Really? Cuz it seemed like that, this time around, the writers actually took the time to figure out what they were doing with this one (unlike the disastrous dubs of Armada and Energon) and actually tried to improve on what they were given to work with. This one seemed the most competently done of the Unicron Trilogy series with them actually trying (and in several cases succeeding) to fix some of the weirdness of the original Japanese version.Joker'sRequiem wrote:Worst: Cybertron
I disliked this more than Energon. It just seemed so....off to me. And the forced continuity with A/E didn't help. Gave me some great toys, but I honestly could have done without the cartoon...
Amen to that. 5 out of 26+ episodes just doesn't do a series justice.Joker'sRequiem wrote:Under Consideration: TF: Prime. For me, only having 5 episodes to view makes ranking it anywhere slightly pre-mature.

Still, however, yes, it was a mistake to try and force it in with its two predecessors. I think it works best to view Cybertron as its own series to get the most enjoyment out of it (despite what official canon says).
I'd also recommend watching Galaxy Force (Japanese Cybertron) subbed in English. It lacks any of the forced retcon stuff with Micron Densetsu and Super Link (it wasn't retconned in with them until after it was completed), but doesn't have any of the fixes made by its dub (i.e. - Burning Justice just happens without explanation, and stock footage galore is more noticeable).Joker'sRequiem wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Really? Honestly I could put Energon right next to Cybertron. I did feel the writing was better, I just didn't like the gimic (Cyber Planet Keys) and aside from Gary Chalk and Paul Dobson I didn't care for the voice acting. The main thing, though, was the forced continuity. I hated Landmine going from the somewhat sizeable Energon version to his downsized Cybertron version (which is why I use them as separate characters) or Override being a woman in the dub, but (do to being male in the Japanese version) having a less than feminine toy (which I use as a male character anyway). Although Cybertron does get redeemed for having Primus (the toy more so than in the show). I guess having a bit more time to think it over, I'll at least move Energon into a tie with Cybertron. And on a good day I'll give Cybertron the benefit of the doubt.

G1
Beast Wars
Headmasters
Victory
S.M.G.F
Armada
Beast Machines
R.I.D
I've enjoyed the 6 eps of TF:Prime a lot but it is too soon to fairly judge

All:
G1
TF:Prime TAS
TFA
Beast Wars
Beast Machines
TF:Cybertron
TF:Armada and Energon. (I really don't know which is worst. Energon is simply too boring that I haven't even watched past episode 4, RID is also boring as I haven't made it past the FIRST episode, and Armada is kinda okay, but Carlos is the worst thing to be spawned in the TF universe. He's so annoying that he brings Chip from G1 to a kingly/presidential level.)
And now that i've watched "fully":
G1
TFA
Beast Wars
Beast Machines
TF:Cybertron
TF:Armada
Note: This is strictly MY opinion.

G1- because it's the original and kicks ass.
Beast wars-the show I grew up on , great characters and storylines.
TFA-Although I didn't really like the character designs I must admit the storylines (Except those left open) were awesome .
Beast machines-was ok
RID- was good at first but too many characters , and the stories soon got boring.
The unicron trilogy- I'm not saying it wqas bad but wasn't brilliant either, although i am thankful the minicons were introduced.great toys from armada too.
Haven't watched any TF prime yet, is it any good ? I just haven't had time to sit down and watch it
