I actually really wish we'd get a decent BM Cheetor toy, preferably with a Night Slash redeco, just because it's actually a cool design- gives me Xenomorph vibes, which is always cool.

I really love the Universe version of the Night Slash mold. Obviously not show accurate, but the colors are pretty cool and the robot mode is very unique in its sleekness and height. It has an impressive presence to it. Quite honestly, that's probably the best we'll get because it seems that aside from repainting the Air Attack Primal mold here and there, there is utterly no interest in making new versions of anything from BM and given how mixed the reaction to that show and its designs is among the fanbase, it makes sense.

Sorry, I didn't clarify. I felt the same for many of the [good] Vehicon designs. ;) Tankor always looked like the most generic, 50's Sci-Fi robot design in the entire show. Good designs would be like these:

I know the Club doesn't necessarily count, but they did plan reinterpretations of the 3 main Vehicon Generals Tankor, Thrust and Jetstorm:

Image

Tankor uses TR Hardhead
Thrust uses CW Groove
Jetstorm uses T30 Starscream

The Diagnostic Drone got in too as a redeco of TR Crashbash's vehicle.

I still think a lot of the Vehicon toys look pretty good even today. Not exactly accurate but as crowd fillers/cannon fodder for, say, a Siege centered collection I think they work quite nicely. I still want Mega class Tankor.

I'd love just more vehicon drone designs.

One impulse buy upon finding such an old figure somehow still up for sale on an online store later, I find myself with the need to explain why I've got such a tiny (well, not by modern toy standards I suppose) Unicron:

Image
"An embryo of a reborn dark God, this Avatar of Unicron is the byproduct of hubris and obsession. What was once the Decepticon Shokaract has been consumed and reformatted by Angolmois into a mishmash of his original form and that of the power which consumed him. His sanity, identity, color scheme and now face gone, he has been physically and mentally transformed into a living effigy of the Chaos Bringer."

Nice! I had a similar headcanon after acquiring mine, but figured it was originally Bludgeon instead. The tank-ish details and skeleton face go a long way, I suppose.

I consider TF:Prime Rumble to be Frenzy. Because he's blue.

It's not like he was even in the show, so it doesn't really contradict anything but the packaging.

Krok's Titan Master Gatorface, supposedly Gatoraider, being humanoid instead of an crocodile/alligator has always bugged me. Even though I don't have him (passed on him when he was at Ross :BANG_HEAD: ) I had a piece of headcanon that involved... well, the identities of the two components switched around. That Krok was reduced to a Headmaster like so many in the Legends Manga, and Gatoraider being converted into a transtector.

That's an interesting headcanon an also offers an explanation for Krok being freed from his Action Master body

Fair enough ;) The obviousness is why I went that way, and mine came missing the grey blade pieces.

I was going to make a Nominus Prime out of him, but after picking up Nitro Zeus I found he worked amazingly with TR Thunderwing. Until the inevitable Commander Class update comes out, I'm using him/them as a revived Thunderwing, living as just a head until Shockwave came along and patched together the "Zeus" body. In true comic book villain fashion, Thunderwing acts like Shockwave's dumb muscle - pretending to be mentally crippled by the matrix connection keeping him alive - before inevitably turning the Zeus body and its excessive number of guns on its creator. Works in aspects of his G1 Matrix-seeker and IDW raging brute personas. Also justifies the patchwork, bayformer look in my chug-centric collection and scales nicely with my Shockwave. Even better, justifies TR Thunderwing's hoony expression by having him pretend to be an oaf.

My personal take on Cybertron Unicron is that the mold actually represents Unicron's avatars/antibodies (or one variant thereof). A bit like in Prime, Unicron's Transformer=scaled "avatars" all look like him to some degree.

Another idea I had for if I got Nitro Zeus (which I probably won't now as I have SS Thundercracker) is that he's a reverse Headmaster/"Bodymaster". So his head is basically a disposable sensor cluster that he can swap at will, also incidentally allowing him to survive decapitation. In addition, if a Headmaster attempts to commandeer his body, they're in for a shock; he still has full control over it and in addition can "hack" the Headmaster and read their mind.

Since Red Wing has no backstory, I made one up for him. In my headcanon, he’s the former Air Commander who left the :CON: s to become a bounty hunter (though he prefers the term “freelance peacekeeping agent.” More professional sounding, yes?). Since a lot of the :CON: s are still mad at him for leaving, they don’t use his services much, so he mostly works for the :BOT: s.

Another one that I have is for Cogman. I see him as the Titan Master companion of the Knights of Cybertron and their ship (who is actually the ancient Titan Tenemos). After the Knights retreated beneath the sea, Cogman stayed behind to guard their secret.

Pretty sure I posted a big rant about channeling primes here a while back. On that note, I spat out something in my custom thread about new takes on Thunderclash and Star Saber, which could apply to any past or future toys of them. Plus my Star Saber was an unaltered Crosscut for a year, so it counts.
Latebrus-K wrote:Headcanon wise, I've re-imagined a more conflicted version of the character, similar to a young King Arthur. Here, he is a channeler/avatar of Prima. Unlike some others, he was chosen by the Prime to have this power for his sheer moral purity. He struggled with this honor, initially wanting to be rid of it since Prima's energy gives him immense strength to do right, but at a cost. Thunderclash must fight the Prime's influence on his personality: a burning hatred of evil. He refuses to embrace it as part of himself, unlike Star Saber who is more at peace with it. While Star Saber sublimates it into his violent fighting style, Thunderclash finds himself stopping mid-battle to get it under control.

It is removable - and that's a great idea! I'll adapt it to my chug collection - after a brief stint with Spinister, I'm partnering Lionizer with PotP Kaon and Dazzlestrike with RotF Lockdown

I just dug some of my BW-mold Dinobots from storage: BM T-Wrecks, Universe Dinobot Striker (no GPS to worry about), Universe Dinobot Triceradon (white paint discolored sadly as on Striker) and Telemocha Archadis. The last one is where a repurpose is done, based on this:

Put short, he's my BM Airraptor. I always preferred Archadis' deco, so it works out :-D

btw Did you know it is believed that the Archaeopteryx was actually iridescent black?
