ok guys... I dont think I can say "oooh Yeah Awsome episode" this time, regardless of bringing the Dinobots back or not, even though yeah it great to see them. But Im failing to see what this Episode has to do with the story. What the hell? What happened at the end of last week when Lugnut and Blitzwing almost found Megatron; And Starscream showed up and had a proposition for Lugnut and Blitzwing. AND ........What? Why do they have to jump around in Story lines. I dont understand what method of logic of Storytelling they are trying to give. Just stick to one storyline and continue each week with it. I feel like you have watch every other week just to watch one storyline. It makes no sense. There are lots of lollygagging scenes in episodes like this like when Fanzone cant get his Subboat to work or he gets stuck in Quicksand. I mean C'MON can we get to the Big Picture already! Megatron Lugnut, Blitzwing, Starscream; That was a whole chunk of something about to happen. Are the writers that uncreative that they dont have much Juciy storylines to give so they have to spread it out.Im not saying that this was a Bad Episode or that I didnt like it by any means, but I just wish thay would get on with it. Quit Stalling with episodes that kinda have to do with story but really could do without. Were well into the series now theres no need to leave hanging anymore.YOu Guys, I still cant believe that Megatron is still just a Head! ITS been like 3 MONTHS! And then let me Guess, When the episode finally comes when Megs finally gets a body then the following week the episode will be the Autobots having to fight MuffinMan or Some ro some rediculous thing and Megs continues the following week after. 8-|
AND one last thing....IS There not gonna be Sludge or Snarl? There are 5 Dinobots not 3 !

I actually see why they had this episode. Last time we saw the Dinobots they were kind of the bad guys that the autobots felt bad for. There needed to be an episode where the Autobots sort of befriended the Dinobots, and I think this episode kind of touched that (although I think they are more neutral at this point than friends. I also think that the Dinobots needed to be shown this way because based on the last few episodes, the Decepticons all together would have destroyed the Autobots. Now with the Dinobots warming up to the Autobots it could be a more even fight.

So cliffhangers don't work well for you do they? Dangling plot points? I hazard to guess you are not a fan or 'Heroes', 'Lost' or other similar shows. The way they make these are very similar to that. There is no real pattern.

I guess the question to ask is does there always need to be a pattern? Must the follow up always come next episode?

I hate to do it, but I will...G1 was rarely a juicy episode every time, and there were many that did not make sense in the whole grand scheme of things. I see that as "That's cartoons for ya'".

I am sure the story will return to Starscream, as it did to Megatron, but they wanted to tell the Dinobots' story again, and it did not involve those folks yet.

Truly, one must believe that if you had a juicy episode every week, you might say, "Aaahhh my head hurts, this has been way too serious, and I need a little something to break up the monotony of this."

Or the show might last 5 episodes, and we would not be introduced to most of the 'on the perimeter' bots that we have. It would be like the movie, 5 and 5 and not a lot of character building.

I do agree though, it was not the greatest, but it was good. :)

No I enjoy Cliffhangers, just not 2-3 month long ones. And I never said anything about G1 so IDK what your claiming against me, But yeah G1 had some unimportant Episodes. And yeah Ive caught Lost and Heroes every now and then, I dont follow it though. But this is not Lost or Heroes, this is Transformers, a Cartoon for Children. Can children today follow this kind of Storytelling? I dont know maybe they can , I guess Im not a Kid in todays world.

I remember the writers as well as the producers saying this is what would be happing with this show there would be an overall story arc for each season. But they would have one shot episode through out that season giving them the chance to introduce new character for use in upcoming shows and seasons. They seem to be sticking to that idea. So be patient as for as megatron returning it scheduled to be a two part episode followed by introduction of the Cybertron Elite Guard if they jump right into season two.

I'm not claiming anything against you, I am just saying that this seems to be the way of cartoons and TV shows. Not every episode is a juicy classic. Some are filler, one shots, but Shortround brought up a nice point...it introduces them for later use.

I do like that they have human villains that are legitimate threats to cybertronians.

Bulkhead performed better this episode that his typical only there o charge in and get schooled self. Plus Dinobots with flaming weapons . This wasn't the best episode, but it was still good. None of the episodes thus far have been out and out bad.

Highlight of this episode was Captain Fanzone. If I had to pick a favourite from the eyesore that is Animated it'd be him.

Once again Optimus Prime proves himself to be a complete and utter moron. Hello Einstein! Why do you think a 8 year old human child trained in the art of kung-fu (or whatever they want to call it) can defend herself against a Decepticon when YOU practically leak all over yourself when you see one?

Honestly, what is he thinking allowing her to keep the key and defend it against the Decepticon's if it's THAT important?

Give me a vision suffering religious nutcase like Optimus Primal any day over this moronic character. :?

Training Sari in martial arts was useful. She used it as a distraction to let prowl attack Meltdown.

Meltdown's ideas of Transforming Humans may have some connection to Headmasters.

The pretender-mutants were probably meant as a homage/easter egg to the decepticon pretenders in general rather than to one particular pretender each.

When Swoop first appeared on Sari's balcony I thought it was Lazerbeak!

Maybe so, but the idea behind the training was for her to defend herself because as guardian of the key she's become a target for the Decepticons. I just can't believe the writers can make Prime so blatantly stupid. Kids show or not.

O.k. just saw this episode for the 2nd time and the dinobots are amazing as far the weapons they carry:
1. grimlock: sword
2. slag: club
3. swoop: ball and chain
Sari is pretty smart for any eight year old she tricked one of the bad guys by saying she had to go potty and figure out that his weakness was water.

The epsiode was great. a little bit doom laden when she went missing at first but not for long.
Then it got darker.
it was truely menacing when Meltdown implying hed turn Sari into a successfull experiment or a monster.
Fanzone is a twit but if he stops insulting machines etc then he might get better.

And i love the flaming weapons of the Dinobots.the flaming chain mace esecially.
I thought Sari would get more important and she has.

Odd she goes to sleep fully dressed but a minor point.

Its good that they focus on diferent characters in each episode.

Prowl is one of the best in the show.
And Bulkhead is nice and funny.
Not like some series where they had Optimus Prime in a lot and hes not that charismatic.
Sari looked like she nailed Ninja Nerve Moves at the end though!

Meltdown is a real danger to all creatures and Collossus Rhodes is just creepy and slightly/a lot dangerous depending on who he fights.
Having variety in villians is good.
Its a nice change.
Meltdown is more menacing cos hes so camp.

Animated gets better and better each episode.
The flinch in your eyes calls your bluff
Feel free to die when youve had enough
Useless cause is breaking your back
Your life will end when you attack

This episode was a disappointment to me considering was a dinobots episode and they hardly got any screentime. Although the ending even though they didn't even show them fighting showed they can handle humanoid like beings lot easier then the other bots.

Concerning the human cast, I'm undecided on should I like or dislike the fact certain human villains seem to be at par or above an Autobot and quite easily defeat one. Now Fanzone in this episode was quite amusing and at moments seem more useful then Prowl and Bulkhead. Now Sari ignoring the key needs to be taken away issue where was the logic in her learning martial arts for the reason stated. Decepticons who all seem to be above the current Autobots in power aren't exactly going to be feeling or threaten by it. Now human villains I could see sort of, considering shes only 8 shes not exactly going to have to much strength and speed behind it. I guess as a distraction which will work usually due to cartoon villain law or something be only reason.

As far as filler episodes are concerned, you have to remember the target audience: children. Before you can have a long, drawn out story arc, you've got to catch their interest.

This means you have to START with self contained, 30 min. stories, as, chances are, there will be lots of kids who do not see EVERY episode one after the next.

Really--consider "average TV watching kid." This kid has seen transformer cartoons in the past (yucky anime stuff... TF's suck!), and so hasn't tuned in to watch. However, one day he happens to see an episode and say "huh... that didn't suck."

The kid might not tune in next week to see the next episode in the series, but if he sees it listed, he might try checking it out again.

Self-contained stories allow for the viewer to watch and enjoy, without all that mucking about with "last time, on Transformers" stuff.

Epic story lines are more for the 13-40 range. I've noticed with my own family that the older you get, the less likely you are to follow a story line (my dad won't watch a lot of new shows because of it, for example). The same holds true for the 'lil ones.

This was pretty boring IMHO, animated has only had a couple of episodes I’ve enjoyed so far with the rest of them being real dumb. I was also disappointed that they brought letdown, I mean meltdown back. The G1 nods are also starting to REALLY wear on me, its not G1 so they should try to make it new instead of candy coating like this. And the only dinobot who ever spoke the entire episode was Grimlock which was another negative because for the way I see it, the entire episode should have been centered around the Dinobots.

In the end though, I will say this, it wasn’t as horrendously painful as Sound and Fury, but was just a bit on the boring side.

ooohh...

well what about Blitzwing?

--EDIT--

Never mind I saw what you're talking about. Blitzwing is next to Lugnut and beneath it says, " Voyager Lugnut and Blitzwing". So his class is unconfirmed so far?

I don’t know if there’s even a prototype made of him yet, there probably is now but we just have yet to see it, the only thing of Blitzwing that was shown at comic-con was concept art.

If you like I could go find the article about this that had pictures.

Even though I’m not the biggest fan of animated it should be interesting to see how they make Blitzwing, and don’t be surprised if more Triplechangers appear throughout Universe and animated since I seem to recall hearing somewhere that Hasbro said they would like to remake all of the original triplechangers in 08.

Not having a computer when Beastwars started I would be curious if there was much negativity about it. I bet there was.

This show is awsome. Watch it just for fun. Let the show happen. I think some people are trying to find things here that aren't there.

At first I thought the animation was different and would not like it. I also refuse(d) to see the new movie. I also hated Energon, cybertron and armada. So, I didn't have much hope for this. But damn if this isn't one hell of a show.

The comedy is broad for kids but look again there are other points of humor in it. You need to read into some and watch backgrounds. No, the other set of humor is laugh till you pee but is good for a chuckle.

They have thrown more G1 references in this series then all of the previous ones. Shoot I think they did that in the first episode.

Stop looking for a fight. If you want to nitpick watch Star Trek.
So relax sit back and enjoy the view.

I don't think anyone is looking for a fight, just stating the pros and cons of the show, and some folks find more cons, but that's perfectly fine.

Re: Episode 12 Discussion

Not a bad episode, some more screen time for Bulkhead, yet still no deeper characterisation for the big guy.

Fanzone was good as comic relief, Prowl entertaining as always, and Meltdown proves himself as a half decent human villain. The Pretender monsters was a very nice nod, the Dinobots transforming was top notch, but I still wish Grimlock was portrayed as a bit more intelligent.

And the more I see of Sari, the more I am coming round to the "Sari is a robot" theory that I've heard of.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

So if I don’t like it I’m not supposed to say anything and if I do I’m looking for a fight? Sorry, but I’ll keep spouting what I hate about the show and when I do I’m not looking for a fight. To me, it seems like some people hate reading negative comments about the show just cause they like it so much and don’t want to hear what other people think.

As for Beast wars, I’m not sure, but probably. I for one had my fair share of things I didn’t like about Beast wars and I doubt I‘m alone.
