Apples and oranges, stickers vs. paint. Plus, painting in the 80's was practically non-existent to begin with

Now if you took something from RiD and later, when they did have the technology for that, it would be a different story. Being able to and being willing to are two different subjects.

My pet peeves on paint aps is when the rear red lights on the cars are not painted.

Also, DOTM delux Sideswipe... such a waste.

Though a little tricky to apply, Reprolabels set does wonders for his alt mode. Just sold mine, but he looked so good with that set on, I displayed him as a car (I usually don't).

You can always go the Tomy route. Though 90% of the time they get it right but on the EZ/Legends Jazz/Meister, the domestic version actually HAD a painted visor unlike the Tomy version.

And he lacked the windshield apps compared to the EZ/Legends Prowl........go figure (even Prowl had paint apps on his forearms while Jazz had none on his shoulders.

Agreed, that and the rims too. All those cars and trucks with solid black rims

. It's also annoying as hell (to me at least) when they mold in faux parts, like wheels and stuff to replicate their bot modes on the shows but then don't frickin' paint them. I mean really, what the f**k?! Why even bother if you're not going to paint the damn things? Just leave em' out if that's what you're going to do.

My peeve is with unpainted faces which was a big thing with G1 toys. I love the G1 seeker Mold but I wish they'd painted the faces of the reissues. It worked wonders on the world's smallest and reissues like Swerve and Wheelie.

But it's cool that the G1 toon nodded to that with Starscream.

The Ultra Magnus I had when I was a kid was some variant that lacked paint on UM's face and on the inner Prime. UM's face was just blue and OP was all white. Weighed pretty heavily on my 8 year old brain.

Yeah, it's kinda weird when a windshield is the same color as the rest of the car. Being a Geewunner, another thing I miss is decals. it was part of the ritual of getting a new transformer when I was a kid. What ever happened to that?

Damn, they really took a lot of fun out of it when they quit packing decals with the transformers. :-(

I loved putting the stickers on as well. I'd play with it until the novelty wore off and then apply the stickers and the figure would come to life all over again. The down side: they get tatty and wear out. Over all I don't miss them.
