Not to mention that he probably isn't going to do this just once on the parade route. It's a long cold parade route and there's a lot of people along the way to rick roll.

I would have put it down to the fact he's just old and can't actually sing the song like he use to anymore.

Because most musicians lip sync for public performances. Especially ones that aren't in arenas with PA systems.

I have a lack of respect for those who lip sync live at a stadium, where ample speakers aren't a problem. But for a parade, it's kind of a necessity, due to budget costs, the massive area they have to cover etc.

Also the fact that its strain on the vocial cords in the cold. But hey when i saw that I laughed myself to tears while my Dad stood there dumbfounded as to what was so funny.

also, if they didn't lip sync people would realise that they can't sing their own songs...you know, like guitarists that can't play the same song twice.

Dude, they have only one song that's under five minutes, and less than half of their songs are under 6 minutes. Cut the guy some slack, he's got, on average, 7 minutes of fast-paced guitar playing in a single song. Though I supposed it's not much better for Sam Totman, who has to do the same thing, while drunk.
