Machinima Transformers Power of the Primes Cartoon Discussion Thread
Re: Machinima Transformers POTP Animated Series Discussion Thread
The terrible voice direction is, once again, hurting the performance of someone who SHOULD have been quite good in the role. Granted it's just one line for now. I also suspect these Machinima models don't quite have the range of even the old season 1 Beast Wars models who coult still show emotion and expression. Yes, even a guy with a half mouthplate like Primal.
Now he look so bored that, combined with the phoned in voice acting, he look more like a Mass Effect Andromeda character. But that's, of course. a general issue with Machinima's Transformers series.

I like Ron Perlman but that line was not well delivered. Especially for what is meant to be a powerful intro, it sounded like the dullest performance he has ever given.

Oh, they did get a real studio for this and its predecessors. A rather famous studio, even. The legendary Tatsunoko Production, no less. Which just makes the sheer incompetence of this animation all the more baffling.Octobotimus wrote:yet another failure.... hasbro, go get a real studio , they at least put effort in.

Animation quality is nothing if the other pieces (general direction, voice acting direction, writing, storyboarding) are absolute garbage made by amateur.

Re: Machinima Transformers POTP Animated Series Discussion Thread
I'm looking forward to this. I don't think the Combiner Wars and Titans Return series are as bad as a lot of fans seem to think.
My only misgiving is seeing that Dashie guy is back voicing Menasor.
For 30 years, Menasor has been my favourite Combiner but every time he opens his mouth in this, I cringe.
I wish they got the voice actor from Devestation.
Overall though I'm looking forward to this. Megatron and Hot Rod have been great.

Yeah I'm going to second that...comparing this to what other things they put out recently...this is bizzare, maybe they should have done it 2D, might have taken longer but the results may have been greater

The 20th Anniversary of Beast Wars came and went without single figure or acknowledgement from Hasbro. When people confronted Warden on what Hasbro had planned he said anniversaries didn't need to be celebrated (this was right after Thrilling 30 mind you) and pointed people to Takara Tomy for their Beast Wars fix because they weren't interested. They also canceled Titan Master Optimus Primal (and Trizer) in wave 6 for no obvious reason.

It doesn't matter how good a studio is, they're only going to put in as much effort as they're paid to. They can actually do some decent CG work, just check out Infini-T Force.

I haven't been following infini-T force, I thought it looked like one of those shows that I needed to watch all the other shows first to get the most of it. I mean I've only seen the first Gatchaman and a bit of Casshern. Maybe Hasbro need to put more money on the table but I guess it all depends on what Hasbro's objective is with the series

The "Game of Thrones of animation" sure didn't live up to that intent.

That what Combiner Wars was hyped up as being, at least. Its makers were all so excited about how great and wonderful it was gonna be, on par with such shows as Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and other such primetime epics.Bronzewolf wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The "Game of Thrones of animation" sure didn't live up to that intent.

Looks like it will be worth watching tho it sadly reminds of how small the POTP dinobot figures are. The Predaking fight is going to look comical with the toy range

Scale means nothing in animation. CW Devastator and Victorion were the same height. So it will be with Predaking and Volcanicus. Though I am puzzled a bit as the group with Victorion seem to be looking up quite a bit, as if Volcanicus is way more massive than other combiners, which wouldn't make sense, probably just bad editing.

Seems like Mark Hamill is trying to put some effort into the very lax level of voice direction he's being directed to be at.

Hamill is the goddamn Joker: if there is one VA in there who I expect will have fun with this mess of a show it's him, given he plays the main villain. He's going to 'Raul Julia' it up in there, hopefully.
