Professor Smooth and I went meandering through downtown Fukuoka Japan today, looking for what the legends told us was an unbelievable 5-story otaku store. Well, we found it. And what we found inside made Smooth utter things about God people who know him would never believe unless captured on video. Since I had neglected to bring my video camera, instead I will show off what we took home between us.

Image
Yes, that is an original Predaking set, in original boxes.
Yes, that is an original boxed Abominus giftset.
Also Clear Beast Wars Optimus Primal, Kissplay Hot Rodimus x2, MP-02 Masterpiece Magnus, and TFC collection Blitzwing.

My personal share in the booty, as I am generally a collector of cute stuff only, were these two pieces.

Image
I first saw Vector Prime at Seibertron's house and I swear I almost kidnapped that figure on the spot it was so detailed and beautiful. I'm not sure if I prefer Vector in the Japanese grey or the US release of white though. But at least I have one.

Image
This little oddity is Heinlad, so I'm told. I picked him up because 1) I like Tanuki statues and the mythology behind them and 2) I needed a kitchen clock and this was rather conveniently inexpensive.
For more fun facts about this utterly Japanese kitsch piece, check out Seibertron's amusing Heinlad Gallery, in which he goes into the very detailed (and accurate) history of Japanese Tanukis. Funniest thing I've read in a long time!

That's all for me. Smooth got the lion's share, but I got the two pieces out of it as a finder's fee and for helping carry the massive stack home. :D

Question, how much do the Preds and the Abominus gift pack cost in Japan?
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Predaking was sold as a set for 18,900 yen and Abominus was 8,400 yen (amusingly enough, only 3,000 yen more than the original sticker price still on the box).

Ryan, that's one of the best galleries you've ever done. Captions are always welcome!

Good haul, JS. I am jealous, to say the least.

Yes, but not my segment of it. My Vector and Tanuki were only 2,400 yen total.

So around $150 US for the predaking and $71 for the abominus is that correct?

Not sealed, unfortunately. We'll see what they sell for on the secondary market over the next 4 days, though. ;)

I'm impressed, but there's no way I'm going to Japan. Even if it means I'd get to Gaijin SMASH my way through a model of Tokyo.
