One of Sumdac's ex-workers takes control of an Autobot. He then takes the Autobot out on the town.

I noticed that there was a little boy that looked very similar to Daniel from G1 including his clothes which had the letter "D" on them and his mom who had blonde hair which could have been Carly =)
I also thought it was neat to see the G1 Prime Trailer on Animated Optimus.
It seems as though there may be references to G1 and/or Beast Wars in each episode. (Other than the character Namesakes of the main characters) Need to go back and watch the others

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
OK, so todays episode had the same token G1 trough backs and all. For me it wasn't a good episode, but it had it's moments.
I am wondering though, Prime's trailer, if not Hasbro, does anyone think some of the other companies out there making upgrade kits are going to hook it up!?!

Wow I can't believe no one has said this but Headmaster is a total EMO kid. With his stupid little EMO kid haircut it "makes me wanna puke"(bonus points to whom ever guess the quote correctly

Ok so this episode wasn't all that good but it sure was fun to mock you have no idea how many "head" puns I made wile watching it.

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
I thought it was a good episode. Not the best, but still good. It was cool to see the whole Autobot team in action again, instead of just one or two characters.
It was also cool to see Optimus pulling a trailer that looked like his G1 trailer.
When you really think about it, though, the plot didn't make much sense. I mean, if Masterson wants to make headmaster units for "warbots" but Sumdac doesn't make warbots, then that means that there's at least one other robotics company that DOES make "warbots" for the military. So why not just take his idea to them, instead of going nuts and turning into a villian? `Cause you just know that every inventor that can't get funding turns into a criminal, right?? (Sarcasm) That's stupid. Outside of cartoons and comics, that just doesn't happen.
Granted this IS a cartoon, and I usually try not to overthink these kind of things, but this plot just bugs me.
Still, when I put that plot point aside, I still enjoyed the episode.

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
it was freaky.
It wasnt the best but its not terrible in the sense of say Spongebob Squarepants. That is vile and horrible.
I like Bulkhead. he dosnt deserve bad things to happen to him!
And the villain was a little signposted, with the usuel dark shadowed eyes and craziness.
But i guess they had to put a lot of writing into a half hour.
Bulkhead being artistic is good. Adds character.
Someone clearly dosnt like emos who wrote that villain.

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
Probably the weakest episode thus far in my opinion. Headmaster was pretty annoying, and not even oddly absurd like Professor Princess.
His logic was faulty too(and this isn't an exact quote): "The government will pay me to build Headmaster units for war-bots to prevent things like this from happening!" Yeah, that makes sense. Never mind that he was on and hacked into the news feed, and SAID he caused the accident. Blowing up all the witnesses wouldn't make that much of a difference, because Detroit is a big city, and their news probably gets broadcast to several other local areas. Oh yeah, and if the city was going to be blown up, how would he have gotten out in time?
Yeah, so far as a villian Headmaster is teh fail, a noob who totally deserved teh pwning he got. Hope he improves in his eventual comeback episode.

The answer is Apeface from Rebirth.
Very lame episode. Didn't mind the Scorponok looking head, but this was probably the weakest episode so far.

Not horrible, not grand. I like that at the end the headmaster actually turned into a robot from the head mode...that was cool.
This one was very heavy with G1 nods which I don't mind, but I know it puts others in a tizzy as far as their enjoyment. Too bad we couldn't have gotten Roller jumping out of the back of Prime's trailer with Bulkhead's head 'driving'. I know that would have just killed it for some you--more G1 references--.
Nice catch on the Airplane homage Getter.

I have to agree, this is one of the weaker episodes thus far. During the battle with Headmaster, I gotta wonder why Ratchet didn't use his magnets. Some of the references were nice easter eggs.
Why does almost every cartoon/comic "heroic" billionaire have an issue with building military hardware? (Tony Stark seems to be the rare exception).
Is Headmaster's VA the same one as Control Freak in Teen Titans?

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
Eh, not my favorite, but not the worst either. Unlike other episodes, I found that this one lacked the normal cohesion of a clear "theme."
I "think" what they were going for is a statement about strength and art. That without art, one lacks a "soul" and the body becomes nothing but a destructive machine. Masterson lacked the "soul" of someone like Bulkhead, and so could only see destructive potential rather than artistic potential.
If they were, it needed a bit more smoothing out.
However, they're still not really dealing with the fact that Bulkhead is, frankly, too big to be in the city. His lack of co-ordination is causing the city billions of dollars in damages.
How would YOU like for your car to be wrecked by a huge intergalactic robot? I can understand in battle situations, but just in the general day to day going to the park sort of thing.
"Oops, my bad."
Er... no. LAWSUIT!
On another note: instead of swinging a giant wrecking ball around like an idiot, wouldn't it be more productive to just give him a gun?

Agreed! 100% USDA Choice FAIL was Headmaster....and this entire episode! I think it actually topped Meltdown as the Craptastic Award Winner of Season One of TF:A for stupid useless human villians! And I did not think that was possible!! If one could shoot cartoon characters dead, Headmaster would be LOADED with flack right about now! I hate emos with a passion, and Headmaster could NOT be more of the definition of "emo"! Please...do NOT let this POS return in later eps, for the love of god, PLEASE let this puke get sucked into the abyss of one-show-wonders!
One thought I had, though....Sumdac said that he would never make military hardware, yet in, I believe, the second ep, he made law enforcement hardware that failed the fail of a million fails...I do not see a difference. I guess one can chalk that up to an "oops!" in storyline-construction...ah well, yet another G1 easter egg to add to the other blatent and rather silly ones this ep contained!
Bottom Line: Headmaster was HORRID!!! Worst ep to date!!!

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
In hindsight, there was one thing I really liked about the episode, and that was Sumdac seeming rather competent. Sure he's a bit of a bumbler, but he's also one of the richest, if not the richest, guy in Detroit who revolutionized the world with his robots, and it was nice to see him actually acting like top dog.

The implementation was off, but I didn't mind the underlying idea of the story. I guess I work with enough incompetant people on a daily basis to understand the disgruntled employee angle.
Also Sumdac kind of annoys me and I wouldn't mind him getting into some trouble...

I completely was not expecting anything from this episode as I am starting to with the whole series now. This is a waste of our time guys. These prolonged Arcs of Storytelling. I mean it be one thing if it was done Smart and cleverly but its not. Their completetly making us wait for no reason. Their Demographic is Children so GET on with it Already!! WHERE ARE THE DECEPTICONS! When Are the Autobots and Decepticons gonna fight!?! SHow an episode where the Autobots and Dinobots Team up and Then the next Episode they Show the Cons finding Megs and getting his body back and lets ROLL ALREADY! Then Create an "ARK" for from that and on till the end of the season.
Its not Rocket Science its Cartoons!
Im sorry I just think this all could be done so much Differently and Better.
but I will say Props to G1 !
Sorry for all you G1 haters.

Re: Episode 13: Headmaster
Yeah headmaster was a dumbass but so was the other character the voice actor played on teen titans control freak. But that wasn't who this episode was about it was about bulkhead and how felt about always being to strong and not being able to control the power he had. It is another example of them trying to make us connect with each of the autobots on a personal level and like that personally. It gives a vested interest when the really battle against the autobots and decepticons really starts on march 29th with two part episode the return of megatron.

This episode stunk, but I don’t think it was as completely rotten as Sound and Furry (but I get the feeling I‘ll be saying that a lot). First, I hated Headmaster, he was just completely annoying. Second, why is it when Bulkhead is fighting in any normal episode he’s one of the most worthless guys of the bunch, but when Headmaster takes control of his body he’s unstoppable? And also I’m getting sick of these super villains, okay yeah, in some kind of backwards logic they make the decepticons more “threatening” well for one thing I don’t believe that bullshit, but I’ll go with it to say this. When it comes to the point where you have more super villain episodes than you do episodes where they fight decepticons they might as well just change the opening lyrics to “Autobots wage their battles to destroy the evil forces of, super villains”.
Okay, cut the super villains all together and I’d find the show much more enjoyable. I think out or all my problems with the show, that is the one that just goes to far.

Bulkhead is useless in regular combat because he's worried about damaging buildings and stuff. Sure, it doesn't stop him from doing it, but he is concerned about it.
When the headmaster is controling him he's out to cause full scale destruction so he doesn't hold back.
I was glad to see the headmaster grow arms and legs at the end. I still think it should have been a proper headmaster where the human shape transforms into the head though.
Definitely not one of my favourite episodes. When are we going to see more of Blitzwing?!

This episode was lame. I am ready for megatron to come in the show and start a war with the autobots. These human bad guys have got to go. I like humans in the mix of things but not as the main bad guys in the show.
