I can't find any mention of a reissue of Shockwave on TFwiki. I was thinking of buying this, but I don't want to buy a KO.

I would think it's rights, but didn't Sky Lynx and a few other non-Takaras get a reissue? I'm guessing the only non-Takara G1 with completely insurmountable rights issues would be Jetfire. That's not to say rights might not play a part (maybe they could get the rights but they'd cost too much to make it worthwhile) but given how many variations of the pre-Shockwave were around back in the day, if they molds even still exist, they must be pretty degraded.
I could be entirely wrong, I admit.Just musing off the top of my head.

Are you referring to the original, or the KO?
If one were to "accidentally" (because, of course, I would never support the KO market)purchase a KO, could rust be prevented by applying some kind of protectant?
