This is only loosely based on IDW, so it is an 'AU' so I'm not sure what you mean about rewriting childhood. G1 toon is going to be what it has been. It'd quite clear that hasbro aren't touching that specific timeline again

I don't understand why people start bawling that their childhoods are being broken due to new releases and what not. I was unaware that writers and cartoon makers had access to a time machine to alter one's childhood. As far as I am aware, my childhood is very much intact and I love the new stuff. I will be giving this a chance.

This is easily the best Transformers cartoon to come out in the last 30 years. But I have to admit that a pretty low bar has been set since the original G1 went off the air.

I have seen all 3 of the KO series you mentioned and i was not impressed.

Good question. I would prefer it not to be part of G1, but it is.

I've seen a few posts on here where people are picking apart this little 5 minute cartoon and making some pretty good arguments. I'm not one of those people.

I was going to rip this ep to pieces but then I found one thing about it that sums it all up :

Voices supplied by so called Celebrity Youtubers (no that isn't a joke).

I think that is both mean and short sighted. Many of these people are simply professional voice actors. None claim to be celebrities, its just professionals doing a job. Just like Peter Cullen was back n the 80s, just a professional looking to make it work in the business. And they are successful in their careers.

No, that was misconstrued, its meant for the fan age range which hasbro has labeled as 10 years +. Also, how adult can things be really? Unless they start blowing eachother and swearing, it can never technically be considered adult.

You can cut Diamondium with how much edge they given Windblade. Hell you even Diamondillum doesnt stand a chance against the electro matter sword they seem to of given Windblade. That's the only way i can see her cutting into menasor like that,

I was thinking about the same thing (sort of)
Menasor just skydived from space through an atmosphere crashes, gets up shakes it off and gets cut up like he's made of paper. Thats some weapon! Give it a chance sure but this episode is pure rubish.

Saw that clip a day before the show came out all we know is that they are in individual form but that doesn't mean they will talk or do much anyways considering how amazing this show is thus far.

it is isn't it. But don't worry I've had my fair share of disappointments (Beast Machines, Armada, Animated). they come and go. If you are patient, while another spectrum of the fandom is being catered to, it will come back around to what you like, just might take a few years. Combiner Wars was definitely not what I was expecting but I am enjoying it whilst all other parts of the medium aren't really "my thing" right now. Prime was amazing, and I don't expect to see another series as great, at least as far as what I'm looking for, for another decade or so. So, while CW is far form perfect, I'll take what little scraps I can get until Transformers decides to do something again mainstream more to my liking.

Yes, which doesn't make much sense to me, since in IDW they come from the same place and have many of the same goals, and , I would think for lack of a better term, would be "friends"

That is true...but man I don't remember them fighting. Either I need to stop purchasing IDW comics, or need to pay much better attention (I am supporting the cause more than the content)...

Not sure if...aesthetic is the right word...but if you are referring to the look & feel of the show, yes it was very off putting. But I recognize many other fans loved it. Like I said, something for everyone, over a cycle of time. My time comes and goes, as does everyone else's.

Indeed, it took a while to get used to but the show made megatron threatening again. Plus it gave us an amazing toy line but if it wasn't for you that's fine, as long as you're not hating it for abritary reasons.

I would never say I hated it. My kids love Animated, and I watch it with them on occasion. But Transformers: Prime was, I feel made for me. If that makes any sense.

someone can make that case for pretty much any series, whether you personally like it or not, what makes something great, in this case, is very much a matter of opinion. For some it is GREAT now, for some young fans RB & RiD15 is their G1. For others it was great 3 years ago, for others still 7 years ago...and so on.

While it was a crap death I still like how she kept falling apart to make it actually look goreish without making it gore.


Now that I look at it Maxima was pretty much the Slipstream retool of Windblade but without the retool bits and just a different head.

The Sacrificial Lamb: The named character who exists solely to die.

Maxima existed solely to give Windblade a bit of angst and to set the tone for the series. She only got a name and a voice to give the audience a smidge of personal resonance when she inevitably died.
