Is it Transformers related?
waaaaghlord wrote:Are you planning on going to Botcon next year? If so then you've saved on your entry just by joining and the mags etc are basicly just freebies. If you're into the exclusive figures then membership's the cheapest way to get them. It's not the only way since pretty much everything ends up at BBTS or on ebay at some stage but you'll shell out less by being a member and just getting stuff straight from the club. The store doesn't really offer any savings on general release stuff though. Their non member prices are over the top and their member prices are basicly just what you'd be paying at retail. I believe that that price does include shipping within the US though. I'm not 100% on that due to being over in Blighty and it never really affecting me. There are benefits but maybe not as many as there should be. End of the day a basic ground mail US membership's not that much, especially if you're planning to go to the con. Try it out for a year and if it doesn't impress don't resubscribe. It's been said before though and I'll say it again here: the more support the club gets the more they can give us. We'll only keep getting the exclusive toys if FunPub's making money. They're a business and need to turn a profit. The longer they have the license and the more that they make the better things should get. My one complaint at the moment would be that they do seem to be slipping behind the schedule in the original mission statement regarding frequency of CLUB exclusives and that these seem to take secondary importance to CON exclusives. Well that and the fact that as an international member I'm getting nowhere near as good a deal out of them as folks in the US (higher fees and international shipping). But they're still doing enough for me to stick around, I'd just like to see a little more you know?

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Yes, but international membership is more expensive at US $89 a year. For this you get the same basic package: annual membership figure, 6 issues of the club mag and an extra 6 issues of Master Collector in the odd months (last part not really worth mentioning, but hey). You also get use of the club website's members section which at the moment is basically just a forum and a few pieces of fiction and Minicon bios that are web exclusives as well as member prices at the club store and on the Botcon boxed set although you'll be paying quite a hefty international postage rate.
It's a harder decision on international membership than US domestic membership and might not be right for everyone. As said above though, if you were in the States and planning to go to the con I don't see why you wouldn't join (I know you're in Germany DM, just wanted to make the point again).

Of the exclusive figures that are in the Seibertron galleries so far, the 2 membership figures that have been released so far are Skyfall and Landquake, no gallery of this year's figure Breakaway as yet, but he's literaly just been released. Airrazor and Astrotrain are the club exclusive figures that we've seen so far and the rest of the figures there have been Botcon convention exclusives.
The membership figures for the first five years (so 2 yet to come) are clear recolours of the Energon combiners, with limbs first and the torsobot due last. If you're new to the club idea and put off by the thought of not getting a full combiner then don't worry. Previous figures are available in the club store at $20 to members or $40 to non members and show up on ebay fairly regularly and BBTS less often but sometimes.
