Shadowman wrote:It IS illegal, but the fun part is, it's totally untraceable! And, hell, the only thing that COULD trace it is Spyware! And if the RIAA uses that to catch you, you could sue their asses right back for infecting your computer with spyware!
And it's okay if you use it in YouTube videos, since you could pass that off as saying you have the CD, and give proper credit in the video.

Hmm, ok, many thanks
So if I pop in the Transformers Movie DVD(Which I do own) and record the voices, with proper credits, this would be legal, correct?
Oh, and what is RIAA?

Oh, and what is RIAA?
"Recording Industry Association of America," or, more accurately, "Really Irate Assholes Association."
Of course, it may be different if you don't live in the US, but they can still get you. (Well, not on this, but you get the idea)

That's the beauty of it! Legally, they can't! It's impossible unless they put spyware into your computer, which, if that were to happen (And it's very unlikely) you could easily sue them for a large amount of money!

Though if you're only recording it off of something to listen to on CD, you should burn in Hell.
Blitz Magnus wrote:This doesn't concern Transformers, but if anyone can clarify this for me, I would be very grateful. I know it does seem out of place, but I don't know where to ask![]()
1-Is it illegal to use Windows Sound Recorder and record music off the internet if it is nearly impossible to find and download?
2-I make stopmotion movies and put em on youtube.com, and I get ALL my background music and voices through sound recording these off other sources of the internet, such as a video playing.
In summary: Is it illegal to sound record music?
AND is it illegal to use this sound recorded music in a movie that I will post on youtube and give credit to?
Example of Credit:What I've Done, by Linkin Park
Any help is much appreciated.
PS-Should I post this in the General Discussion forum instead?
