transformers classics 2.0 (transformers universe) thats great news!


i don't know why they would discontinue the alt's.. that sucks!
theres defiantly a market for them... what with the release of them knockoff roadbots

You are probably right there. I doubt there would be much interest in a transforming Kia but Ford has a huge range of cars/vans/trucks to pick from. With the movie and all I reckon there would be a few more car manufacturers willing to sign up. Such a shame though, maybe they will start again in a few years.

As one of the many resident Alt. completists, I'm a little sad that Alts. are leaving.....but two things make me feel better about that:

1. Classics is back!

2. My wallet and I can begin the healing process after purchasing 26 Alternators! Oh, well, after I get my hands on SDCC Alt. Hot Rod, that is.

The Alternators are cancelled? Does that mean that the Binaltech line are also cancelled?

As far as Alternators, meh, could care less they killed it. The line's been pretty much dead for a year anyway. The last alt. I saw was Prowl. Never found/got Camshaft, Rumble, and Ravage anyway. So for me, it's no big deal.

The other alt I can think of that no one would really buy is dodge neon. Plus the other reason alts got cancelled is because of the cost of licencing the cars. Although with the whole movie thing continueing maybe that will become the alt line for the future.

Good question-i reckon the offical answer is no, but it will be way to expensive for takara to go it allone with the alt line

Takara may or may not continue their freaky-deaky KISS line etc, but for Hasbro I think the alts are done for good. Doesn't bother me really. They've pretty much done all of the Autobot cars, and once they're done, what's left for a liscenced car line?

Now I just need to track down the remaining Alts and Tits I'm missing, and then it's back into saving for Classics 2.0 for me!

Yeah the dinobots will be part of the new animated series but other than that I don't know.

They said they had no plans for releasing the rest of the dinobots in the Classics 2.0 line, and there's been no word whether they plan to release some in Animated.

I think the Dinobots went the same way as a certain gestalt team I seem to be thinking alot about of late...

They said the animated will have 3 dinobots including Grimlock and two undisclosed. From the Sunday panel:

Grimlock is a T-REX!!! HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE!!!
THERE WILL BE TWO OTHER DINOBOTS IN THE SHOW.
They are 3 crazy dude.

Great news to hear that the Classics are sticking around.

Although, seeing as how they will be doing Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, i am a little concerned that they will end up as the same mold just coloured differently like BB and Cliffjumper were.

The one thing i loved about the G1 versions was that they had very different robot modes.

Ah well, fingers crossed that Hasbro surprise me.

Cool! I missed that while I was gleaning the info earlier. That's good to know. We get a new Grimlock, and the entire Dinobot team too!

I am rather pleased now. Not only do I get my fave bot bros, but we get the wicked Dinobots.

And yes, Hasbro promised Ryan that they have designed Sideswipe and Sunstreaker to have different heads, chests etc. I assume they still have the same veichle mode more or less, but that's a minor detail really.

See, I---amongst so many others who kept the faith and hope alive---told you so. Too many fans loved Classics too much. Calling them "Universe" is just a nod to all of us who DIDN'T bitch about the original Universe line being repiants. Word up Seibertronians, see what happens when you don't piss and bitch about repaints and every single thing Hasbro does? You get something you want. Universe, eh? Here come more Classics and potentially the Seacons again.
