I am with my girlfriend two years today!!! And to celebrate my girlfriend got me two rats!!!!

They are awesum!!! I've named them Borat and of course squeaker!

I love rats! Had two of them myself a few years ago called Ben and Vinnie. Was kinda disturbing though because within a week of Vinnie dying I dissected a rat that looked exactly like him in biology

Those are some of the nicest guys ever seen. Names are cool.
You'll get used to the night bit,becomes soothing. They also
purr like a cat when they relax on your shoulder.

Little tid bits of advise....no carbonated anything for them.
they can't burp. Don't use any soap to bathe them,just a luke
warm rinse,under the tap...beware they may fly away from you.

Can't count how many..wish could send a snap,but soon. Her
name is sweetie..dumbo rat....ears as dumbo the cartoon bit,
grey fur as b bunny. loves bike rides,play wrestle and is my
alarm clock as well. Raise them like a combo of a cat and a dog. After a while...won't need to lock em up,just give them
designated areas. sweetie has the front room,table with her house. Kitchen on top of the cabinet,little veranda...bird cage. lounge,with small veranda. she doesn't run off.

Best thing I can say is....tap them on the nose if they do
something not good. They'll chew on anything soft rubber,remotes,phone buttons. So congrats...they eat what you eat...minus sugar and alcohol..cheese and milk aren't
the greatest,but good for a small treat.

Any questions...post em...will answer most...minus what a vet
could say. grim.

Rats are cool, I want one, but my wife hates them, we have hamsters instead, and they are just too small to do anything with, cute though.

I like rats because they are smart. A friend of mine had one and he would tell it to bring something(small) to him and it would! A rat playing fetch is pretty cool.

Oh boy, are you in for some fun! I've had my ratties for about a year, I now have nine!! One's pregnant, but one has rat cancer, and wow is she hard! - She uses her tumour as a pillow.

Rats are awesome! Have heaps of fun with them!

I had a guinea pig called Squeaker once.

Died of serious diarrhoea. Was not pleasant for either party involved.

Something of..... I have one little friend,who's final remains..rest
in a family shrine in the house. Others...are resting in the backyard..

As in their last days...one died in my hand,dec23/07..after injesting
bacon flavoured bait...gave her too much freedom,as in designated areas.
Others when they were suffering..I put them down...the look in their
eyes was relief. Was raised in the city,but had the opp to see friends,relatives and spent time in the country and maritime sections
of planet...so that's how country folk do it. Old yeller...

Lastly for the bit...current little friends...don't have as much freedom,but their lives are longer..as in you have your house,kitchen
area which is casa rodento,or the office lounge..gremsarena(rc game table),..or on dad..and the bicycle.

They still go out...rides,meet good people...they know,dad only does
the best for them...hope this gives something...mucho grim..

As for my rat updates, Cancer rat passed away a few months back, I now have her ashes sitting next to my bed. Pregnant rat miscarried or reabsorbed. Grrr. I now have ten rats.

One has been AWOL since the Thrus before Easter. He's hiding under a stack of collasped boxes and recyling, and he's too fast for my lazy arse. Off to the SPCA to get a non-fatal rat trap, as the ball-less little bugger hasn't fallen for any of my DIY traps.

But as a "oh my gosh, that is creepy" comment.... i bought some of those sticky pad mouse/rat traps, so when a rat walks over it they get stuck, then you just peal them off.

I laid them down where he was hanging around, woke up in the morning and checking before I put my feet down... in case of sleeping rat. I see the traps laid in a perfect line where my hoof would go.

If it was one, I'd pass it off as a coincidence, but the two of them??
