You want to know? Alright. It's PRODUCT PLACEMENT.
Transformers is filled with shitloads of ads, and it makes me sick. There's a scene where the Allspark sends out a pulse of energy which transforms various machines in the vicinity. Among them:
An Xbox 360
An Ipod
A Scion car
An HP camera
And the entire contents of a Target (with a nice zoom up on the logo)
Why do you think the Autobots are all GM cars, and the Decepticons are all Ford vehicles (except Megatron)?
Bumblebee cannot speak, so he speaks with radio advetisements. One of the first things he says is a Yahoo ad, complete with the "YahoooOOOOoooo!" Then he does a Verizon Wireless "Can you hear me now?" bit.
On top of it, Sector Seven uses Macintosh computers exclusively.
It's sickening. I'm leaving before I get sued.

I'd like to know that as well.

I agree, the only time Rascism is really brought up is due to ethnic resentment against white opinion, and further more, rascism today in this country seems to be more of a black thing versus a white thing.. the "Black Tax" as I have heard about is nothing more then rascism against white people, to have a tax to attone for Slavery is rediculous, considering the Africans sold their own people into slavery for trinketts and weapons, which were used to kill off rival tribes, and are still being used in Africa on a daily basis..
saying that Americans need to pay a tax to attone for rascism and White Guilt is preposterous, the Jews were slaves before anyother race, the best we did was give them their own Nation, Africans have their own nation and look what they have done so far, and besides calling yourself African American is so racist in itself, because it seperates you from other Americans and is used to define race versus just being an American regardless of color or origin..
The over stereotypical designs and scripted lines used by Jazz to portray a Black person or someone of that origin are compoletely within norms if you ask me, because if you haven't noticed, when I see young Black men hanging out or talking, its almost like a Rap video as far as slang and converstaions go, not to mention the dress style.. if rascism is derived from being different then why differentiate yourself so much from Mainstream society?? Then complain about the use of that difference in a movie??
I think Jazz is fine being "Urban" and those stereotypes are not really a stereo type, you know how many Black people sport Basketball shoes?? its reality, and some people are too touchy about stuff like that, which is why attorney's make boo koo bucks on these race issues..It just seems like there are too many Black People on the look out for racists and not paying attention to those who aren't.. i have lots of Black friends, some of whom i work with, and they are always bringing up racism, are these people who live here racists? What do you think about so in so, are they racist?
I have spent months having to break down stereotypes about the "White Man" and things that were talked about and taught in the home frequently about whites and their attitudes about Blacks, its silly....if you spend too much time in one pond with only one kind of fish, then evrything else outside of it becomes alien territory and fear and stereotypes prevail over reason..
And another thing, i'm of Meditereanian decent or Italian, and you don't see me whinning about Italian stereotypes in the movies, i could complain about the Sopranos, or mafia Movies like good fellas, casino, ect.. but I don't because I know part of its true and its also exagerated..if I was to be like some people, i could say we need a Tax for italians, because we founded America, from Christopher Columbus, or that the continent was named after an italian, Amerigo Vespucci, the first sailor to sail around the world..
That said, i would have prefered the Puke green Ratchet die first...and that is based on his color..So i guess you caould say i'm racist against puke

Wow. This is maybe the most ass-backward thing I have ever read. I have to jump around your post a bit b/c you said a lot.
1) There are plenty of Italians who resent the stereotypical portrayal of Italians in cinema. I live in Jersey...trust me. A large Italian contingent protested the filming of the Sopranos in the next town b/c of the offensive content of the show.
2) Africa is not a country. It is a continent. Much of the political turmoil on the continent results from European colonization....drawing artifical boundaries irrespective of the natural historical tribal boundaries that already existed. When the colonial powers left, very recently (last half of the 20th century in many cases), they left no means or infrastructure to use in governing these fake countries. Basically, they came, conquered, did damage...then bounced. The is the probably the most damaging impact that European colonialism has had on the planet. Period. This phenomenon is evident outside Africa (e.g., Eastern Europe, India).
3) Slavery. Very early on, European slavers would trade with local tribes for slaves. Typically these slaves were war prisoners. Shortly after the onset of American slavery, the Eorpean slavery began the kidnapping slaves-raids you hear about. This accounted for the VAST majority of captured slaves. The ones sold into slavery by other African are hardly worth mentioning from a numbers standpoint. Moreover, pre-American slavery was different than what most people think of. In previous forms of slavery, slaves could earn citizenship (or at least their kids). They were allowed to go to school, own property. That is not how it went down here.
4) Stereo-types. Man, you need to meet more Black people. Not all are rap slang talkers. Stereotypes often have some basis in truth. But mainly, it is just people seeing what they want to see....generally to make themselves feel better about themselves. See "In-Group/Out-Group Theory" or "Confirmation Bias". Wiki it. BTW...white people wear basketball shoes too.
5) Reparations. Man, if you don't think that Blacks are owed at least a token of acknowledgment for the part they played in building America, you are a truly evil person. An Italian guy may have "discovered" America, but it was built on the backs of African slaves. This point is not debatable. Anyway, blacks were promised reparations (40 acres/Mule) that were never delivered. So the country reneged. Don't act like th claims are so preposterous.
6) The concept of "mainstream society" is a myth. Stop fooling yourself. African Americans don't call themselves American b/c American doesn't accept Blacks as "true" Americans. Also, they do it for the same reason that Italians still identify with Italy. They originated somewhere else. There is a measure of ancestral pride in the term "Africa American". I see people with Italian flags or British flag decals all the time. Why is that so threating? At least all other people that immigrated to this land can trace roots back to somewhere. Blacks cannot. Hence their indentification with an entire continent. Black were stripped of name, religion and history is a way previous unseen in human history.
You need to check your self, man.
