MOONBASE2

Postby tommy tek » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:58 pm

Hi, I'm a new member and really enjoy this forum. At first I was here to do research on Transformers, such as finding out where and when to buy figures that i needed/wanted. I found it to be extremely helpful because of all the sightings and inside news about retailers that carry TF figures and release dates that the general public was not aware of. I found it to be a place where I could make some friends that can share the common interest and love for Transformers.
I wanted to write about the great people that I have met on this site. It first started when I was in a discussion with a few other members who made fun of my run on sentences and also, in their opinion, thought that I had too many of the same figures, calling me a scalper. I totally disagreed because I only bought those figures for myself because I thought it would be cool, not to sell for profit.
Basically, I was being attacked, and then out of no where, Liege Evilmus came in and stood up for me. Someone I did not even know and have never encountered before, had my back. I thought "Wow, what a good guy." He told me that he was having no luck finding the 08 Bumblebee figure. I decided to send one his way because he deserved it for his kindness towards me and I had an extra that I did not mind sparing to such a swell guy like Liege. And of course, I did not expect anything in return.
Liege did not judge me because I had more that a few of the same figures or come down on me because I have more than a few grammatical errors on my posts. Instead, he took a stand and respected and understood me with out any prejudice…because we all have the same common goal and interest, to learn and share our opinions and ideas about Transformers.
Anyway, that was a few weeks ago. Last week, I PM’d some people about Rescue Ratchet and Thundercracker. These were the figures that I was having trouble finding in my area and I really wanted these figures, willing to buy or trade figures for. I didn’t really expect too much because there aren’t that many people out there who want you to have what you want. I got a few messages back, but no offer like the offer MOONBASE2 made. She learned of my good deed to Liege and told me that she had the figures I wanted and would give them to me. I received them today and felt the same way Liege felt when he got the figure he was having a hard time searching for.
The whole point of this thread that we are all here for the same reason, to share our knowledge and opinions and ideas and learn about the interest we have for Transformers, not judge one another and and sling hateful remarks towards one another just because we may not see eye to eye or come to an agreement.
Thanks again MOONBASE2 and Liege Evilmus. People like you make this forum an enjoyable and worthwhile place to spend my time discussing and learning about Transformers

Weapon: Sword
That's a cool story and a good reminder to us all.

Your post here is a bit of a run-on, and some paragraph spaces would make it easier to read, but your content is golden.

the people here really are great. Even those of us that come off kinda "assish" are just trying to make ourselves look cool online to compensate for a)boredom b)having a less than average iq c)lack of a social life d)...what was i saying?

(to post a pic, upload it to a server such as imageshack or photobucket that should give you a url for the image. then come here and use the format "Image" without the quotes)

The "assish" ones are just being what I like to call "Internet Bad-Asses". They'll get on a forum and act like they are the biggest, baddest asshole in the world, but if you ever saw them in real life they'd run screaming like a little bitch.

Don't fret it for one second.

I greatly enjoyed your post, and I don't care about grammar, one of my favorite and good friends is from Europe and his grammar is horrible!! but I do love conversing with him, and if I spent the whole time correcting his grammar and such, I wouldn't fully enjoy our conversations..now would I, Dead Metal!!

Anyways, I too have been unabel to find Bumblebee 08, so I will persevere and find him one day... but i refuse to buy it double the price on ebay.. so I will wait, eventually he'll turn up... but till then it's late night ecxcursions...

at first glance it looked like you said "preserve him one day"

And then, i imagined you all drooly faced ( =P~ ) rolling the bumblebee 08 around in tree-sap (amber) to "preserve" it.

;)

of course, i looked again .2 seconds later and understood what you had written properly.

question though: would amber preserve a tf better than an AFA acrylic plastic box :???:

Tommy Tek, man, that was real cool of you to write. And just so you know, yesterday I sent you out a big ass box of bots. I grabbed about 7 off the shelf that I think you might like and I know you wanted Arcee, Barricade, and '74BB. You'll have them soon and I hope you enjoy!

Alot of you know me on this site now and pretty much know I joke, kid, make my comments, and just try for civil debate.

But alot of you also know that taking pop shots on ones character over nothing, will have me come down on you like a ton of bricks.

But I digress, the whole point of all this to me, is that we'll all be better off, just being better to eachother.

I helped Tommy Tek, He helped me, I returned the favor in a way that I hope helps him.

But MoonBase2, you just came out of know where and added a very nice dash of flavor to these acts of good will!

Thank You for joining in a possitive spirit, may others follow your humble lead.

Even if you don't have bots to just give away, if everyone acted just alittle less "ASSISH", I think we'd all be better off, and also be taken more seriously as a fanbase.

Also, here's a link to my thread on Tommy Tek, enjoy...

It was kind of fun. I went out in the pouring rain to get the little guys, and they were right there on the shelf, seemingly waiting for me and their new home...wow, that sounds sappy! It feels good doing something that will make someone else so happy. Had I bought those figures for myself, I may have looked at them for ten minutes, then put them away. Tommy Tek was on a mission for them.

And that's nice of you to send him some stuff!

Aw, you're sweet. If I had loads of money I'd get everyone a Transformer. It's a weakness I have, and I often give baby clothes from my store away too. But I've had people help me, like when I had my first baby, everything was given to me. So you pay it forward.
