Don't forget to support local Chicagoan Paul/Diablien/Starscream by purchasing one of the awesome Peter Cullen t-shirts available at his company RIPT Apparel. Sale ends in two hours.

Image

Today only RIPT Apparel is offering a one-a-kind t-shirt design by artist Ninjaink titled "Voice of a Generation". The design features none other than the beloved voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, in a classic pose any comic book fan will recognize. Ninjaink created this design because of his love of the original Transformers series and to pay homage to the voice of one of the 80's most recognizable figures.

Ninjaink has been gracious enough to donate his proceeds from the sale of the shirt to the Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island, and RIPT Apparel has chosen to match that donation. $2 of each item sold will be donated to the hospital on behalf of both RIPT and the artist. Peter Cullen himself was honored to be portrayed in such a grandiose way and has given his blessing for the design created by Ninjaink.

This shirt will only be available at RIPT for 24 hours starting at midnight CST Tuesday April 3 for $10. Get yours before Botcon and maybe get a chance to have Mr. Cullen himself sign this iconic tee.

Rosemont Target has a whole lotta nothing, TF-wise. Tons of TFP Bees, a couple Cliffjumpers, and a Ratchet. A few Cyberverse Optimuses, and the current Bot Shots. Also a couple of the DOTM Dlx Optimus w/ trailer.

They also have 3 or 4 pegs' worth of DOTM Deluxes, mostly Nitro Bees. These have been there for a long while, except now they're $15.89, up from 12.99. That'll get them moving. Dar. :HEADHURTS:

Anyway, I found Cyberverse gold at Des Plaines KMart: Blue Soundwave, Mirage, Breakdown, and Evac! I'm afraid I took the only one of each, but they are out! Hop to!

I might be interested in your Powermaster Optimus Prime as long as it's complete with the box. Are the stickers applied? Does it include the short smokestacks as well? Any pics? Would you ship it priority mail for $10? Can't commit to it at the moment, but I'm interested.

This is more a novelty report, but I stopped at a Tuesday morning on the border or Darien and Woodrigde, just to look for lulz. I found an RtS Tracks which I bought, a few DOTM HA basics including Whirl, who'd I'd never seen before, and a few Legends Prowls. The HAs and Legends I left there. Almost grabbed a few of the HAs, but I haven't bought any of the HA stuff at all to this point, and decided against starting now. Anyway, they had a few pegs of these generic robot toys packaged as Quick Change, and they were some terrible looking bugs and odd dinosaurs, but some of them were KO Transformers. There was at least one of the G2 Cyberjet styled figures, and then some upsized Armada minicons. They were sold in three different two packs, but they were the minis for the Requiem Blaster and the Skyboom Shield. The real strange ones were two packs of G1 Strafe and Lightspeed, and Cutthroat and Rippersnapper. They also had two packs of the Liozak guys, but they don't look like they're combination-capable. They look cheap like hell, but they were very interesting to look at.

Went out hunting today with the hopes of finding some new TFP figures, but that didn't end up being anything but a waste of gas. I did however get the club incentive Runamuck figure today in the mail. I guess with the issues of CC fraud the least that could be done was an earlier than expected release of this guy.

Also got mine today, too. Found out my card was one of the one's taken in the hack job...sadly, all they did was spend $150 at WalMart.com...I mean SERIOUSLY...if you're going to steal someone's card use it for something BIG! Not for flippin groceries...I feel jipped...

For anyone who still needs them, the Wal Mart on State in Rockford has deluxe Arcee and Ratchet. In fact they had every character. But only 2 cases were out...the store shelves still look completely barren.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Has anyone else noticed a near-complete lack of Transformers figures on the shelves the last year of so? The only store that has fully stocked shelves anymore is TRU. WalMart and Target are spotty at best, and KMart is good if you want TF figs more than a year old. One wonders if the stores not stocking these toys are the real reason why Hasbro had a bad quarter and overall sales...

Yeah I have noticed that. Walmart especially, those shelves have been barren for months and have not improved what so ever. Huge HUGE gaps between displays with lingering Botshot packs and the occasional Prime deluxe. Course, lets face it, Rockford has ALWAYS been terrible about getting any sort of distribution. I'm surprised we still don't have row after row of Dark of the Moon figures. I gave up going out and searching honestly, cause its a waste of gas.

Sorry I haven't been around in a while all. I continue to have issues loading the website...and I've tried everything I can think of to prevent it. But still nothing new to report in the Rockford area. Hope everyone had fun at botCon...one of these days I'll get back there again. But that probably won't happen unless they bring it back to the midwest again...especially as I FINALLY found a full time job (after more than three years and 1,500+ applications) and won't have as much free time as I used to.

It was great seeing and getting to hang out a little bit with some of the Illinois guys from around here at BotCon ... Grant, jessecuster, Dennis, and Paul. If I forgot anyone, my apologies. For those of you who've made it in years past that weren't there, you guys missed an awesome time hanging out. While BotCon 2012 wasn't my favorite BotCon as far as convention stuff goes (lackluster Hasbro panel, 50/50 on the exclusives, lack of big reveals, etc), it was by far my favorite BotCon for the social experience. There were a ton of people there that I knew ... ton of people from Seibertron.com. Largest outing of Seibertron.com people yet. It was surreal how many people were listening to myself, Counterpunch, Razorclaw, Tigertracks, and jon3.0 on the podcast. Awesome time. Can't wait to get together with everyone again.
