least.

SFII is very slow lol. And completely boring when put up against SFIII and any of the later incarnations, from Alpha forward. No quick recovers? No rolls, dashes, etc? Blah. And you could win the round with a couple of well-placed Hadokens and a throw. Ahhh, the days of the 60% damage Spinning Piledriver.

I just hope that they build on what made SF so damned addictive in the first place, technique!

So long as it's not live action... While i think the art style for the vid adds to the feeling of the fight, it might not work so well in a full on movie format.
