If "special showing" is the midnight event on July 3, then this isn't new... it's merely confirmation of the original "bumped up" date of July 3. Honestly, if an evening showing on the 2nd is indeed 'special', it's only special by a couple of hours.

Exactly, can they at least try and bring the movie forward for us here. July 6 seems to be the best day to release it, it's the same day as Die Hard 4 but Die Hard 4 shouldn't really be any competition for Transformers.
