7,500 seems extremely high.

Why? There's at least that many ROTF Bumblebee repaints....

But that belies my thought. If repaints count, then there could be that many. I know that like, "Freeway Jazz" and regular ol' Jazz are the same character (for Animated at least, I guess) but since we either throw around or get beaten up by continuity issues, then are G1 Jazz and G2 Jazz and SG Jazz and Animated Jazz and movie Jazz all the same guy? If they all are seperate, and if HAsbro is counting variants of the individuals as individuals, then every incarnation of Jazz is a seperate Jazz, which would make "Battle damaged Jazz" or whatever a seperate Jazz as well. Plus, there are 1.6 trillion Optimus PRimes before we count repaints. So, 7,500 does sound like a lot, but it could be do-able.

I know we don't have a say but I think for the human side of things the inaugural class should include good old Siebertron himself. He's like the Bruno Sammartino of TF's.

I think that you can count a series Prime as a separate possible entity. Any of the same series, probably not.

I believe this is more character driven than toy driven, even though it is HASBRO, so when they mention Optimus Prime, I interpret it as the character from the G1 cartoon. If they wanted to signify a different one to be in the HOF, I think it would need to appropriate prefix (sort of).

I guess we will all find out when Botcon rolls around and they have the HOF dinner, we'll find out. They may be saying it could reference all OP's, or strictly G1. At this point, it is not something that I know that they made clear.

Transformer characters AND humans responsible for the franchise, and they're only inducting five?!?

I know there'll be more in later years, but five is less than a thousandth of the good ones.

i want Shockwave, but it will most likely be Grimlock or Soundwave which is fine. They are worthy. I wonder when they'll get to me? A3. Hope it's someday & i don't get skipped over.

where do we put our preliminary top 5 vote???

Agreed, but this is supposed to be 'the best of the best' so to speak.

That makes perfect sense. I'd never thought of it that way, that they'd just induct Primes of specific series as opposed to general Prime. That's much more sensible though, because while G1 Optimus is an icon, most of the other ones are not. Yes, ok, the movieverse is the greatest thing effar, but at the present time I think it would be absolutely absurd to state that the movie version bears the same weight as a character which is 25 years old and set the template for every Optimus to follow.
I guess I thought it was just going to be "Optimus Prime" and therefore every Prime of all time was an inductee. Your idea is much more sensical Tigertracks. Thanks!
