Hello to whoever it is who happens to be reading this message at this moment.
How are you? I hope the day finds you well.
Let me get straight to business. I, Ramsey, have traveled to these fine forums in hope of finding a new recruit for the tabletop RPG our online group, Radio Multiverse, will be playing soon. Which will be, of course, a Transformers game. A G1 Transformers game even, set in the same universe as the classic cartoon of the 80s.
Now, if at this moment I'm still holding your interest, I suggest you keep on reading to learn all the details.
If not, then I wish you a good day.
(Also I hope I posted this in the right forum...)
WHATNext month Radio Multiverse will be starting a new game of Cartoon Action Hour Season 3 and it's going to be set in the universe of the generation 1 Transformers cartoon.
Cartoon Action Hour is a tabletop rpg that emulates the action-adventure cartoon genre of the 80s. It even simulates the (sometimes quite baffling) cartoon logic that was prevalent in many of these cartoons.
It has very simple rules that can be learned quite quickly. No need to memorise 100+ pages of rules here, don't worry.
But unfortunately several of our usual players have decided not to join us for this game, as they've never really watched the cartoon.
So, because of that we're looking for
ONE new player to join our ranks. Yes, only one at the moment. The game master, a good friend of mine, is a long time player, but doesn't yet have a lot of experience as a GM, so he'd like to start small. Maybe later we'll be taking on more players.
In any case, we're looking for someone who (of course) likes to roleplay and is a fan of the original Transformers cartoon. In-depth knowledge of the series is not required, but we would like someone who's watched the series at some point and liked it.
Two of the three players we have right now don't really know that much about the show, so we'd like to take someone aboard who can bring some Transformers nostalgia to the table.
You also don't need to have played Cartoon Action Hour (or any RPG for that matter) before. The rules are simple enough to learn them while playing.
So, in any case...What is the game about?
Well, the campaign takes place during the time gap between the end of the second season of The Transformers and The Transformers: The Movie.
The game will begin in the mid to late 80s, but it could be we'll be going into the 90s as the campaign progresses.
The story will begin on Cybertron. You'll be playing an Autobot who's been captured by the Decepticons and forced to do slave labor in a mine deep below the surface.
But together with your fellow Autobots you start hatching a plan to escape and to teach those Decepticreeps a lesson they'll never forget!
And that's pretty much all I'm allowed to tell you about the plot.
These are the characters we have on board for now:
Trailblazer: A combat medic who transforms into a military ambulance.
Cloud Dancer: A swordswoman who transforms into a combat helicopter.
And a currently nameless
ninja who transforms into a classic muscle car.
WHENOur games are played during the weekend, every other week, on either a Saturday or Sunday, depending on when everyone has the most time. And we start around 14:00 GMT+1. Usually they last around 3 to 4 hours.
Except for one American (who has to get up early in the morning to join us) we're all from various European countries, but all of us are fluent in English.
Our first game will probably be on the 6th or 7th of February.
HOWWe play our games using Google Hangouts with a virtual tabletop called Anywhere Board Games. It's normally used for board games, but you can just as easily use it to run an RPG. With the set-up I've made it simulates a real life playing table quite well.
So all you need is a headset (or a mic and headphones) and a stable internet connection. Webcam is optional, but not required.
WHAT IS RADIO MULTIVERSE?We are a group who make actual play videos, meaning that most of our game sessions are recorded and get published online, so please bare that in mind. If you don't want your real name to be used, that's not a problem though. Like one of our current players you could use a handle or nickname of some sort.
Check our our Youtube page if you want an example of how our games go:
