So guys, what do you think?! IDW got Sonic from Archie, and the new comics come out in April! So far it looks as if Sonic is returning to his roots (thank goodness. Archie comics Sonic books were getting crazy with their multi-verse Sonic thing going on). I love IDW. They do a fantastic job with Transformers, so I have high hopes for their Sonic the Hedgehog.

I'm personally looking forward to the crossover with transformers...come on if they can cross x files with transformers, then they can cross these.

An added bonus, here's an idea:
(Based off IDW timeline buy not current)

Swindle sells cybertonian tech to Dr eggman/Robotnik. Ultra Magnus assembles a team to retrieve it as it breaks the tyrest accords. Mayhem ensures, follow up ideas can include the cons finding out about the chaos emeralds and make an alliance with metal sonic (who was made with transformers tech so has a spark)...oh god, this is making too much sense...

I've also mused over the idea with my husband once I found out IDW had gotten the rights to making the Sonic comics. I could see Robotnik and Megatron teaming up in an effort to get control of Mobius ( though of course each of them would also secretly have plans to overthrow the other, as their true agreement was just to use each other). I could also see Blurr finding a worthy racing opponent, of the likes he's never had before. Also Bumblebee would totally love hanging with Tails. Lol.

I pegged wheeljack to be hanging with tails, both being inventors and all ironhide can pair up with knuckles

That is true! I also forgot BB died...RIP. That is, depending on where in the timeline going to Mobius would go. I wonder if IDW also got the rights to characters previously exclusive to Archie, like Princess Sally and Bunny, etc.

Most likely not *hears a lot of rejoice and anger for certain ships from the Sonic fandom and quiet scoots further away*

Anyway, I lost track of who appears in the comics a long time ago. Seriously, you thought the games were bad, the comics are ten times worse, put mildly. This is a good opportunity for a good old-fashioned reset. A proper one, not the mess that's the Genesis Wave.

I hear you.....it's sure to be a reset. Whatever the course is, Im all for it! It should be better than Sonic Forces...and ughhh Sonic Boom *cough hack wheez*. Sonic Mania was where it was at!!

I'm happy that a lot of the characters have been left behind, as I read certain things which I think are better left unresolved...besides we all know it's amy x sonic *runs*

Seriously though, I'm hoping that we can start a run of really great sonic games following sonic mania (yes I know sonic forces came out after but I like to think that they looked at the numbers and wanted to carry on the one that sold and reviewed better)

Amy is cute, but really annoying! Sally is more mature and she kicks ass...but if she and her other Knothole friends don't show up in these comics, I have a feeling it'll still be good. Also, I fully agree with you about Sonic Mania....it was a return to true form for Sonic. Forces, although quirky for it's custom character thingy...was mostly a let down. Classic Sonic all de wei!! I hope we see a Sonic Mania 2 or something like that.

Well only reason I say amy is that the games established her first in CD though in America I think Sally debuted in the cartoon before CD release (as far as I'm aware i don't think Japan got that cartoon)

Yah I'm pretty sure that Japan didn't get SatAM. It was imo the best Sonic cartoon. Too bad it was canceled. The early Archie Sonic comics during the Sega Genesis era were still awesome, and basically continued the same adventures. I'm also pretty sure Sally appeared begore Amy's debut in CD. I do though, like Amy's newer look better (Sonic Adventure, etc) than her appearance in CD.

Her cd appearance was pure 90s. The best sonic cartoon is tied between the original cartoon and sonic x.

I used to read the Archie comics as a kid. IDK how well the two would do in a crossover but maybe if they had the same level of writing as the new Sonic cartoon does it might be good. Things with the sonic games and shows tend to be hit or miss so I'll try not to get my hopes up though.
