Classics wish list:

Deluxe Class:
Cyclonus - He is insanly overdue for a purple spacejet redo, and his G1 toy was the suck.
Blitzwing - One of my all time fave characters, he should be a Sukoi 27 flanker jet and a modern tank... a russian Black Eagle maybe?
Swindle - A yellow & prple jeep and a black recoiless rifle as an arm cannon and I'll be able to die happy.
Insecticons - All three sold together in one pack, yes please.

Slag - My fav Dinobot, he'd just rock.
Ironhide / Ratchet - Their G1 selves deserve a remake so bad.
Springer - For a character that featured heavily in the movie and third season Springer is all but forgotten, I always thought he was cool.
Wheeljack - Another G1 cartoon mainstay forgotten and deserving a modern remake.

Voyager class:
Galvatron - Big, purple, poseable and with a space cannon alt mode, yup do want.
Inferno/Grapple - after the success of the Prime/Magnus mold I think this could be great.

I'm dreaming I know, the Classic line is most likely dead but still, it and the G1 reissue lines are the only TF toys that tickle my fancy.

You and me both man.

Cyclonus needs more love.

And a huge-@$$ Galvatron, in Decepticon purple, would be sweetness.

But especially Ratchet & Ironhide. Most people agree their G1 toys sucked bad, and their forms need to be done real toy justice.

Well Shockwave got the Alternator Treatment and turned out fantastic so I don't see a real need for a Classics version.
Ratchet is getting a G1 repaint of his movie version and I suspect Ironhide might get one too.

I'd definitely be interested in a new version of Predaking, Blaster and the rest of the Dinobots.

Don't get me wrong, Alternator Shockwave was awesome (loved the license plate), as is the whole line. But I have this thing about the old guys straying too far from the mold.

When I say mold, I mean the original type of altmode they had. I feel Shockwave should be anything but a vehicle as there are plenty of other characters who do that and really deserve the Alternator treatment (the aforementioned Brawn, for instance, or Huffer - when was the last time either of those two got toys in any form whatsoever?). Energon Shockblast, I felt, was a really good example of what a new version of Shockwave should be like - he still transformed into something unorthodox.

However, with a Titanium Shockwave allegedly in development, I'm kind of inclined to agree that maybe Shockers could be left out just this once...

As for Ironhide and Ratchet, I'll come right out and say it: As much as I've come to like the movie versions, those two just aren't gonna cut it for my R & I needs. A repainted color scheme alone isn't enough to make me look at a toy and think "Yep, that's Ironhide." R & I have been two of my faves ever since I was a kid, and I love them not only for what they look like, but for their iconic G1 characterization, ther personalities.

I can't look at movie Ironhide and think "This is the ornery-yet-friendly veteran with that recognizable drawl who contains within his arms every liquid known to the galaxy, and even half-dead tried to stop Megatron before he got to Autobot City".

And that especially goes for Ratchet. Reason? Marvel comics US depiction. I look at his movie incarnation and I can't think, "This is the party-crazy medic who tried to cook hotdogs with a laser scalpel. This is the guy who was willing to sacrifice his life on multiple occasions to stop Megatron."

"This is the guy who, fresh out of a resuscitation chamber, and with Megatron's mind melded with his own, proceeded to *****-slap Starscream around, dress him down like the cowardly punk he is (sorry, SS fans, I love him too :D) and send the Ark crashing into the earth again, killing himself and stopping Megatron and Galvatron from teaming up to cause havoc."

"This is the guy who, in the Marvel comic, arguably more than Optimus Prime himself, embodied everything the Autobots stand for."

And as much as I feel more of the lesser-explored characters like Brawl, Huffer and especially Blaster deserve new takes on their old-school looks-

If Ratchet is not good enough for a Classics - hell, even a Masterpiece incarnation - no one bloody well is.

I do realize that probably came off as a raging fanboy rant of some sort, and perhaps a diatribe on the characterizations within comics has little place in the Toys forum. And of course it's up to the companies and not us to decide who gets in and who doesn't. But the G1 characters, be it their comic, toy, or TV incarnation are inseparable in my mind. Ratchet deserves this.

Ok, rant over. :)

As an aside, I think that Cyclonus too should be given a Classics incarnation, which would incorporate elements from both Bombshell and Skywarp (even though I know he's been done already) just to mess with the fans. :P

Just a thought, if they did do Swindle they could easily reuse the mold for Hound - just replace the recoiless rifle with a machine gun.

It'd need a head retool though... *looking at you red Bumblebee, I mean Cliffjumper*

Word to that!
That old Marvel story-arc of Ratchet's genesis from sole surviving doctor to cunning hero and saviour to his brethen is still one of the best TF stories ever told bar none.

g1 headmaster Scorponok done to the size of fortress maximus so they look like they could battle because in the cartoon they were the same size.

I was thinking this too. We've got boat loads of Ultra Magnus re-molds. How about one that combines w/ his own trailer, and only his own trailer?

I think Ratchet and Ironhide HAVE to top this list.

Springer is a character that jumps to mind. Voyager to be on the safe side. I'm willing to bet there could be an amazing job done with him.

Sixshot, though it might well drive the poor designers nuts trying to match up his articulation and multiple modes. It would probably have to be a Leader class to make everything work right. But man, it would be awesome.

Bludgeon. Screw the Pretender shell, just make the "skull samurai" his regular 'bot mode, and go from there.

Skylynx and Omega Supreme are two figures that could probably be done wonders with, given how much better the sculpt work is today.

It would be interesting to see what Headmasters might look like in a modern day line.

And now, two oddball choices...

Human figures. Yeah, I know, most everyone doesn't care for the humans, but it would be cool to see a figures line. Might even be cool to do larger scale TFs that the humans can fit into, that you'd assemble old-school G.I. Joe style.

And second... new characters. One of the great things about G1 was that it really had such a great, diverse cast of characters and, if fan creations are any indication, there's room to add more. This is probably influenced by a 3D clip I saw a few days ago that had two new G1 style Dinobots in it. I think that could be a lot of fun to play with, to add characters into the existing universe and purposely take the G1 design aesthetic with them.

Seconded.

All the Pretender Inner Robots. Skullgrin, Landmine and Cloudburst in particular as I enjoyed their characterisations in the Marvel comics.

Doubledealer and Quickswitch

Hot Rod as a Basic so he'll fit in with G1 Prowl and Hound like in the G2 comics.

Blurr!!!!! Preferably Basic

Basically (pardon the pun) all cars that have been made larger than G1 Prowl be remade as Basics. I'll even accept a repainted Clocker as Hot Rod. The head reminds me of G2 comic Hot Rod and he's got the exhausts on the arms and a similar car mode.

All the Actionmasters!! Especially Kick-off and Axer.

Repaint Energon Divebomb as Banzai-tron and Road Rocker as Rad and I'll be happy.

Has anybody said Kup yet? Or Trailbreaker?

Or Hubcap??? C'mon, he's just a yellow Cliffjumper! (yes, I know that'd still be Bumblebee :P )

Ah, you brought back memories of my childhood.
Springer with his neat color scheme... I was so disappointed when I actually opened him up and played with him, despite the neat head sculpt and sexy car mode.

Speaking of sexy, it'd be nice seeing some Action Master-only guys done right.

Banzaitron (cool bot, never thought about what he might've transformed into) and Treadshot (then again, he was clearly a classic revolver, so he's out).

Blot of the terrorcons could be neat at a larger scale.
