I'm confused...

Postby Bumbled » Wed Jun 13, 2007 4:35 am

Hey I saw this Bumblebee toy titled : Fast action battlers, Plasma Punch Bumblebee or something like that. When I looked at it and compared it to the 2008 deluxe of Bumblebee it looked exactly the same.

Is there any difference?? Why do they call one a different name to the other??

Bumblebee is the name of the character.
Fast Action Battlers is the name of the series (subline).
Plasma Punch is his attacks name.

Each of the Fast Action Battlers have the same setup.

I don't know the names of all, but it works like this:

Optimus is the name of the character.
Fast Action Battlers is the name of the series.
Whatever name is the name of his attack.

And so on, for each figure in the line.

I think he ment if ther is a difference between the two toys!
Cos he states they look exactly the same.

Ah, I did not catch that, thank you for pointing that out.

To answer that question (which still applies to my original post)

Fast Action Battlers are generally the same size and price range as the normal Deluxe Class figures. However, the FABs are far more simple and their individualized gimmick (like Bumblebee's Plasma Punch) is the main selling point. Automorph is one of the selling points to the Deluxe Class.

There are two versions of Deluxe Class Bumblebee (the actual in movie toy):

'76 (we all thought it was '74, it was corrected by a automobile magazine) Camaro in the film (available now at retail).

'09 Camaro (which is also in the film, and looks a lot like the FAB, not available at retail until late July, early August.)

Granted, they do all seem to look alike, but I assure you, the Deluxe Class figures and the FABs are not one and the same. They are two very different toys.

So is there any reason to pick up the kiddified Fab if one already has the Deluxe?

Only if you have a kid for the kiddified version. Or if you're a hardcore completist.

So the deluxe is definately superior.

The Deluxe is more articulated, has a more 'total' transformation, and isn't gimmickified beyond belief.

Oh, maybe FAB's will be easier to disassemble and repaint. There ya go, that's something, at least.

If you wanna pick up the FAB's do it at Toys R Us in the next 3-4 weeks, they are cheaper there, and so if you dont like them, at least you have only spent $20, instead of closer to $30.

Another major diffference between FAb's and the normal deluxes is that there are much fewer 'parts' and panels on the FAB's (due to the simplified Transformation, thus less to break in this brittle line.
