I must admit, I've never been a fan of that headsculpt. It's okay, but I don't like the way the 'helmet' encloses so much of the face, and also that it's got as smooth a surface as it has - it's lacking in detailing, for my tastes. it reminds me a lot of the Juggernaut, if I'm honest.

I did a pretty basic sculpt off the original head, just adding a little to the sides, and scoring a couple of vent lines in each side - I think it's far more effective myself.

Well, to each his own I say. While Valkfans CJ head might "encloses so much of the face", yours still has the goofy Bumblebee smile which is one of the things I hated the most about the original head. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing or anything its just my opinion. You'd have to make a new sculpt to fix that problem anyway.

Fair play. Personally, I like the little smirk. On Cliffjumper it's got an almost sinister air, I think, and gives a hint of how much he enjoys his job; i.e. busting heads.

This is the best CJ head sculpt i've seen. What did you use?

Looks like he just trimed the horns and then cut the sides a little for detail and cleared some area near the jowl/chin area.

But the red hair-do is definitely an add-on. Where did you get that?

"Hair-do"... nice. Glad you like it. :D

You're partially right, TG. I filed down the horns a bit, and the sides were built up with a small amount of Green Stuff putty. The Bumblebee jowls don't extend forward like that, as Auto Bot noted.

I did actually take it a bit further by adding light piping (trimmed out a square from the back of the head, filled with hot glue, trimmed and filed to fit and painted with clear blue paint), but that was nothing to do with making him more Cliffjumpery. I just love light piping.

Whoa! I like light-pipings too!

Can you post a pic featuring the light piping?

Something like my avatar. Light from the rear, to make the eyes glow. Then shoot away!

I can, although that was trickier than I'd hoped. I haven't got a working lamp at the mo, so I had to use my phone's flash as a light source. It's hard to hold a phone and fig together in one hand while trying to take a picture in focus with the other.

Anyway, I did it.

Here's a quick shot from behind to show how the translucent section looks.

...and here's your glowy pic...

One of what? :?

The light piping's a pretty simple mod, actually. All you need is a sharp knife (I use a scalpel), a selection of files (something coarse for rasping off lots of material, and some needle files for fine work like shaping the translucent part), and a hot glue gun for dispensing the glue (and they're pretty cheap). The only other thing you might need is a small drill. If you're modding a fig that doesn't already have the hollwed eyes, you'll need to do that yourself, and it's a lot easier to drill out most of the material than to try and gouge it out with a knife.

What do you mean one of? He's the only one I've got!

If you've got the fig and you're worried about messing the job up yourself, I'm sure I could help you out for a small surcharge... ;)

Tell you what, drop me a PM if you're interested and we'll see what we can work out. :D

I will gladly take that offer if we happen to reside in the same island!

Although, a part of me still cringe at the thought of actually scratching one of my TF toys! (Filing? *shudders* Brrr..)
