I feel with the ending of the trilogy, they need to make sure this actress is a different character, and I'm sure they wouldn't just REPLACE Megan and not start a new character, I give them too much credit for that... and we all know better than mid-stream character-actor changes.

SO... I propse whether or not it was thought of by the powers that be, that Rosie's character be none other than Carly and make sure she's smart and a scientist of SOME kind at least. And let's have her and Sam NOT get a long at first, and have her fake an ankle sprain... and force Sam to carry her as the rest becomes history.. and why not? Shockwave is the villain, all that happened righ under Shockwave's watch originally anyhow..hehehehe...

Well I think that they need to write her intelligently even if she's just for Bay to jerk off to during break... yeah we saw the way he looked at Megan... that old fox.

I'd argue that they wouldn't have time or money to rewrite Rosie's character....however now with all the drama over filming in Washington....a re-write seems inevitable and so...maybe! I personally don't know the Carly chracter

No I'm not, I just don't know the mythos that well in terms of the human characters in play. If making Rosie Carly can subscribe more to the TF mythos, groovey. I'd honestly like to see her establish her own character then having to build on something already founded by an actress in this franchise. Though, having her play a scientist may play out just as bad as Tara Reid trying to play scientist in that aweful sci fi flick...the one with Christian Slaighter (SP?)....i forgot the title..puposely too. Eh you know what I mean.

then again, I'll be watching this because it's in 3D...this film as far as I'm concerned is one giant gimmick....2011's Prince of Persia if you will ha ha ha.

Megan Fox was a useless character in the series anyways, and what else you expect after all that crap she said about Bay?

I hate that every one assumes that Carly is in TF3. Just because it was in G1 doesnt mean it has to happen anywhere else. Im all for G1 loyalty, but we need somthing different to break up the monotany (however you spell it.) of the same mediocre **** we already know the answer to. Not saying that G1 is ****, im just saying we need somthing new. And I hope shes just has a cameo appearence. There are many ways you could let this movie go if Makayla died and stayed dead.

I doubt this will be the case being there were early reports of her character being very significant to the plot. Which in turn supposedly ties into alot of the newer talent hired and their characters plots. Also, Rosie's status hasn't changed from being Megan's replacement, so until otherwise is announced I'd say she's there to reprise the Mikaela character verses someone new. And even if she isnt, Bay isn't one to hire on eye candy and not apply proper screen time to said eyecandy.

Besides, I don't think it would bode well for Bay. To have a recast of a character and then kill her off, especially after generating alot of buzz around the character. Just, it wouldn't sit well, like a failure on the director's part and even the writers to adapt and properly execute this situation and Rosie herself whom is proving herself as an actress....to then kill her off. Would seem like a lack of ability on everyone's part to be able to make things work in a crisis situation. Especially after paying Shia to say this and that about this being the best actor centered Transformer film yet.

I've always taken that as meaning she's replaced Megan as the female lead, not the actual role.

Being the only lead female character written is Mikaela, and nothing else has been announced other then Rosie replacing Megan, who was playing Mikaela....it's a pretty safe assumption. Though who knows, like I said earlier, if they can afford the re-write Rosie may be someone else. They seemed ready to roll with the pen when the whole DC thing was playing about.

Though, not that it's been sorted, there really is no reason to re-write anything being a lead female role is already penned, lines are writen, shot schedules are up and running, diologue has already been pinned down....yadda yadda yadda the whole DC thing has been sorted right? Glanced a thread about it, didn't really read it into detail. Location jazz doesn't have me as interested as this next round of robot designs.

Perhaps Bay decided a while back to do away with Megan Fox and for whatever reason chose not to tell her immediately but had the script written with a new lead female character in place.

Yeah, she could be essential to the plot while being dead. Like I said there are many ways they could do this. Since Sam had the Allspark embedded in him, maybe every time they came in contact with eachoter in ROTF she got some of the Allspark. And since that happened Sam and Makayla could be the key to stoping whatever force there is (Maybe Unicron) by combining the two halves of the Allspark. But they cant do that because Makaylas dead.

According to IMDB she IS Carly and I have read it in other places as well, I know many including myself do not trust IMDB totally, but It's been seen in multiple reports that I have read and so I'm going to assume she's Carly, NOT the beautiful idiot.

Dude, she was confirmed as Carly a few months ago by Michael Bay's forum administrator.
