It's probably something you're best finding out yourself. Your first priority should be to find out what laws there are relating to replica firearms. You may be fine, or, you may be like certain States in Australia that requires you to either have a firearm permit or ensure he's kept locked in a gun cabinet.

Once you've familiarised yourself with replica firearms laws, then you need to talk to customs. Depending on the laws you may need certain permits to get him into the country.

If there's an online retailer based in Sweden that stocks Transformers, talk to them. I was fortunate enough to have Premium Collectables who will deal with all the customs paper work.

I'm not entirely in love with it in bot mode. Lots of panel lines and hing bits on top of the chest around the head.

The legs are absolutely fantastic.

Gun mode is spot on. Which is the mode i'd most likely keep it displayed in.

I hope this isn't the final colour/paint job. Flat grey or plain old grey plastic just doesn't cut it at that price point. It needs to be either chromed or metallic paint at the very least.

That's how I feel about the MP Primes we've gotten since MP-01. I went years without one hoping they'd make one without a trailer to bring down the price since I have absolutely no use for a stand alone trailer (from any toy line if it doesn't combine with the figure). With or without the trailer the red truck is still complete Optimus Prime. Heck they even released Black Convoy without the trailer so the possibility was there.

However, I don't have the same feeling about Megatron. Those extra parts are what sets his gun mode apart from the other Walther P38s out there. I find the parts to be essential and completely displayable without taking up a lot of extra space.

Emerje

It's funny you mention prime... I wasn't too keen on the mp10 release, I had mp1 and felt mp10 was like retreading old ground too soon. I had stopped mp collecting, sound wave was too expensive and rodimus wasn't a great figure so i focused my attention elsewhere till they started the new scale and saw wheel jack etc. I caved in and got mp10. He's a great figure with a couple niggles, and since i didn't have a trailer for mp1 I didn't mind, it actually makes a great display piece when open as prime's recharge bay or whatever...

re megs I really appreciate the extra gun bit, it's what makes him special in a way. The extra accessories i mean are like the multiple faces and weapons that can't be displayed all at once. Ironhide and shockwave came with their own little storage solutions...

But yeah i wouldn't be surprised if they rerelease this guy without the extra gun bits at one point and it's far better they release the full product now rather than release a full version a few months after when most collectors would've already bought him.
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

I did contact customs, let's see what they have to say. But it would've been nice to hear from someone who has imported a similar figure to Switzerland before and what their experience was.
Unfortunately there aren't any Swiss based online retailers that I know of, hence why I'm usually importing directly from Japan.

Also I'm located in Switzerland not Sweden, still have no idea why the two always get confused :-P

Nope, Burn says you live in Sweden, you need to be in Sweden! ;)

I do agree it is a bit ridiculous that an oversize replica toy like this one causes so much consternation. But, I also get law enforcement's perspective in this, and will put up with the orange plug here in the US. (I'm not saying I was able to remove the plug from MP-5 pretty easily, 'cause, you know... :-s ) I guess after reading xMXUx and Burn, we have it pretty easy here in the States. I'm still not sure I am going to keep my pre-order. This is darn expensive...

Price is one of the reasons I don't have MP-10 yet either...

This is especialyl good for International Buyers. Anime Export now has MP Megatron, and for pretty cheap:

http://www.anime-export.com/product/33874

16100 Yen which is equivalent to $151 USD. You will have to take into account shipping too, which can be an extra $25 with SAL. Still, all in all $175 for MP Megs sounds on par with MPs recently, especially when considering the exchange rate.

what about em? They differ per each country, so everyone should look into it on their own end if its a concern or no. But its just a plastic toy robot bought from japan, like all the others. There has never been concern before, dont see why there should be some now. As for extra duty fees, you can ask anime export to declare a lower amount.

I think someone previously mentioned HLJ will ship with the orange plug. I'm not willing to risk it so I'll wait for them to list it.

The more i look at him the more I'm becoming enamored with it and can forgive any perceived "flaws" i'm nitpicking about.

I appreciate that the gun stalk becomes a flight stand and i like the jeweled "diodes" or whatever in his ab section. Details like that are winning me over. I can forgive the panel and hingey bits around his head.

THe real stinger is that it's gonna cost about $220 Canadian plus about another 40 for shipping and handling. I don't think he's worth 260$ thats for damn sure. He's gotta check off all my boxes for that price.

I feel like this is the best MP-Megatron on the market right now, official or unofficial. It looks amazing, the accessories are really cool, he looks exactly like he did in the cartoon, and...it's perfect. In my opinion. If you don't like it because the legs are too skinny, or because he's not silver, that's fine...but don't criticize it for doing what it's supposed to. The entire point of this figure is to be CARTOON accurate...if you like your Megatrons bulkier, and silver, and with red on the inside of his legs, etc, that's fine. Go buy Despotron. But MP-36 is trying to be cartoon accurate, and I find it kinda odd how people are complaining about this figure for doing what it's supposed to be doing.

...anyway, who thinks an MP Galvatron is on the way in a year or two?

In terms of MPs I'm expecting to happen the most...

-Hauler
-Artfire (maybe with Nebulon?)
-Grimlock
-Some sort of re-use of Megatron, Shockwave, Ironhide and Primal
-Black Hot Rodimus
-Tigatron

Galvatron would be up there though. They've basically ran out of recognisable Decepticons aside from Galvatron, Scourge, Cyclonus, the Insecticons and the Triple Changers.
And combiners, but I wouldn't expect them. Maybe Swindle? Maybe? He's pretty popular, right?

So you're just going to ignore the shipment of MP-05 Megatrons that were confiscated at Western Australia customs and subsequently destroyed?
And the MP-05 Megatrons that were seized at New South Wales customs and held until receivers completed the appropriate paper work?

Sorry WJ, but there is clearly a precedent set for people to be concerned about new Megatron.

It is exactly why I sent the news crew the link to Griffins guide to replica firearms laws in Australia, (a link that has subsequently been ignored). If people from other countries have concerns, then I hope they check with their customs and I hope they share their findings here on the forums. This isn't just any ordinary Transformer character.

His alt mode HAS caused problems in the past.

I was responding to an American. I also did advise everyone in the same post you quoted that they should check for themselves. I am fully aware of the situation in Australia but it is often quoted as an exception, especially since it has some of the strictess gun laws on the planet. Even mortal kombat games are illegal there.

As far as I know none of these gun Megatron toys were ever seized and destroyed in the US, orange plug or not.

When did you send it? I'm trying to find it

Va'al and I have discussed this privately. Some how it wasn't received, I even took a screen cap showing him it sitting in my sent box.

Technology. :(
