hmm, ahm..., so sonray, where can i get this excellent figure in stores when they're already discontinued for 3 years... if the store carries these items, they will most likely to sell it as a vintage toy, and they can cost up to $200- 250 bucks max. and there's no trailer comes with it, and you also get the infamous shorten smokestacks. i mean if i'm gonna pay that amount of price which i'm mot, why not buy the takara ones with the trailer?

I got my 20th anni figure out of TRU just a couple of months ago, and cost £50. No trailer i know, but you can buy those seperateley for $70. And like i said, the short smoke stacks are easy to fix.

i'm surprise they have good price deal for masterpiece prime with the trailer for only 150 bucks US, and the alone prime figure mp-01 cost only 90 bucks US!!! those are sweet deal. do you guys think they get more of those masterpiece collection? and starscream for 80 bucks is a steal. the guys over toys on fire sell their starscream for $179.99 canadian, which is a suckier price. god i hate them!!!

Yes, there are two Versions of Hasbro's 20th Prime one with a black gun the other grey... both have battle damage.

Hasbro's Movie Prime is Orange but it's not as revolting as say kicking a puppy. It's still a great figure just with a bad paint job.

Goodluck finding any of the back issued Primes for less that 100 bucks. Takara's twice that. I hate to say it, but you joined in on the band wagon a little too late.

On second thought look for a private message from me. I might have an option you can consider.

I was just thinking that maybe you could getb the 20th anniversary Prime off Ebay if no stores carry them anymore. I didnt know they had been discontinued.

You should be able to pick up a 20th anni prime for ALOT less then an MP one, and really, trust me, they are EXACTLY the same just the 20th anni prime has short smoke stacks and battle damage. The paint and chrome and quality of the figure are all the same as the Takara MP version and all for ALOT less.

Like i said if the short smoke stacks bother you that much you can buy replacement die cast long ones off ebay. Just swap em over and then you have an MP Prime!

As for a trailer you can buy those for about $70. I knew of a website that made them, they wasnt by Takara but they was just as good. Again, check on Ebay for them, and try Google as well, search for Masterpiece Optimus Prime trailer or something.

i know all the prime figures are the exact mold either from takara or hasbro. it's just the paint job that bothers me. i mean congragulate hasbro you manage to screw up a terrific figure into a cheap ass toy. prime is the most iconic fictional character in my mind, he's the hero in everyone's childhood. i just wish american toy companies can start paying attention to the fans' needs. i mean i've been waiting for a kick-ass realistic good looking robot standing on my shelves, so people can wow and say where did you get that?! now in my mind my friends will laugh and point at me and say aren't prime supposed to be a big red truck, cuz he looks orange to me...
so anyhow CyberTooth, any suggestions from you would be find, self paint job, buy another one. i just want my prime to be in red. btw all the sites are offering the toy in such outrageous price, when people buy it will feel like a sucker.at the end we all loose our moral senses.

So here you could get the 20th anni prime, with PROPER red paint and chrome, added battle damage which IMO looks cool but has the short smoke stacks(again, can easily be replaced with long ones) and you also have the trailer.

So add up the total and you have an MP Prime in proper colors AND a trailer for less than a single Takara MP Prime.

let's get back to the topic, i will definitely get the mp-04, but not now, hopefully i can save enough cash and buy the damn at my only local toy store that sells it. my question is will it be still available around christmas this year. cuz i'm planning to get one on christmas. plus they say the thing now cost 300 bucks, will it gets more expensive if i waited till christmas. i mean this is a toy, any price has its limit. the toy can't go up to as high as 800 bucks right, i mean with that price i can get an iphone instead!!!! so now i'm still thinking whether or not should i get it, with that outrageous price. if i get one online or on ebay, if the toy is defective, it will not be return in a opened box. but i buy it in person, i can still exchange it if there's any problem with it. btw if anyone can sent me a link to a site that sells mp-04 less than 300 bucks, such as 150-200 bucks would greatly be appreciated.

Why are you set on the takara version? There are cheaper alternatives out there which are just as good as the takara version...

i'm obsesse of prime getting a clean paint and longer smokestacks. plus i really don't wanna deal with ebay sellers. i think i would be happy to deal with the actual seller at a existing store so i can track them down if i get a default figure, btw japanese toy companies have very good quality control or q.c. over their produts. so please answer my question, usually how many more waves of toys will takara be releasing until they decided to officially discontinue? cuz i really want to wait till christmas to get this toy. that's probably the time i will save over 400 bucks for it. of course i'm not gonna pay that amount, but will the price keep increasing by christmas?

It's MP-01 for 130 I think was the price... I can't remember. At any rate, it's through Toywiz.com not exactly the cheapest place out there, I think they have MP Starscream for 300 right now. But I've always done decently through them.

My opinion, get MP-01 and buy the JustIToys trailer through BBTS when they are in stock again. I think it's Version two that opens up with Roller and all the crap.

MP-01 and MP-04 have both been discontinued already. No more production runs have been announced by Takara.

Also, Takara's quality control isn't always perfect either. The price might go up a little more, but I think what would be more worrisome is someone else buying it before you do.

so indeed, people are more gearing towards takara toys despite its outrage price so-so q.c... but do you think that i might manage to snatch one in 6 months apart.

If you mean will you be able to find one six months from now... I don't know. Probably, but the price will be up by then. Closer to Christmas, fewer and fewer available to buy... I'd buy it now if I had the money.

Or... if you're thinking of buying the MP-01 right now, and the Trailer later on... That's iffy too.

Again this is an issue of wanting a highly sought after figure well after the original release. You're gonna get screwed one way or another.

i wanna paint it, but i think taking it apart is too risk and probably will break it. by christmas if it cost 400 bucks, count me out!!!! cuz i'm not buying it. i just hope hasbro will re-issue its figure next year or year after. hopefully, this time, please be RED torso, black gun, silver stripes, no damage paint, and silver chrome parts!!!
plus don't re-issue prime with white body, cuz that will be ultra magnus instead of prime. and please include a longer smokestacks, so we as adult collecters may have a choice of installing the stacks or not.
