If I was into profit I would of sold them already. My joy is collecting them. This my way of enjoying TF's. If I choose not to open any then that's my choice. Like I said I do have a few that's open and play with but that's all. And If I had more room to display all of them with my other collection then I would. TF's are not the only thing I collect. I have a large Zoid collection and a larger Gundam collection, so space is a factor also.

Oh man, I really can't believe what I'm reading!!! I've been into collecting a few things and have always have kept them MISB!! I'm 33 freakin years old therefore I do not plan on hitting the carpet to set up some transformer bases against my brother. When I got into this I had a choice to make...have one of each and get more or have less and buy two (one misb one open). I chose to get one and have more variety. Yes, I plan on selling someday but not until I'm an old ass man.

I've been on this forum now for 3 weeks and have been so impressed until now with everyones open attitudes. I've even stuck my neck out a few times and no one has shot me down. With that said, of course I will not let a few a-holes ruin things but give the kid a break for crying out loud.

It's his money
they are his toys

Man, he takes a risk putting this collection out there and some of you have the nerve to cut him down??

blkbitcloud1 keep on doin your own thing, your collection is sweet!! I personally like toys in shiny sealed packages!!! Easier to store too!

Hey softimus_prime I sure wish I could have afforded to buy doubles but unfortunately I can't.

Just a question...why do some concern themselves so much with what others do with their collections?

Why pass judgement? You don't see me judging others as to why they opened theirs.

I personally get a thrill seeing them crispy, brand new. It's just my thing.

The other guy actually accused blkbitcloud1 of being a scalper!!! Woah that really crosses the line. MISB collector somehow equals scalper?

Anyway, take care all

well im not really against misb collectors i honestly dont i mean my concern is if they are going to open like atleast a single one buy a copy not the whole bunch them because in blkclouds situation, he started collecting toys in misb so that means he might keep them that way or since it's a tradition, if you started collecting toys which you have opened it's hard to break that tradition and im not saying im right it's only an opinion and we are all collectors and we are here because of one interest, collecting and i also respect everybody's comments and not trying to argue ofcourse just a suggetion or comment or better yet opinion but never a demand to others... :D :) :P ;;) and about the scalper thing... that's all...

Whats a scalper?

Anyway just to answer your question it is called "difference of opinion", and some of us do not enjoy seeing these beauties locked up and basically un-appriciated by being kept in their boxes for the sole reason of hoping to sell them at a later date for a profit.

Collecting is meant to be for fun and enjoyment, and some of us dont understand how anyone can enjoy these toys sealed in their prisons like this.

But I said "If" I were to sell them...not saying that im selling them. And this is my way of fun and enjoyment. The thrill of the hunt and the prize after the hunt. I love my transformers and have no reason to sell them. Like I said before, if I had the room to display them all I would. But I do collect other things beside TF.

Oh yeah, blkbitcloud1 I got the cardboard TF movie thing from Sam's club when I got my movie 3-pack. I just thought, what the heck? All they are going to do is trash em right? I have also been asking managers for empty softimus prime boxes....for personal storage purposes of my own. Have two now. It's a really nice, red, two storage, angled box. You've see'em. Great for the little Trans-fers.

You know, these comments about MISB collectors really piss me off.

This guy shares his collection with the community (thank you by the way, I love looking at other's collections) and it amazes me that people will criticize him about how he collects. So what if he doesn't want to open them? He's 43, not 8.

What is the difference in one that doesn't open the toy and puts it on a shelf, versus one that opens the toy, transforms it once, and puts on a shelf? The fact that one is opened and touched once. That's it. Neither gets "played" with.

I have a **** ton of transformers, half MISB, half opened. Regardless, I have not "played" with one since I was 10. That is how I choose to collect. That is how he chooses to collect. It affects you in no way whatsoever. His money, his collection, his enjoyment. Not yours, or your call to make about how he collects.

To the scalper comment - get real man. That comment would be justified if he was showing off pics of his 15 MISB '08 Bumblebees. Some of his toys are from lines that are 10+ years old. He collects. A scalper is one who buys all of the "hot" toys currently on the shelf and turns right around to sell them at a marked up price to ripe one off and make money.

If he should ever decide to sell his collection, that is again his choice, and he is justified in getting fair market value for his older collection. Plus, that also helps the new collectors that want a mint figure that is no longer in production. I don't hear any complaining when that happens.

Point being, is that we all collect (read collect) this wonderful line for our own enjoyment. Some do it different than others. Unless you are personally buying this **** for him, you really don't have the right to tell him how to collect, or what is the right way to collect.

Let's all enjoy our collections, and each others.

Thank you sir for the kind words. I throught the people here would be happy about seeing one collection. I will still collect no matter what people say. That's just the way I am. My passion is for the toys and not what others think. If I keep them in package or not. Yes, I do have a few out of package and those are the one's that I like the most, so yea I played(at one time and transform them) with them and put back them back. But im still a collector of TRANSFORMERS!!

Don't get me wrong, I personally don't care what others do with their stuff. I just said i don't understand it.

And as I have said many times before if you are doing it as an investment then on that I will have to not only disagree but call you a fool. Toys are not an investment and by no means gareenteed to go up in value in any significant way. They aren't an investment. In fact toys are just about the absolute worst thing you could pick to invest your money in. If you're looking for an investment buy realestate, stocks or open a savings account. The return on your money will be far greater than some mass produced hunk of plastic boxed or otherwise. And before you try to show me numbers to the contrary I can show you plenty of things people thought would be worth a mint (IE: Beanie Babies) that were little more than a fad.

Having said all that how much for the BW Rampage? Been jonesing for one of those for a while.

for me if I really like a figure alot I will buy two one that I can open and I keep mib. Good example of this is classics bubblebee I have two of him so when I sell it will be the mid figure and I will always have opened ones to hand down to my kids or niece and nephews.
