Michael Bay hasn't turned Transformers to crap, the fans have! I hope those of you responsible are proud of your accomplishment and enjoy your narrow-mindedness.

Hero Nonsense...It is G1 Based...If not for G1 there would be no Transformers. The name of the movie is stupid, the characters are stupid, the design are really stupid. If Bay wasn't such an egomaniac it probably wouldn't bother me but because he thinks Transformers belongs to him, it makes the whole experience suck. Give us the bots we know, and tell a new story, that is all that is needed a new story. The Fallen? Give me a break. Ive Fallen and I can't get up!! This movie is super lame. Ill buy the dvd, but its a no go on the movie tickets.

As far as the rights to make a live action movie goes... Yes. It belongs to him, suck it up. This is what happens when companies choose to sell the rights to different media in order to make more money. Bay's company payed Hasbro for the ability to make the movies so he himself could also make money.

I really don't get you Cooly I really don't. Your last few posts seem like it a kid is writing them and yet your bio says 29 so I take a look at your post history to dig a little deeper, to get a better idea about where you are making your full stance about the film. And for somebody who is so negative abour this whole "Bayverse" to use a phrase, why do some of your posts make it look like you were actually getting into it? After the first screen caps were posted, and I quote:

Honestly dude, I don't like what is unfolding. My age should totally help you understand. The title....the characters....the title....What if bay did a Batman flick and gave Batman a sidekick named Hawkman? Or what if Bay made a Spiderman movie with Lex Luther as the enemy? Its just too much so far that just don't go together. Transformers 2 is what it is, but dude had to go George Lucas on us. Why? hey its HIS movie, maybe Popeye, Pink Panther & She Ra can make cameos in Transformers Rolling On The Floor. Don't take it personal, I will not go to the movies to see it. I don't trust this insecure director. Favorites like Soundwave, Prowl, WheelJack are not revealed yet we get this fugly Dev? I don't know who the Fallen is, I grew up watching the REAL Transformers. I know who Megatron, Prime, Starscream, Frenzy, Ironhide, Bumblebee, Jazz & Ratchet are. I didn't know blackout and barricade. Way too many cool characters from the REAL Transformers are being skipped over for the home grown bots. You know I even watched Beast Wars in middle school, but it wasn't like the REAL Transformers I watched in elementary. Change in style and look is cool, but adding Sewerbots and Crustycons is lame. Again I don't remember 3 bots being Arcee, I recall it being ONE female bot. A little consistent is all I'm asking as fan, its not coming so I am not supporting. Ill bash it until Hasbro decides to REBOOT it, Hey it worked for Batman.

Anyhow...what really surprises me is that we never noticed the "Anubis" mark on the CGI image. Of course the lighting on the image at the start of the thread is not conducive to showing off such things and since I did not really think about till a moment ago, I have yet to enlarge the image to see if it was actually there or if it was something that only showed in the frames from the actual movie/trailers. Editor and I, being Stargate fans, should probably have seen it right off the bat if it were noticable. It should be great fun to see how much of the Egyptian lore was "influenced" by the Fallen or vice-versa. A deactivated Fallen may well have been
the subject of ancient Egyptian "taggers" (assuming that he was not one of the protoforms that landed on Earth in this movie)
Either way it should be interesting to see how it plays out.

1. Well yes, I can understand you not liking the title if you have no clue what it means. If you don't care who the fallen is, then I'm sure you wouldn't care to understand his need for revenge.
2. The Fallen is an existing character within the G1 universe, hell he had a toy released not that long ago. Yes he is a newer edition to G1, (and as he is one of the 13 created directly by Primus, most other universes as well) but he has a history that if the movie one copys a portion of will make him a huge badass that will rip up the screen.
3. yhea, this one is a stretch, but if it didn't have Arcees name on it, would it be as bad a concept? I would have to believe so seeing this has been known for a while now when you on the bandwagon, even to the point they were in the trailor that you clearly enjoyed.
4A. GM commercial.... Did you watch the first one, where the Autobots (except) Prime were all from the same company? So much so They had to use a Ford for Barricade as GM didn't want their line on both sides, and have to bill him as a Saleen Custom so Ford would come after them? In other words NOTHING NEW HERE
4B. Trax and Bolt??? Glad to see you really are paying attention seeing their names were revealed as Skids and Mudflap.
5. Again nothing new here, ask Wing Saber, or Energon Omega Supreme, or hell lets go G1 and ask Hi-Q how he likes joining up with Prime.
6. Yes this looks bad, and may indeed be bad, but seeing we don't know the full story yet, maybe there is a reason for it. Hell that might just be a human spy rather than a TF for as much as we currently know.

Honestly, your bitching has exploded in the last few days and I really think you are just doing it for the sake of it. Come on Popeye? really, why not Rainbow Brite? You know that those won't happen. as for changing thing dramticly That is the whole point of a reboot, take something old and freshen it up, That's why Batman has done it. (Also why he's not an old man right now seeing most super-heros if they were as old as their origens would be retired) That's why Iron Man was in a cave in the middle east instead of south-east asia. Transformers gets a reboot every couple years, will their be one for the movies? Maybe but not soon, and likely not reverting back as far as your asking. Clearly something major has changed your opinion that we have yet to pinpoint, but from your list so far, i'm just not seeing it. With the exception of seeing the CGI for Devs & the Fallen. Now admitting as much, clearly Devs, its not what you expected, again I point to your Gizmo Duck comments but frankly, I've was expecting him to be like that from the point they started talking about him, I did however think he would have better posture, but with Mixmaster sitting there... As for the Fallen, sure he's nothing like anything from G1 where nobody had a bot mode that looked more human (except A3, Orion Pax, and plenty others)

The bit I find really sad (personal opinion) is that the information I used in responding to your list is all facts and/or information that is easily available. Bios for the Fallen, partners of Prime, and details for the movie are available all over this site and on TFwiki.net if you are willing to do homework before just griping.

One last thing seeing you only care about REAL transformers clearly you must be a trueG1fan.But to each his own.........

T-Mack, You know I hadn't taken that close a look into his features to see the mark of Anubis until it was pointed out, thou I had a feeling that he was the reason for shooting at the pyramids. It's strange that after all the stuff I learned about Egypt in school and books when I was younger (As i was fasinated for a bit) completely takes a back seat to what we know about the Goa'uld when it comes to this stuff.

Thanks to your highlighting that spot you helped to add more creedance to the theory that I and a few others have been tossing around. Deductive thinking behind some of the ideas floating around, I can handle. The stuff people have pulled out of thin air with nothing to support it, that's what has been bugging me lately.

Not to mention the fact that you can still catch a matinee for cheaper than the price of a DVD. Makes more sense to me to see it on the big screen than to buy the DVD and be stuck with the disc afterwards if you don't like it. Yeah, you could sell it marked-down but you're still going to lose on the deal. But, in all reality,I guess you don't have to worry either way. You are already convinced that the movie is crap so you won't be seeing it in any medium anyway or wasting any money on the movie toys either since you would be supporting the crappy movie.

um are you seriously comparing this reboot to Batman and Ironman as a way to defend the new designs? those were reboots done the way the G Oners wanted it done...based on the source material and updated.

The old Devastator was cool as a color coordinated (since construction vehicles are all the same color, I know NOT green) and looking like a giant robot...since he became a giant robot, not a monster. The new Devastator really looks like a storm of parts with a weird internal glow, like a storm of magic animated a bunch of metal. Hes also lego colors. Its cooler when combiners look like the things they are made up of, not just the colors of the things...it kinda emphasizes they are, y'know, combined parts, not playdoh bits melded together.

The fallen is ok I guess, but "cybertronian jet" AGAIN? I hope he is really tall and godlike, not just running around jumping everywhere. And I hope he talks and seems intelligent, unlike Megatron who had very limited expositison.

I agree that the movie has a totally different feel than the other series. But I think that that's almost part of the fun to some degree... You know, first G1 then G1 post-animated movie, then a whole bunch of other re-renderings of the same characters with different voices and storylines... I honestly thought we'd be used to it by now. Just look at Beast Wars, that was WAY off! If I'm honest, I'd prefer a live action with the original G1 rederings, as well. But on the other hand, I got a number of the movie figures over there on my shelf. I'm just in it for the coolness, not the continuity. Otherwise, I would've quit back in the 80's! Anyway, that's just my tuppense...

The fallen just looks amazing. His head has a really odd shape but it does look rather good.

the Devastator - in my opinion - is really good. Especially the head. It took me a while to work out where the section of the trailer was, but its the torso. But yer its grown on me from when i first saw it.
The face is so cool with the green.

2. i like another bad guy, but if megs is back, and starscream has been the leader in the meantime... too many head bad guys seems like the plot will be bad concerning these characters... so that part does scare me
3. i agree that there seems to be way too much combining already... comeon.. bay should know better than to overuse such a gimmick... devestator should be the only combiner.. period
4. i guess what you are saying is that you don't like all the GM vehicles... i agree that i don't like all Chevy vehicles.. cause there are a lot of other cool GM vehicles they are missing out on.. where's the saabs, the pontiacs, the cadialacs,... to add what you are saying... i really don't like the head designs of the twins i've seen... i'm hoping the movie helps me out on this

1 - Titles great, what i ask if why the fallen (that big transformer thing) wants the revenge.

2 - The fallen looks really cool, his head shape is, odd, but good. H just looks so different, and stands out from all the other transformers.

3 - As for Acree, i don't know enough about her, but it sounds cool, 3 bikes merging to make one transformer.

4 - sure the cars could be bigger, but i personally think they are good. It makes then stand out from the decepticons that are mainly a lot bigger. But that makes the story better as it makes the autobots look weaker and harder for them to win.

5 - Prime combining used to look ok in one of the old animated series i saw (no idea which one) but i really don't know how it will look on the film. We can only be possotive though.

6 - If the ice cream truck inst perminant, then i dont mind. Unawise it might look pants having an autobot firing corneto's at the decepticons.

7 - It wouldn't bother me if the transformations are less confusing AS LONG AS we don't see a transformers transformation change. I mean, it would be weird if transformers from the first film transformed differently suddenly. But new transformers it wouldn't matter.

8 - I have no idea what a pretender bot is...

9 - Well just be possotive about the plot until you've seen it.

10 - Well we have seen most of the bots maybe, but still there are some new ones. I am really hoping we see starscream develop as a character.

As far as the pretender goes and it being from Terminator.
Yes, The Terminator came out in 1984 and is nothing new at this point, but here is the argument.

In The Terminator the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 is a robot outfitted with a human exoskin, once the exoskin is shed that it is just the robot, who would require servicing to repair the exoskin.

Transformers introduced Pretenders in 1988 as exoshells that could hide the bot inside, to be split into a secondary slave unit once the bot releases himself. The bot could then readmit himself to the slave unit.

These are different concepts. The T-1000 would be a closer idea in that it could morph between two forms, but it didn't have a slave unit and also T2-JD came out in 1991.

Now, how Bay has chosen to use the concept is anyone's guess at this point, but regardless, Pretenders have been in Transformers (G1) for 2 decades, so it's not like Bay is ripping off anything seeing its a definitive part of Transformers lore.
