No it wouldn’t. I’m sure it would look better than the nearly translucent plastic already on him.

-Cybertron Megatron : robot can hardly be posed when combined with Dark Ligerjack, funky ankles ruin the figure.

I didn’t know anyone actually did that combo…

-Energon Megatron : terrible deco and boring toy overall. Tank weapon is retarded.

Energon Megatron was one of the most lauded and positively proclaimed toys in years when it was released. People were in love with that thing and rightly so. I don’t see how it’s boring or a terrible deco.

-Armada Megatron : H-tank is decent, but robot mode is crappy as hell, and the combined form is even worse.

The only problem with Armada Megatron is a lack of leg possibility. He needs knee and hip joints. Otherwise, he’s awesome.

-RID Megatron : 10 modes, only 1 that looks like something, plus it's floppy as hell.

You exaggerate far too much. All of the original 6 modes for Megatron were quite good. Now some of the ones “added” for Galvatron were a bit of a stretch…

-TM2 Megatron : floppy neck in dragon mode, ugly robot mode that you can't do much with.

There is a lever which locks his neck. As far as an ugly robot mode…he’s a supermodel compared with much of Beast Wars.

-TM Megatron : breaks every time you look at it wrong. too bad, it almost had potential.

Fair enough. The American release is plagued by bad plastic. He is awesome though.

-BW Megatron : now that was a good one despite having no hands.

Second.

If you ask me hes a fine figure. I kinda like him. And yes, there is movement in the head, just dont connect it to the tap, then he can look up, and the head can turn around 360 degress.

Not true, mine can.

So what? That's the case with several other figures.

And the paint on the figure in the picture is like Cybertron Galavatron, so shiny.

Photoshop.

This thing looks like a prototype.

Because the figure was MEANT to be all grey? Consider yourself lucky to get a few other non-movie colors in the mix.

Ok dude, you've got to know what's up before you go about like that.

Car Robots Gigatron has 6 modes. Car Robots Devil Gigatron has 10 modes due to minor alterations to the mold.

The US release of Gigatron aka Megatron, was based upon the Devil Gigatron release of the mold. The US Megatron while only having 6 of the modes displayed in his instructions, could pull off all 10 because it was based off Car Robots Devil Gigatron (aka Galvatron).

At any rate, Megatron is supposed to have 6 modes and the powered up version, Galvatron, has 10 modes.

The site you reference even states this.

The Movie figures are not hit here in Japan. Some Transformers fly off the shelves like - MP Convoy, MP Megatron, KISS Transformers, etc. The Movie figures on the otherhand are just sitting on the shelves in the toy stores in my city, Nagoya.

The Japanese love Optimus Prime. Usually anything that is Optimus Prime flies off the shelves here in a couple days; but not the case with Movie Prime. They don't want him!

RID Megatron, his 6 or 10 modes, they're all crap.

This isn't Beastwars, these are mechanical beings not meant to look like animals.

Sorry, but Movie Megs looks like a robot.

- Um, unless you got a "special" Megatron, his feet can not sit flat.

I guess YOU got the special one. Know how to play with your stuff, dude.

- No Head movement on a Leader Class? Since when?

Since Cybertron Megatron, who can barely turn his head.

- Guaranteed not photoshoped, but hand painted. Alo that head is not photoshopped.

Whatever, it's very common for toys to not match what's on the box. Why do you act surprised all of a sudden?

- What are the so called movie colors, he's the same color as Jazz? I don't get this point.

Metal is not always shiny silver or chrome. Actually, it's RARELY shiny silver or chrome.

And Getterwhatever, have you eyes checked, because Megatron definitely looks like a robot. No need for tires or a hood-as-chest to be one.

Oh, and Cybertron Megatron can barely turn his head. So I guess your "since when" is roughly 2 years ago.

Have my eyes checked? It looks like the Predator more than a robot. I'm sorry your the only one that doesn't see this. And turning your head even a little is better than nothing at all.

Also, you sound like you'd be easily impressed by that fusion cannon gimmick as well. Woohoo, pull the trigget and two little fingers come out! Watch out, Megatron going to unleash his fury of lude and indecent behavior on you!

The actual Cybertron Galvatron figure really was silver, and had a beautiful shine - no photoshop whatsoever. This is how Movie Megs should be painted.

He's grown on me a LOT.

I didn't even think he was shelf-worthy when I got him, and now I don't even mind looking at his bot mode.

The head thing really reminds me of Wolverine's motorcycle or the Jokermobile toy that had the characters' head sculpted on the front.

I have since gotten my Ford Expedition outfitted with a huge paper mache sculpture of my own grinning face.

With the exception of his ship mode looking maybe something like Devil Gigatron's ship mode... there's not much to tell you this has anything to do with being named Megatron.

Optimus looks pretty much like an Optimus, save for one that was blown up with a quarter stick of dynamite strapped to his ass, then reglued with sticks and debris laying around the blast zone.

Megatron is... nothing Megatron at all.

"Oh, but you ASS... this isn't geewhun!"

So? Then don't be half-assed with some guys being G1-ish while some guys being pure, nondiscernable ass.

Man... not even an arm cannon. Just... gyuuh.

Yeah, HOW DARE THEY GIVE US ANY ORIGINALLITY!!!!!

It's people like you that complained when Beast Wars came out, that it wasn't G1, and you continue to complain about absolutely anything. Why did they even have to make any changes to anything at all? We could have had G3 and G4 and G5, all repaints of G1 figures. Yeah, THAT would have been great.

Still... I think Megatron looks like crap. I'm mostly complaining about you complaining about OTHER people telling you that it's not G1. You know what? IT'S NOT. Many people involved in the movie were big fans of G1, so it's not like it's random people butchering it. There's already a movie about Transformers G1 and they have plenty of figure for it. Go get them.

Yawn

What was this thread about again? Oh yeah, Movie Megatron.

I do not have him (yet), but his weapons look like they are the most appealing thing about him. The ability to take his one hand and turn it into a mace is really cool.

Having the mix and match of blue, grey, red, and black just doesn't look right to me though. If they could have made the colors flow better I may like him more. I personally think he would look good with either the blue or grey being his primary color, but only if the other color is not present. His color pattern just seems to clash even more than Cybertron Megatron's.

I would also like to say that the transparent red parts on his back look out of place (the color that is). Maybe that's cuz the red clashes with the blue, I don't know.

The black face is also a downer. I like to be able to see the details of my action figures faces.

As for the actual appearance of the robot mode (molding wise), he doesn't look too bad to me. Since he is the only one still in his Cybertronian form (other than Protoform Prime and Starscream) I can let the unconventional robot mode slide.

I can also let the vehicle mode slide for this reason too. Granted, it looks weird, but at least it's not another Asteroid! 8)

I found Movie Megs to be much more appealing in person. The whole "it ain't Megatron" argument strikes me as odd. the only figs that look like Megatron in the traditional way is Mp Megs and Energon. Movie Megs is more Megatron than Cyb Megatron (Race Car? lol) or Armada Megatron IMO

Bingo.

Now, that's not to say they were bad figures either.

Cybertron/Galaxy Force Megatron had a nice robot design, and I loved his Batmobile from Hell look as well. The jet mode was rather forced, but forgivable.

Masterpiece Megatron harkens back to the orignal...somewhat. However, those spindly legs, easily breakable body parts, and weirdly designed head kinda made him not so Masterpiece-ariffic in my book.

Energon Megatron was a good figure, but wasn't Megatron. No, he was definitely Galvatron and the repaint proved that. A worthy addition to the collection, but beyond that...well...Megatron he ain't.

Armada Megatron is just a fun figure. If you don't expect groundbreaking ideas, gimmicks, whathaveyou, and just a fun tinkertoy, then he's more than able to please in that department. Especially when combined with Tidal Wave. (Hells yeah!)

Movie Megatron though...yes, he *IS* Megatron. The Megatron we know, deep down is a dark, hate filled monster. Willing to crush a person's will for a simple pleasure one second, and kill them on a whim the next. Violent, egotistical, totalitarian, and did I mention evil?

A simple cartoon can't truly convey such a creature. Personality wise, perhaps. (BW/BM Megatron though...now he was a bastard and proved to be quite capable. Still didn't have the look to go with it.)

But with his cartoon designs...does he really evoke an evil feeling? No, he looks like your run of the mill cannon fodder Decepticon, who just so happens to be Megatron.

Movie Megatron? In movie, or in plastic...he not only fits the part, is the part, but actually looks the part of evil.

...and that's how he's supposed to be. We're so used to the outrageous cartoony idiots of the past, that we can't look forward and see that this Megatron...truly lives up to the character they had always intended. This Megatron will rip you to shreds without batting an eye, and you'll want to come back for more.

And that is why the movie is purely made of win.

I'm not going to rehash all of what I've said before abut this line.

Well, maybe one point. I think they really should have recosidered the look of the faces. It makes it much harder to get onboard with this for me. Oh, and the flames on Prime bug the hell out of me. No way would someone of Prime's demeanor as I have always known Prime, ever gotten some cheesy flamboyent flames painted on. Sunstreaker, sure, Prime, no.

Don't get me wrong, I will definately watch the movie and will love it no matter how bad or good it is. They toyline though has really not impressed me. Despite the faces and coloring, I am tempted to buy Robovision and Leader Prime, because hey are prime. And Unleashed and Ultimate Bumblebee look cool and tempt me. However, by and large, I think if I got any of the other caharacters, they would be some of the only TFs that I own that would remain in alt mode. (I actually really dig the alt modes on most of them, except for Ratchet's and Prime's questionable color schemes.)

I think that sadly says a lot. Still I remain hopeful that watching the movie will change my mind and somehow those ugly mugs will grow on me.

P.S. Then again, I still haven't accepted BW, soooo.... ;-)

1.) Bay specifically said he wanted the flames. (This is not a bad thing.)

2.) Flames don't make the 'bot. Prime was in a hurry and just so happened to trans-scan a semi with flame deco on it. Didn't have time to change it, nor worry about it. (I think it suits him fine, because this is a re-imagining of the mythos)

To each their own, but wow. I predicted people would have a problem with the movie and the toys...all those months and months ago. I just never imagined it would become this big of an issue.

...death threats for Bay? Wow. And those people don't have a problem? *BUZZ*
